#1Hockeymom I have counter envy!

I love that you are returning for a quickie...:p

With so much talk about ALK, I might just stay there for a couple of days when we arrive before our CL stay at the Poly....

I have never slept around and I think I'd like to try it.... :)

We're going to be there 11 glorious days!! I think sleeping around is in order!!!! :hyper:

Hmmmmmmmmm

BTW, Poly CL has just been wonderful. I think I'm in love.....::yes::

Thanks for the info!!! I appreciate all of the help!! Do any of you suggest splitting stays between resorts or just staying at one at a time? If you do, how do you go about planning with CL. For instance, I am thinking about splitting a stay between CR-14th and BWI-CL. Any thoughts??? Is it worth it??

The thing is, though, is we are getting ready to start building our new home, and we will be right in the middle of it. I would feel bad leaving my h here all alone to build the house, while the kids and I are off having fun. OH. . . . .who am I kidding. .he'd probably *love* the peace and quiet! LOL!

We built a house four and a half years ago. I would have sold my soul (ok...not quite) to get away for a week. Since we were the bank we had to be close....to sign checks/draws for our contractor. Actually, I think my hubby would have loved me to go away....but then how could they have proceeded without my input!

Leave....and don't feel bad! *L*

Actually, I don't think anyone got the Illuminations cruise for that time because of the rehab. Amy even stated that the Breathless is not available from 11/1 until 12/31. She's going to keep an eye out to see if any of them get back on-line sooner than expected.

Tammi

Nooooooo. I am hoping to get an Illuminations Cruise for Dec 20th. :( Guess I will ask the IPO to get a Wishes Cruise as a back up.

I definitely love splitting my stays between different resorts! I have done so on the vast majority of my trips, and it has worked out wonderfully for us. I like that you get to try more new resorts faster, and that you can plan your itinerary around which parks you will be closest to (i.e. you can visit the MK while staying at the CR and Epcot while staying at the BWI). Plus, for me it just adds to the excitement for some reason.

I am splitting my stay between AKL and Poly CL's this November/December, and I have just been working with both concierge pre-planning staffs for the part of my trip where I will be at each one. Both have been very helpful. :)

Good Sunday Morning to all! (I posted this on the Swolphin thread, but for my friends over here, I wanted to include you too!). :)

*I have lots of photos to post, and snippits of our Florida/WDW Summer 2004 journey to describe...BUT, before I delve into that, I have something else to Declare!!

DD and I are flying to LONDON & PARIS For two+ weeks after thanksgiving!! We are planning to visit numerous colleges, all of which she has interest in attending. ::yes:: Of course, on the list: Oxford, Cambridge, Westminster, etc. She has received emails, packets, and is in direct contact with an admissions officer in each location. ;)

Now...for the OTHER details! We are flying VIRGIN ATLANTIC UPPER DECK (Their first class) non~stop from LAX to Heathrow. (www.virginatlantic.com). Take a peek at the upper class SUITES we will be lounging around in...with our provided "jammies" and massages (or other SPA treatments), lounges and even power showers! We also have a inclusive chauffered private limo for transportation to/from the AP. It was the nicest offering of ANY carrier...so I reserved our flights last week. :teeth:

We'll check into the Park Lane hotel in London, where our CL Suite over looking the park will become our home base during our time in Europe. It reminds me of the Plaza, or the St. Francis properties. It is centrally located next to everything, and provides wonderfully appointed & very luxurious accomodations!

From here...we will travel to Paris for three eves at the luxury collection property:St. Regis Prince de Galles resort~Which is about 2 blocks from the Eiffel Tower, (of which our suite will provide lovely views from the balcony/windows)~! It also offers preferred executive Club level services, and will be a true TREAT!

Afterward, we are traveling via train/plane to a CASTLE for a couple of days...after all, what's Europe w/o a stay in a gorgeously preserved and well-appointed 900 YO Castle?!? We are leaning towards the Amberly Castle. We'll reserve a room with an oversized King bed and sofa, which is inclusive of breakfast, and a full three-course dinner (prepared by a top chef), plus a pillow book celebrating the 900th year for this landmark. It is listed as one of the top 10 hotel properties in the world! ;)

We will ride the LONDON EYE (British Airways Version of the FERRIS WHEEL), Where I am reserving refreshements & canapes for our tour!

We will also visit all the usual landmarks such as Harrods (*Where I MUST have the 2004 Christmas Bear!), among other things:

B. Palace & the Changing of the Guards:

& Various Museums, etc. I truly look forward to seeing Monet's garden in Giverny:

And the famous JAPANESE Bridge...

and also walk along the Champs Elysee with DD at night, under the arche de triumphe! Sipping espresso at a Paris cafe...PRICELESS!

We have purchased all of RICK STEVE's books on Amazon...and are preparing ourselves as best we can! We are anticipating a wonderful trip, and I'll be SURE to take loads of photos to show you upon our return! Just wanted you all to hear the news, and be in on our plans!
If you have any tips/hints to offer, please let me know. We are researching all of this as we go...and expanding on everything! (True Lizard style~!).

TTFN...*(Or is it CHEERS!) DF99 :wave2:

That's just unbelievable!

I think you have "taken it up a notch".....

I love England at Christmas, first husband was from Derbyshire.

You've quite an itinerary planned....when will she find time to visit the universities? *L*.....

Dreamflight, you are in for a treat! We flew those Virgin Upper Class upper deck suites this summer. They didn't have the LAX suites then, so we actually flew to SF just to get them. I have a lot of tips for you but am concerned about it being off-topic so please PM me and I'll share them. All I can say is this - it made flying wonderful!

Good afternoon all!

I have been busy with "life", and hadn't had a lot of opportunity to be on the boards (and when I did, I was lurking on the Contemporary thread:cool: ).

BT...definitely will NOT make it for the LL meet in May....DS will be gearing up for exams at that time...so couldn't pull him out of school and he would not be a happy camper if I went alone at that time!

BUT, we are going next summer. It looks like we will go July 21-July 30, 2005. Right now, we are planning on staying at the CR (Tower room, possibly 12th floor). We may want to resort hop if the AKL meet will be going on at that time. So let me know when you all get those dates down.

Now all you CR folks...tell me about 12th floor concierge light.... do you get turn down service? (really liked this at the Poly)...if so, do you get chocolate mickeys or regular chocolates like at the Poly?....breakfast items...what kinds of pastries do they have? (DS is very picky eater!)...I saw someone had Krispey Kreme there...is that still available for breakfast on 12th fl? What kinds of afternoon snacks do they have. Can you have your fridge stocked with soda/water for after 4pm? Please let me know about any/all recent 12th floor stays!

Hope everyone had a safe weekend!

Lynn

ValerieK, do not give up. The Breathless is the line being rehabbed - not the pontoons. :D

ead79--thanks for the input. I just can't decide. We stayed at the WL this past June but I was soooooooooo homesick for the Boardwalk. I just thought it would be neat to stay at the CR for a couple of days since we will be going to MVMCP and we usually spend at least a day and a half at the MK. I know I have a little time (ha!) to decide, but I like having everything in order, even over a year ahead of time!!:teeth:

Well fellow LL-enjoying my cordials tonight after a LONG hard weekend at work-saving for this trip is TORTURE(sucker) buy kids everything! I heard from Alana at BC IPO a day after I e-mailed her and she was very helpful. Actually, much more helpful than the GF (maybe I'm going to have a new favorite). She was so sweet in her e-mail to me. I'm so excited-never split a stay before. I'm liking this sleeping around-oh, I mean switching resorts. of course-I'm not that kind of girl. She's been very supportive of my DD peanut allergy, always feel bad for the baby that she can never have any snacks at the lounge-so the chef is going to help me. Getting ready for my B-Day trip at the Four Seasons Hotel-in a beautiful three bedroon suite with my DH and dearest friends. 33 is going to be a good year I think. Hoping all of you had a wonderful weekend.

DF - You are gooood!!:smooth: Just when I think we've seen the most out of you, you go ahead and top it!!! Wow! What a trip you have planned, I'm in awe!!!:worship: C'mon, tell the truth, you just had to find a way to top this summer, right?!:p

dreamflight...All I can say is WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAA!:earseek: :worship: :worship:

What a trip! yup! Just like a lizard.....
always trying to top the last trip!!!:teeth: :cloud9:

I've downloaded pics of our Dolphin suite and club level.

also.....click here for our Lounge Lizard Album!
(We'll be adding more to this one, no doubt!!)::yes::

cajunfan...Good choice, the 12th floor CR!!!!
hmmmm.....mesees you adding a couple of nights at the AKL this summer!:p

here's some pics from Janet2k's 12th floor CR CL and more CR pics here!

From what I understand you will receive all the IPO priority planning and concierge amenities, ie, extra toiletries, robes, mickey chocolates, turn-down (which you can request at any deluxe), stocked fridge (and if it isn't stocked call the desk to have it stocked!;) ), and a wonderful breakfast spread and snacks and CL desk until 4pm.
After that, simply call the 14th floor! I was at the desk with a 14th floor CM when a 12th floor guest called and she was just as cordial, chipper, and helpful to this guest as she was with us!::yes::

YES! ALANA ROCKS!:rockband:
I have started getting emails/correspondence from Travis at GF IPO. Very nice and professional, got me all the PS's and extras are being noted on our reservation.

Thinking of just getting a suite though~!
I just think we need a little more space with MIL!
Talk me into it, gang! LOL!

Oh yes! Now, remember lady lizards....sleeping around different resort concierges is perfectly acceptable and encouraged!:rotfl:

DF Wow. I'm at a loss for words. Wow. What a trip.

BT How suite it is!! You know you want it...

Now before I go to bed, had to stop by my favorite thread...

Nitey, nite lizards.....

I need one last PS, for our last night before leaving WDW. We have a PS at Boma our first night there. Our last night, I want to eat at AKL again, but can't decide; Jiko or Boma? We've yet to try either....

Opinions, please?

Kris

Good morning lizards!

Sounds like several of you are in full throttle planning mode - so much fun! It's hard to get much else done at times. Well you know how I was feeling so envious of you Christmas lizards - dreaming of a reurn trip in December? Well, DH (not your greatest WDW fan, by the way) drops a conference brochure on my pile of mail this weekend. Where? Orlando. When? Dec. 5-7. Guess who's going to Disneyworld? :bounce: There are a few details to work out like finding someone to stay with the kids (a BIG detail) and a couple of others. Now, where to stay and what's available... If you were going to spend a romantic 4 days in the world with your honey, where would you stay? I love this part!

TammiMcMan - So sorry to hear about the Illuminations cruise. I guess the pontoon boats need their annual maintenance sometime, but what a bummer. :sad1: I am not sure if we will get a chance to see Illuminations at all during our Dec. trip. :(

BambiTamby - Do you really need to be "Talked into it"? I half expect you to start a new thread - "Sweeties - or have you been bitten by the Suite Bug Yet" :rotfl:
Besides MIL will appreciate the extra space and will feel sooo pampered :cloud9:

Hope everyone is off to a great start to this wonderful day. Now where is that espresso machine?

FIRST OF ALL Dreamflight I am taking notes!::yes::
