Good evening lizards!

My- so much news in the lounge lately. Keep all those babies - both invitro and out - healthy. My family is finally crud-free and it's a good thing since WE LEAVE IN 8 DAYS!!! Looks like the other Octoberians are also pulling out the luggage and hope hockeymom is enjoying herself!

I got great news from GF today - my dad will be the veteran during the flag retreat ceremony at MK. Thank you, nrsldy ! I can't imagine a better birthday gift for him.

Still trying to get our 1st night at BWI garden suite for our anniversary trip in Dec. DH was so sweet about my BIG mistake. He just said that anywhere is ok as long as he's with me. Awww!

My Twins lost a heart-breaker last night. I'll be at the games Friday and Saturday-look for me in the crowd! LOL!

In the spirit of baseball, check the lounge for peanuts, kettle corn and ice cold beer! Go TWINS!!!

Thank you everyone for the ideas. I found out from my son tonight the reason everyone backed out. My dear sweet husband has a surprise planned for me that night. I don't know what, but Jimmy just said not to be so disappointed about the cruise. So I will cancel it tomorrow morning.

lovesdumbo and k&a&c's mom speaking as a retired teacher, don't worry about missing the PT meeting. It never failed, it would always be the good students whose parents came faithfully, and the ones that should be there were not! It is nicer meeting the parent at a different time because you will not feel rushed knowing another parent is waiting to meet with the teacher.

minniesota-AAAWWW. That was so sweet of your husband to say. Sending tons of PD your way for that first night at the BWI suite!:wizard: :wizard:
KerryCM-that was so sweet of you to offer to knit things for our LL mommies to be ( really concierge babies in the making, of course)
Hope all of you make the right decision for yourselves about the flu shot-sorry if I seemed pushy before ,but it is so upsetting to see pregnant patients with the flu! Hard enough to be pregnant, but the flu, YUCK
Well, as I said about the germs in kindergarten-my DD had a little bellyache today and started with that little tight cough- the cough that is nebulizer worthy! Please, no more missed school. I feel guilty enough that I am taking them out of school for a week.
Bambi- We'll be missing you around the lounge! Hope your jewelry show and cancer fundraiser goes well! I can't wait until I can hear all about that wonderful Suite!
PD to CaliforniaDreamer- hope you feel well soon.
:wizard:
Well, I hope everyone else is feeling better. I hate to say this, But-I have a sore throat today:mad: I hate to be sick and I can NOT contaminate my family. We are leaving soon!
LovesDumbo- We're getting SO close! Hope your kids are feeling better real soon.
I don't know about these cordials in the LL-all these pregnant people. Well, two kids is plenty for me! I'll just enjoy listening to all the future mommies.

Minniesota:
I am so glad you were able to arrange the flag ceremony for your Dad. Great things are a happening!
::yes:: ::yes::
I have been looking for something special for my ds during our trip. Don @ AKL suggested the Seas Aqua Tour. Does anyone know anything about this? Or does anyone have any suggestions for a 25 yo?
Thanks

CaliDreamer - Thanks for the flu shot info - I had seen the Chiron report the other night, and DH and I looked at each other and winced (contamination report.) We had just found out that Vioxx, Celebrex and Bextra were being pulled off the mkt. and we've taken all three for arthritis. Plus, I'm one of the thousands in the class action for Fen-Phen (moderate mitral valve regurg.) Needless to say, our faith in the FDA has been a little lacking of late. I will pass on your info to DH, I'll probably go ahead and get the shot (he's not in the priority group.)

Kerry - *clapping* Goody, goody, gumdrops!! A suprise for you, I'm so happy!! You're always so busy planning surprises for everyone else, myself included!! Also, thanks for the kind words re: p/t conf. - it makes me feel less like a worthless parent! You have such a gift for soothing words.

BambiDear - Best of luck on your show and the fundraiser - be sure you get plenty of rest in there somewhere, 'kay?! We can't have our fearless leader prostrate with exhaustion!princess:

A big room wave to everyone, :thewave: nighty-night!!

Good morning!

Up early again this morning to call CRO and I GOT MY FIRST NIGHT BACK at BWI garden suites!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: Thank you for all the PD. Now if the Twins can beat the Yankees tonight, you can peel me off the ceiling lounge Saturday morning! Yipee!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Good morning!

Just a quick question... we're staying at AKL CL in November. It turns out that some friends will be in the area for business, and other friends will be in Orlando staying off property.

Is it okay to have guests up to the concierge lounge? I'm sure they need to be escorted, but is it okay to invite our friends to the lounge for a drink? Or maybe its okay to come and look, but no drinking/eating?

Many thanks
Susan

Hmmm...do you think all the coridals we're always enjoying contributed to the number of expectant parents in this liunge?;)

WoooHooo :thewave: Great news minniesota.
I will be cheering your Twins on tonight too! The Sox should win, but you never know!!! Jimmy and Jim will be spending lots of time at the ESPN club if the sox move on to the next round.

After chasing a 23 month baby around I now know why women my age don't have babies!!!! I love being a grandmother now.

Ok ne mommies to be, what colors are you looking for in balnkets and sweaters. My Warm Up America blankets are just about done and I will start baby things next. It keeps my mind of radiation and the next round of "is it or isn't it" with my oncologist!!!

Susan - Welcome the lounge! This is not an easy question to answer. The lounge is reserved for concierge guests only. While it's nice to take others to your room to enjoy the view, I really don't know if it would "upset" others if they to bring non-concierge resort guests by the lounge. IMO I don't think it would be appropriate to bring five or six people to the lounge, but you might be able to have one or two in for a one time visit. Meaning, I wouldn't have one or two in each night either. The CMs do get to know you when you check in. While they may turn a blind eye for one evening, I don't think they would do so each evening. If you have a small crowd it may be better idea to have an evening at Jiko's or arrange for private dining somewhere at the resort for a nice, private time together.

This is an amazing resort with many places to congregate that have beautiful views. I hope I've answered this on.

Well, I tried to get the flu shot but unfortunately my ob ordered from UK so now they don't have any. I may have to try the health department. They do recommend them for pregnant women though. My kids were able to get an appointment for theirs on the 23rd so at least they will be "safe."

We leave in 6 days for my surprise birthday trip. Won't tell the boys till we hit the airport parking lot. Will anyone else be there too---10/14-18? We'll be at WL 1st 2 nts, then CR last 2 and MNSSHP on Sun the 17th.

Hope everyone's feeling better, especially the kids---mine ALWAYS get the stomach viruses. So glad they have denim comforters--everything washes out!

Kerrycm--you are so sweet to think of all of us expecting. I'm hoping for pink colors this time, we'll find out in about 8 weeks! Sounds like it is finally your turn for a surprise----can't wait to hear all about it! Have a great trip!

Oh, having Feralpeg set up some goodies for the boys so I'll let you know how they turn out---personalized Mickey ghost trick or treat bags with candy----very reasonable prices. Hopefully she does stockings for Dec.

Also, found Disney christmas cards for $1 per 10 count package at Dollar Tree. Now we'll just need a great pic at WDW. I think our cards will cost less than the stamps this year!---Perfect for a preggo like me!

Have a great day lizards---leaving out lots of Halloween candy, including the Sugar Babies that DS2 picked out---just read eating chocolate while pregnant may lead to babies who smile a lot---guess that explains my smiley ds2!

Maybe this is a question that you should put to whoever manages the CL at AKL. My guess would be that they wouldn't allow it but maybe they allow non-resort guests for an additional fee. IMO, I wouldn't want to put the CMs in the awkward position of trying to get kick your guests out or dealing with other CL guests who complain about it if the policy is registered AKL CL guests only.

If the AKL policy is no outside guests and you are looking for what the views of DISers would be, you might want to take a look at some of the recent threads on the Poly CL where people have complained about suspected use of the CL by non-guests and abuse of the CL priviliges by fellow CL guests. Most of us (especially those, like me, that are anticipating paying rack rate for CL) are having a difficult enough time trying to justify the cost for CL access and I would be a little upset if I saw that others were hosting their own guests at the CL.

Anyways, that's just my two cents. (Here's hoping that this topic doesn't start to look like a "refillable mug" discussion thread.)

before I head off to the airport....

MNSusan.....Vagal gave you some great advice!

I would take them upstairs to "tour" the CL (ask first) and then, a nice dinner at Jiko's or Boma's. Have IPO set it up for you, too!;)

Annette Grechi (Jiko Chef) can put together a fabulous meal/wine pairing for your party in a separate area at Jiko's!
Vagal meet her and Chef Denise when we did the Wanyama Safari, and they are both so accomodating and eager to please!

Another idea....you could book the whole van for the Wanyama Safari ! What a treat!
(that's what we did!)::yes::

Have a wonderful weekend ya'll!

a little humor from the "Pool hopping" Parody thread.......

cousineddie.jpg

Clark : Real tomato ketchup, Eddie?
Cousin Eddie : Oh, nothing but the best.

Cousin Eddie : I don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper. It does just fine by itself, huh? I like it better than tuna helper myself, don't you, Clark?
Clark : You're the gourmet around here, Eddie.

Aunt Edna : Why don't you just ask him for the money, Eddie? He sure as Hell can't take a hint.
Cousin Eddie : Well, I didn't want to ask you, Clark, you know, but could you maybe spare a little extra cash?
Clark : Sure, Eddie, how much do you need?
Cousin Eddie : About fifty-two thousand dollars.

Poor ol' Cousin Eddie.....CL's WORST Nightmare!!!! LOL!!!!:teeth:

Hello everyone. Boy I go away on business for part of the week, and come back to like 10 pages of postings!

Took me a looooooong time to go through it all, and of course I had to read through Goofy's Muse's trip report and everyone's comments.

First let me say CONGRATULATIONS!!! to all the expectant mothers and to Fred on the arrival of his newest sweetie.

Sounds like this place could use a bit more Prayers and PD to help finally get rid of the crud going around here.

Well back to work

BT - :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: That pool-hopping thread has had me laughing for days!! Thanks for the reminder!:teeth:

Welcome home, GoofyJoofy!

BT - Oh, that is too much!

:rotfl: ROTFL!!!! :rotfl:

We do have a lot moms expecting new lizards. I was waiting for all the announcements to come in before saying Congrats! to all you out there. I do agree with Donna...I don't think it's just the water in the lounge...it maybe a little too much of the offerings :drinking1 - hehehehe :teeth:!

I guess I should really watch myself next time I go. :p

Minniesota - I'm so glad you got the Garden Suite back! YYYYEEEAAAHHHH!!!!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:
