Good Morning Lizards! Off to DD's nursery school annual picnic... It is actually a nice day here today! Nothing like keeping your eye on 60 or so preschoolers!! Pour me an extra cup of coffee, would ya guys!! :p

Woody: I just read what happened. I am so sorry to hear about it!!! You and your family will be in my prayers!

to you, WoodysRU, I'm so sorry you have to go through this hard, hard thing. Try to take comfort in the support & prayers of all the people who care about you. You are definitely in our prayers.

Steffy can I come work with you? What a wonderful, thoughtful wedding gift!

Started making our Aug. plans - DH ticked off a list of where he wants to eat and reminded me he wants to do BOTH e-ride nights, so I think our itinerary will fall into place quickly!

Woody...I am SO very sorry to hear what happened. My heart is just breaking for you. Know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Woodysroundup - oh, sweetie! I'm so very sorry for your loss. :sad1: I can't begin to imagine how you must feel. All I can do is give you a healing  and keep you in my prayers. We are here if you need us.

Goodferry - I just confirmed with my airline and they are advising you put camera film in your carry on as the x-ray machines for checked baggage can erase it. If you have a video camera, the tapes should be fine in checked baggage though.

 - Hi, Jacksmom! We've heard some good things on SL CL @ GF. Sorry, I can't help with any specific details!

Ok...think I have a little *free* time to share some details of our trip with all of you. I will try to remember as much as I can but my brain seems to be failing me this morning. ;)

When we arrived at the Poly last Saturday I was a little upset with how they handled everything when we pulled up out front. Maybe I was expecting too much? It by no means ruined the day, just wasn't what I thought it would be. I assumed we'd be taken by a golf cart to the Hawaii building but that wasn't the case. After speaking with 2 different people we were told how to walk back there and they'd bring our bags back later. I'm not the pushy type and didn't want to make a big deal out of nothing so we walked back to the building, which wasn't bad at all, as I'm sure most of you already know. I LOVED the lobby in the GCH...very pretty and relaxing. Our room wasn't quite ready so we walked around for a while until we could get our room. Didn't take long, maybe about 45 minutes or so. Our room...I LOVED it! I had heard they were big but I didn't expect that much room. We went to DTD for the evening and when we returned a few hours later, our beds had been turned down, chocolates left on our pillows plus they had left us a welcome card, a giant chocolate bar with a picture of the resort on the front, a huge fruit basket and a Happy Anniversary certificate with Tinkerbell on it. We LOVED the lounge. It was so nice to sit there with our snacks and watch the boats or look at the castle. All of the CM's we came in contact with were very helpful and friendly. I saw a few strollers with lime green ribbons on them but they were always just sitting there with no one around so I never got to meet anyone. I know Catnik was there at the same time but as far as I know, I never saw her. Goodferry was also checking in on Friday afternoon and I kept looking for her red hair that she told me about but I never spotted her.
Wednesday we went to E-ride night with our oldest son and had the best time. No lines for any of the attractions, which was nice because all of the parks were jammed packed for our entire stay. It was HOT everyday. Last Monday evening DH and I went on a carriage ride and it was 97 degrees with a heat index of around 105. The volcano pool was nice, crowded everyday but not bad enough that we couldn't enjoy ourselves. Had a hard time finding a table but we'd never sit at one anyway because our 19 month old DS keeps us running around most of the time anyway. I really loved the resort and CL. I kept asking DH if he liked it, if he thought it was worth the extra money and everytime his answer was "yes, definitely!" We will be returning next October and definitely staying CL again. I'd like to maybe try a different resort but we loved the Poly so much that's probably where we'll end up staying again.

I can't remember who offered to do a few loads of my laundry...couldn't find the post. But if the offer still stands...here's a big pile of it for you. Now with that out of the way, I can sit back and dream about being back at the Poly on the beach watching the castle................

Good Morning Lizards,

I have been busy over the last couple of days. Mom is doing fine and is resting at home. The doctors decided to put a Pacemaker in on Wednesday. I am so glad she is home. My son graduates on tomorrow (WooHoo) we are so excited. Can you believe that he didn't want a party, he'd rather go to the beach with his mama. So we are going to the Jersey Shore on Thursday for a long weekend.

I can't wait until we go to Disney World. I can't wait to stay at the Poly. I can't wait to stay concierge.

Luckywife - Welcome back!!!!! Can't wait to hear ALL of the Details........

Woody - I am so sorry for your loss. Your family will continue to be in my prayers.

steveanddonna - Continued prayers to you and your family.

*LOL* sent 2 emails to CR concierge and haven't heard a thing!
Got a letter on Friday welcoming me and suggesting I either email (same address) or call.

Guess I'll have to call later today! I don't have much yet, just a couple of character PS's. I'm not really sure of what to ask for other than PS.......

Kimberle: We are leaving a few weeks after you... I just sent an email today... let's see if I get a return email or not! I know that it was early still... but it feels like the vacation will come sooner if I start making all these PS's!!!! :Pinkbounc

Can't hang around the lounge today.:(

Busy weekend...hopefully busier week!
Lots to do before we leave!

Luckywife...WELCOME BACK to the LIZARD LOUNGE!!!!!:wave2:

Woody....I sent you a PM.

Vagal...I'll be calling you later today to "tweek" our cruise!;)

Sorry so late. You are in our prayers.

After putting my 1 and 2yr. olds to bed last night, I developed some severe back pain. I have some sad news to report. As soon as I began to reach for the Tylenol, I began the process of miscarrying our pregnancy. We'd made it this far (almost til Monday's appt.), and I was already getting a big stomach (3 pregnancies in a row). That along with the fact that my morn. sickness was SO strong, I thought we were going to be okay. I guess it wasn't in the "plan" for us. Needless to say, we are very sad. It's been a rough 24 hrs.

Please know, my thoughts are with you and your family.

Tammy Great news about your mom - my aunt had a pacemaker put in last July. She's 87 and she is truly a new woman - up & down stairs like crazy, planted her garden yesterday, keeps her house cleaner than I do mine! BTW, thanks for the prayers for my cousin as well.

luckywife so glad you enjoyed Poly CL. We too have found little things tend to go amiss when they are very busy, but nothing that has truly diminished our enjoyment. I know how it is wanting and not wanting to try a new resort - we've been in our "rut" since 1991!

Actually we're paying for two nights, so that we can stay late and not have to check out until the evening....but we'll only sleep there one night....i always do that on overlap days....pay for two rooms so that i don't have time that i'm 'homeless'....
Us TOO!!~We do this wherever "late" check-out is not offered. We are able to stay until 4pm at the PBH, (platinum Amex w/suite priv), and they never balk when we "stretch" it a bit! (LOL).

Have you experienced Spiderman? It's our FAV in the IOA. DD rides this numerous/consecutive times, and never tires. With the FOTLA...it's optimal. We also LOVE Shrek...and know you will too. ::yes:: I'm glad you postponed the Japan excursion (SARS...ugh). That was a wise decision. Hopefully, Dec. will work out for you, and you will be able to post a "comparison" of sorts! ;)

*(Loved the description of your physical condition at the time UPS delivered the Cruise DOCS! Gotta love 'em...they always catch me in a similar setting!) :teeth: :rotfl:

woodysRoundup...~There are no words sufficient to express the deep sadness I feel regarding your tragic and unexpected loss. Your post brought back vivid memories of a similar time for me. It is the most disheartening experience, and I wish you the strength and faith necessary to perservere. You remain in my heart and prayers.

BambiTamby~Have fun "tweaking" the details w/Val...wish It was a "Three-way" phone call! Maybe...in the future. :goodvibes XO

tammy~Great news about your DM. Thank you for posting an update on her condition. Congrats to your DS on his accomplishment! How wonderful it is to read he prefers to spend time at the shore with you, vs. a Party w/friends. This sounds like DD, as she would rather "Cruise" with DH & I, than have a party. Although, her BD parties supply all the "excitement & fun" she could ever desire! ::yes::

Luckywife~Glad to have you BACK!! Someone offered to do your laundry? What a saint!! Happy to read you enjoyed the Poly Concierge, and plan to return. The details you posted made my heart sing! I LOVED  reading of the myriad of MAGICAL surprises discovered upon returning to your room. I'll bet your DH was bowled-over by the Fab treatment. Mine also appreciates all the perks associated with this level of service. Watching the Castle from the beach...absolutely PRICELESS!! Happy Belated Anniversary~!

 A BIG ROOM WAVE to steveanddonna, wdwfan, Majestic, annamonte, Kimberle, VAgal76,#1hockeymom, Tess, Tink, LovesDumbo, and all the other LIZARDS! :grouphug:

Enjoy the week! TTFN,

Awah...... I'm starting to feel "pampered"! princess:

Called Concierge, got machine & left a message. About an hour later, Trey called back.

I gave him my short list of PS's (including CRT). He was able to book everything for me eventhough we are not quite at 90 days! It was great! I had my pick of all times! BIG change from rushing .... Cindys......xxxdate...... just give me whatever you got for 3! :p

I told him I'd sent 2 emails. Apparently, they never got them. I double checked the address, and it was correct. Strange....

:teeth: :wave2:

Oh, one other thing he told me. There are only 3 rooms in our "class" (I'm guessing a regular room vs. a suite). I requested a late check out and he said they wouldn't be able to tell me until our check in. No wonder, these rooms are almost impossible to get!

mmausse, Terri has left the Boardwalk and gone over to event planning off ice. It was something she really wanted to do. I am go8ing to miss her in Oct. I did get to see her in March though. Stephanie was in the IPO, she was our planner for 2 trips, but she is now at the BWI and she is great also.
I know others try different resorts CL, and I have too, but the BWI is now my "home". I love the area and the cast there.

Kerry, thank's for the update on Terri. I shall miss her but I glad it is something she wanted. She got some sort of award for "outstanding CM" while I was there in Feb. it involved balloons and such. She was SOOO very embarrassed by it all.

I, too, acn't wait for another trip to BWI!

i'm not sure if i mentioned it, but we're also going to the portofino bay concierge (at universal).....i upgraded that reservation as well.....so i'll be able to make a comparison...

so this is our final itinerary:
Portofino Bay concierge (1 night)
AKL concierge (3 nights)
GF RPC concierge (3 nights)
DCL Wonder concierge (4 nights)
WL concierge (3 nights)

ta da.....as for extra stuff reserved:
Sunrise Safari at AK
Segway tour at Epcot
Banana boat ride at CC (on cruise)
Palo's brunch on cruise

any other neat tours/attractions i should think about?

Glad to hear you'll only be at Portofino 1 night. In Dec 2002, I booked CL at Portofino for 1 week prior to my 30 day stay at GF CL. I ended up only staying 1.5 days at Portofino - the 1st CL suite they put me in was nice - King size 4-poster with.........blood stained sheets. ICK and EEW. Thank goodness I hadn't unpacked. They moved me to a second CL suite that I did unpack in and I went to the parks. I returned about 3 hours later to find massive ants all over - the furniture, the bedding, my unpacked clothes....

Can we all join in for another EEK, ICK and GROSS!!

I promptly called GF CL, spoke with the desk manager and they were able to put me into the Walt Disney Suite for the remainder of the 5 days. Portofino apologized profusely after I complained profusely and they reimbursed my WD Suite.

There is NO comparison to WDW resorts in the Orlando area; everyone else is a "wanna-be."

Hi everyone!

Here is a great reason to visit New Orleans in July! The week immediately following the 4th, RC is offering CL rooms at $189/night (with tax and fees it comes out to about $215/night; valet parking is steep--$20-$25/night  )

DH and I stayed CL there last year for our first anniversary, and it was incredible. There are 5 delicious food and beverage presentations daily; champagne and liquor are also complimentary in the lounge. The rooms are breathtaking.

DH and I are staying this July. . .we couldn't stay away with a deal like that!

The Spa there is supposed to be the best in the RC chain! Just wanted to let you Lounge Lizards in on this great deal. The R-C New Orleans really is a destination unto itself--you can really "lounge" there.

Check it out if you are interested:

Go to "Online reservations", and put in your dates. You won't regret it

This is good news. We did not have a mini bar in March, so they must have added this in the last couple of months. At least a fridge can be requested and is considered complimentary now. When you pay extra for concierge, these "little" complimentary additions are a nice touch.

I was at BWI CL in Feb of this year and stayed in a Garden Suite. All Garden Suites have permanent fridges in them. I'm hooked now on the Garden Suites - even if I vacation alone - they're wonderfully quiet and peaceful and tranquil. (ok I'm a bit redundant, c'est la vie).

By the way, has anyone experienced a anniversary dinner at Narcoossee's? We are arriving on the day of our anniversary (7/15), and the GF RPC IPO's have set up our dinner there. I asked if they have a special dessert (like cake or something) that I could pre-order as a surprise for my family. I haven't heard back yet but wondered if anyone else has done something special there. We have never eaten here, so I am not familiar with what may be available.

I celebrated NYE 2001 there and they had FABULOUS, mouth-watering desserts. Rich chocolate almond torte - with designs of the GF. Chocolate cigars with various liquers inside. Eiffel towers made of spun sugar and chocolate. OK, so the GF chef is famous for his chocolate. To be honest, I can't tell you how anything tasted - I'm allergic to alcohol, chocolate, and nuts. But it all looked so beautiful, I didn't have the heart to tell them. You can call the GF directly and ask to speak to the chef - he'll make anything you want.
Thanks. [/B][/QUOTE]

Congrats Kimberle on your scheduling going smoothly! I can't wait to hear the real scoop on the 14th floor!

aesalsa>> Sounds fabulous! New Orleans is on my list, but w/o kids!

Mmausse>> EWWWWWY! Glad you spoke your mind on that, and that you were able to get the suite comped by PBR! You deserved it, that is for sure!

Big wave to DF! I love living vicariously through your vacations! Keep them coming!

A bunch of lizards are about to head to the world! Oh, you're all going to have a wonderful time! I wish we had a camera/sound for that sunset safari! You guys could give us a play by play of the entire trip! :):hyper:

luckywife>> Sounds like they didn't handle your arrival correctly, but glad it didn't ruin your vacation! btw.. your whites just came out of the dryer, the darks are in the washer right now! :)

woody>> Continued prayers and hugs for you. Left you some hot tea and B&J ice cream on the sideboard.

To each and every one of you... BIG WAVE and have a great week! The pool is officially OPEN! (can't swim quite yet, but open!)

Debbie
