Hi,

Quick question about check-in. I don't check in at the front desk correct? But how do I get up to the 14th floor without a card? Do I just tell one of the bellmen?

TIA!

Quick reply before I head out the door!

Kimberle....out of all the CL's the CR 14th floor check in is the most awesome.
You let them know at the gate that you have arrived for the 14th floor check-in.
When we pulled up, they rolled their carts immediately to our towncar and welcomed us.
Told us our room was ready and wisked us up, up, up to the 14th floor!
When the elevator opens, a CM will be there to great you and to take you to your room (if it is ready!).... you'll sit at the CL desk (that's in my pics) and check-in with CC# and go over your itinerary.
Since it is such a "small" concierge, you will get the speediest check-in.:teeth:

I'm hoping that the BWI CL will get an express check-in for their concierge guests soon~:sunny:

Sorry to rush in and out, big show this weekend and lots to do!
Gotta pay for all these suites! LOL!:hyper:

Big wave to all the lizards in the lounge!

Hi everyone,
I have been reading this thread with excitement as I just booked the Swan CL for 4 nights in November for a surprise 40th birthday trip for my DH.
We have stayed at the Swan twice before and at the YC @ CL once, but I'm sitting here like a dried out sponge waiting to absorb all of the hints and tidbits you experienced Swan CL-er's can throw me.
Please fill me in on all that the Swan CL has to offer (and if anyone happens to know what SPG Instant Awards are available to use my points on - I'd love to hear from you, too!)
I can't wait to hear from all of the experts out there, and thank you in advance!:Pinkbounc

Thanks, Bambi!
I'm sure looking forward to getting "spoiled"!!:teeth:

Just wanted to drop and give waves all around. :wave2:
It has been interesting reading and catching up on everyone’s plans and where they are going to stay. You all are so inspiring!

I did manage to add one more CL discount day to my stay. Now I just have to get the other two days changed. I am sure (thanks to all your kind words and support) that it will happen. I just have to keep trying.

Mmausse - How did your doctor appointment go yesterday? Did they go ahead with the Synvisc injection? How are you doing?

I have had steroid injections in both of my knees. They really have helped. However, I know what your going through is in my future. I have my next steroid injection scheduled for the week before we leave for WDW. Yeah!

Bambi Tambi - I have PM'd you.

I'm going grab a quick cup of Kona coffee and hurry back to work. Have a great day!

Hi Lizards,

I'm soooo excited, I just needed to tell somebody - and I know you can appreciate this one...

We're staying at AKL CL in November to celebrate our birthdays. My husband is having one of those birthdays that end in "0" and just wants to leave town and forget about it.

I just heard from friends who live in Las Vegas (we're in the Minneapolis/St Paul area) that they're going to meet us there as a surprise to my husband. We haven't seen them in ages.

And here's where it gets good - they'll be staying concierge level with us at AKL. I was able to book their room using my AP discount! AND there's room on the sunrise safari for them, too!

Our friends have never been to WDW and have never stayed concierge. I'm excited for them, and for us!

Now we need to get sneaky and figure out how to surprise him - hehehe --

Susan

ps: What's happened to our counters? They seem to have stop counting.

Susan! That is so exciting! What a fabulous birthday surprise!
You are all going to LOVE AKL, especially the concierge level
:earseek:
Enjoy!

Someone a few pages (probably many pages :( ) back asked for more pix from Polynesian. . .I thought I'd try and add a few of my favorites:

BTW, the last is our "personal tiki hut" be warned--I won't be happy if I find you in it when I get back from the parks! !

An finally, one of the least favorite views. . .

If I find more, I'll add them later. . . :) Until then, enjoy the images

For all those going to WDW during the holidays, you can now order a Mouskestocking or your Mousketree here!

Now all you need is a string of lights for your balcony.

Hey there, everyone.

I've seen a few posts that advise that concierge guests have access to the CL right up to the end of the evening on check-out day.

How does this exactly work? Do you just tell them at check-out that you intend to continue using the lounge through the rest of the day?

If check-out day is Saturday, does anyone know whether you can still do the sunset safari for that day if you were staying AKL CL the night before?

We are going next year around Easter and will be resort hopping POFQ- 5 nights/AKL - 3 nights. We are planning as if we will be paying full rack rates (though, of course, we are hoping for discounts!!).

I am now thinking of making only the first two days of our AKL stay concierge level and book a standard AKL room for the last night. We'd save over $300 at rack rates but we'd still have access to the CL throughout the day following our second AKL night. (Our last night AKL night is the Saturday before Easter, so we'd probably prefer to do an Easter bruch instead of breakfast that morning at the CL anyways.)

Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Mech8t7: I know CL privileges last until midnight after checkout, but I don't know how that works, exactly. I do plan to use it; we're coming back for a snack in the lounge before driving out after the parks.

You should definitely be able to do the Sunrise Safari on your last morning, because it's at 7 a.m., and check out isn't until 11.

I understand what you're saying about switching to a standard room for your last night; I suppose it would still work. Breakfast at Boma sounds phenomenal if you thought of considering that for Easter brunch. Or maybe the Gospel brunch that morning, that would probably be amazing on Easter Sunday!

We're hopping almost the same as you; we're at POR 5 nights, then AKL 2...I'm so looking forward to it!

Tess, I love your Poly pics. I want to get that shot with the monorail passing over, what a beauty that is! I had to remind DH again today that we're bringing his work laptop, and he has to have his techhie install our software for the camera (it's locked for downloads and installations). He's so funny....do you think we really need it? Yeah, honey, okay. 8 days in Disney World with one 256K card?? I took over 300 pictures in one weekend's camping trip this summer. Why? Because you CAN with digital!!

Susan, that's a beautiful surprise, way to go! You're going to love it!

Angel, I'm glad you got your discount. Still plugging away with mine, no luck. Lots of time yet, I guess.

ead79, glad you like the surprise idea for the kids! I'm so happy to be trying all these restaurants, too! I tried to fit in Artist Point and couldn't make it, but we are having dinner at Ohana one night! I didn't really think of Kona, but I'm going to check it out this trip and possibly we'll get it next time! I'm still trying to talk my mother into going on an all-girl trip with me in May.

Happily,

Kris

Thank you ALL for your great advice and words of wisdom. Just got back from our BEST EVER stay at the World. They did upgrade our room to the deluxe room as we originally requested which was perfect. Even though we didn't stay on the 7th floor we were still entitled to all the cool emenities and access. We were in room 5169 (right on the end facing the lake-outstanding view of the Water Pagent)
BTW I LOVED :lovestruc The Tuxedo strawberries. My DH got some Champaign to go with and it was PERFECT!!!

Can I tell you the place was empty. I have never seen it this empty before in my life. The weather was perfect, the slide was fixed, and HUMPHREY is THE BEAR!!!! We rubbed his nose as soon as we arrived and everytime we came through the lobby. We was definately our lucky bear. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation right down to our Once Upon a Time Breakfast on Saturday morning! (not too bad considering I didn't request that until last wednesday)

My niece had a great time and she didn't want to leave this afternoon to go back to California.

I will try and post a few pictures when I get some of my laundry done!!!

Thanks again!!!!!!!!

OMG, why is this so tough??? As many times as we've been to WDW, planning these trips should be a breeze, but you all keep reminding me of other things I want to try! We're still trying to work out the itinerary for when my in-laws join us. There are WAY too many good restaurants and not nearly enough meals to sample them all! MIL & FIL will only be with us for 4 days, so we have to choose wisely. Hopefully this mini-trip will entice them to return in less than 20 years next time!

So glad you had a wonderful trip, Mickeygirl! Now you can being planning the next one!

Elizabeth>> I peeked at your pictures this morning. THANK YOU! They look wonderful and I believe we'll have a fun filled four days!

SteveandDonna>> Isn't that why we all keep going back? I haven't seen it all, you haven't seen it all. Has anyone? I guess we need to go back and check a few more things off of our lists! :)

Beautiful pictures, Tess! I love the looks in the last one! Yes, that is how we all feel!

Mmause>> Still keeping you in my prayers that you have a quicker recovery than you are currently having. Please keep us updated.

VaGal and Woody'sroundup>> WHERE ARE YOU? Sending good thoughts your way.

Good night lizards!
Debbie

Hey Lizards!! I leave for Bc concierge tomorow!! (FINALLY!!!!!!):sunny:

We are only going for 3 nights (we were suppose to stay 5 nights in a regular room), but I guess any trip is a good trip right??!
Good luck to anyone else planning also!!! :teeth:

tnkrbell-
I am anxious to hear what you have to say when you return. We are going to the BC CL for the first time in Dec. We've been spoiled by the Poly. If you pick up any hints, please take note and share them when you return. I can hardly wait to see my grandbabies (6,4, 6 months) in SAB and eating a Kitchen Sink. By the way, does anyone know how much they cost? JJ:tongue:

We just did the BC CL last week of August. The CL was great, and all of the resort CMs were friendly and helpful.

Check-in was a breeze and even though the lounge was closed at the time, a CM got cold drinks for all of us.

Oh yeah, don't forget to look for the hidden Mickey in the light above the elevator on the fifth floor. There are also hidden Mickey's in the carpet in front of the fifth floor elevators, in the wallpaper in the room, and in the bedspread.

The whole resort was just so relaxing, with a casual elegant flare.

SAB was great, but I will tell you it is big, really big. And since it meanders around, it is not easy to keep track of kids, if they wander. We "lost" my son for about 20 minutes one afternoon, since he went swimming off somewhere.

Beaches and Cream is really nice, but loud and small. The kitchen sink is huge. They say it is 8 scoops of ice cream, but it somehow seems much bigger. And it all starts to melt together, since it has hot fudge and hot butterscotch toppings, along with many more.

I just discovered an email from IPO unread in my deleted items folder!!! Somehow it got junked with my spams! It came in yesterday morning at 8:30! Here I've been feeling neglected and unloved, thinking, oh, I should just go ahead and make the PSs myself for those last couple of meals we threw in, blah blah!

Juanita got back to me the moment she got to work, from the looks of it! I'm abashed and horrified!

I have created a message rule that anything from AKL goes straight to my DISNEY folder, flagged, and highlighted in RED!!

Kris

Glad to hear your trip was wonderful.

I am leaving Friday morning, and am wondering if we are going to get all of the people that weren't there on your vacation? I sure hope not. Did anyone hear about when everyone was rescheduling?

Anyway I'm sure we will have a blast! after all we will be @ WDW!!! :Pinkbounc

inthemood: I just got off the phone with CRO and the cm told me that alot of last week's guests rescheduled for mid-November. So, you should be fine. Have a fabulous trip.

I tried to get something for November 11 - November 14 and there's nothing available. CM said something about it being the end of the F&W Festival.
