Have you eaten at the HOB recently?

We had dinner there in October and it was the best Disney property meal we had in our 2 week trip.

Our accountant at work just went to Orlando for Christmas and New Year and I gave her a restaurant.com certificate so they went and tried it. They didn't do Disney and she said she admitted they went to HoB because they had the certificate. Her husband said it was the best meal he's ever had and they went back for more. We had great service there and the menu is quite extensive.

Yes, as far as I know they still have the Gospel Brunch.

We went to the gospel brunch a few months ago. It was very enjoyable. They had a choose-your-own ingredients jambalaya that was great! All the food was good, and the music was excellent - very talented singers. Overall we would definitely recommend it. :thumbsup2

Thank you all for taking the time to respond. I'm really looking forward to it. I also have found out that they offer discounts for HOB in WDW at restaurants.com (tho not for the Sunday Brunch - darn!).

Just a week ago today -- for lunch. (Used a restaurant.com certificate.)
Yes, they still offer the Sunday Gospel Brunch.
Had good food and service as usual there.

Thank you, again. It's so nice to be able to get unbiased opinions when trying to plan... There's so much to see and do, and so little time...
I'm really looking forward to the Sunday Brunch.

Thank you for spelling out the entire name. I didn't know what anyone was talking about until post #9. I really wish all OPs would spell the name out once. This is not the first time I've seen this. Just had to put the thought out there.

After having such a great time at the Gospel Brunch last year we decided it is know on our list of "must do's". I purchased my tickets through the Box Office yesterday and will be there in a week!

FWIW - we have VERY few "must do's" that we all agree on, and this is very close to the top of the list, right along with lunch at WPE on day 1!

What would be the OOP (out of pocket) cost for 1 adult with all the "service fees" including? Not counting any tip, that is.

I see the range that's listed, but then I also see an indicator of "plus various service fees"....

Also, does anyone know if the morning brunch event sells out early or at all?
Planning on Oct 2 or Oct 9.

Thanks!

Dont understand 'service fees"???
Maybe taxes?:confused3

I ate ate the another city's HOB and loved it recently-the little cornbread in the black skillet is to die for:cool1:

We love HOB, WE usally take 1 night to head to DTD and make HOB our dinner stop that night. Never had a bad meal there. No less avg savings for us is $44 as we buy the Resturant.com deal also. There latest deal is code "Tasty" for 80% off .

Only service fees we have seen are Taxes, and our tip.

Maybe you can help me with some restaurant.com info. I have used a HoB certificate before and we are eating there again this September. I am clear on all the terms of use but for one thing: the restriction to one certificate per month - is that per calendar month or per 30 day period? I did email restaurant.com to clarify but they didn't come back to me yet.

Many thanks

And yes, our only service fees were tax and the tip. The tip is sort of 'hidden' in amongst the breakdown of prices and very easy to overlook. Although I wanted to add extra anyway as we had exceptional service, I nearly paid the 18% twice as it doesn't stand out as such. Just in case this helps anyone. :goodvibes

Thats a good question. I'm also not sure as per using again in 30 day at same resturant or calender month. I do think you can use another next day at any other resturant thou. We usally only get to use 1 of those deals as our other dinning is in parks.

We use restaurant.com all the time and "most" of the restaurants are not particular on only using 1 in a 30 day period. They look at it as getting business. I think in all the years we have used the certificates, we have only had 1 or 2 tell us that they couldn't redeem it.

We went to HOB during their happy hour, 4-7 or something like that. The place was not busy yet, but we were able to stretch our certificate even further because all appetizers were 1/2 off. And since there were so many to choose from, we jsut made it an appetizer night. Way more food than we needed for a family of 4. We will definitely do that again!

The brunch is a Gospel brunch and includes performances. It's not a quiet family brunch.

I like the Elwood sandwich. Always end up getting that.

Did you enjoy the Gospel Brunch? Thinking of doing it this year I know you can't use certificates for it, but thought it looks ike a lot of fun and somethng different. I would love to hear some views on it, including how much time to put aside for it.

Regarding me question on terms of use of the certificates, I asked because we are there for the last week of september through the first week of October and wondered if I would get away with using 2 :rolleyes1 We want to eat there twice anyhow so I guess I have nothing to lost spending another $2 and if they don't let us use the second one, it's no big deal since we are going there anyway.
