Was it worth it? Would you do it again?

It was a very relaxed way to get a GREAT view of Illuminations.

The price was quite reasonable- We had 3 DIS families who filled a boat and shared expenses.

We had a great seat for the show, and didn't have to deal with the crowds at all!

I went on an Illuminations cruise with my mom in December. We had 3 boats full of DIS and Mousefest people, and afterwards we saw some of our DIS friends waving to us from the bridge above. What a wonderful memory. . . .

Thanks to fellow Disers, Jim&Robin, we went on an Illuminations Cruise in January and it was absolutely PERFECT!!! The ride before the show was AWESOME and then we had such an excellent view of Illuminations. It was absolutely breathtaking and a memory we will have for a lifetime.

I was going to go last trip, but I read somewhere ( maybe here ?) that someone was very disappointed with the experience. That the wind was blowing right at them, blocking their view. Seemed like a lot of money to send on something that could be ruined so easily.

But from the other posts here tonight I am thinking I may have to put it up for consideration again next trip.

I could see how the wind blowing the wrong way could be a TOTAL bummer!! But, we were lucky and the wind was blowing away from us. It was one of the BEST things we've ever done "extra" at Disney. I would do it again in a HEARTBEAT!!! I was so completely impressed by it!!

After our Illuminations cruise my 6 year old nephew said, "This is the greatest day of my life."

I get puddled up just remembering. We loved our Illuminations Cruise

We were supposed to go on our last trip. We had it planned for the last night of our honeymoon and it ended up pouring, so we didn't go. We were really looking forward to it, so hopefully next time!

We went on an Illuminations cruise with some fellow DISers during our honeymoon trip this past December. It was a lot of fun--I really enjoyed the part that people don't seem to talk about on the boards much, the little touring around the waterways between Epcot resorts, MGM, and Epcot. It was a nice sightseeing voyage. :) Our cruise was lots of fun, and I would gladly do it again. However, I will say that we weren't quite as thrilled as I thought we would be, but that's just because we had been spoiled earlier that week. We had an Illumintions pre-reception as part of our wedding where we were blessed enough to be able to watch Illuminations from the bridge leading to the Italy Isola. It was such a breathtaking experience to have such a wonderful view and be surrounded by family and friends that the Illuminations cruise paled a bit in comparison. We did enjoy ourselves tremendously though, and I would recommend it. :)

We went on one during our first trip to WDW. It was great. we didn't do one for our last several trips. We had to get a spot and sit forever waiting. But this trip I booked one for DH's 40th Birthday! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

SSSHHHH! It's a surprise!:teeth:

We did it to celebrate my FIL's birthday and it was a great way to celebrate.

I would defiantely recommend it once.

Well, I enjoyed the cruise, would want to do it once, but there are better views of it in the park, and it was kind of smokey.

Again, it was worth it to do it once, probably won't do it again.

:bounce:

DS and I will be doing it in about 10 days. I am glad to hear so many positive experiences. I was lucky enough to find an opening on a cruise that another DISer booked. We are all splitting the cost so it won't be so $$$$.:D

Krista,

What night did you go on the cruise? My Mom & I were lucky enough to go on the cruise with Mousefest & Dis friends too! We went on Saturday December 6th. It was absolutely freezing and we were all bundled up in blankets but it was also magnificient! I was so glad that we did the cruise.

I would do it again in a minute! Of course I would go do WDW again in a minute if money allowed!

We went on an Illuminations cruise with two other Dis families on February 27th and had a very wonderful time! I would do it again in a second!

We've done the Illuminations Cruise twice and it was worth every penny! I'm kind of spoiled now, it's the only way I want to watch Illuminations  ;) :D !

we've done it twice, radp 99 and radp/mousefest dec 03, it was superb both times, and even though it was kind of cold in dec captain drove boat at a nice slow pace so no one froze, plus boat was supplied with blankets
only thing i would do different again is try to get together via e-mail with other boat persons and try to plan out coffee and desserts to have on boat
cost is very reasonable if you get a full boat of people to split $
