Anne, to each his/her own, I suppose. I enjoyed the Disney cruise, but enjoyed the RCI cruise much more. I felt the offerings on RCI far outshone those on Disney. I felt more attended to on RCI than on Disney.
That said, I would never say that I would never take another cruise on Disney, but I honestly don't feel it's worth the extra money.
Perhaps you had a bad experience on that particular ship, but I certainly wouldn't condemn all RCI for that.
I forgot to mention, we had a Meet & Mingle on our cruise -- the captain and his wife both attended and both were very nice. He asked a trivia question and the winner and their spouse were invited to dine with the Captain. He was very apologetic that he could not accomodate all of us that were at the meet & mingle.
You may have just been at the wrong place at the wrong time.
