I am getting over a cold which I've had since Sunday. Thankfully, DD and DH have not caught it:teeth:
Have a great day - and Magical vacations for all who are on their way:wave2:

WoodysRoundup, floridafam, lindeyspol my OBGYN suggested that I get a flu shot this winter.
Did you get this recommendatioin as well and if so, will you be getting one?

Yeaaahhh, BT, on the Yellowstone Suite!!! :cheer2:

Can't wait to hear a report on WL. :D

I'm sorry you still have the "crud" going around. I'm glad Debbie stopped in with chicken soup before leaving.

Looks like we have quite a few of you leaving out. You all have a wonderful time and don't forget to toast to us lizards here at home! :drinking1 We wish we could be there with you. :teleport:

Not exactly wide eyed this am as DS was up til 4am "getting sick". I had to change his sheets 3 times last night. He's had "the crud" this week but I didn't expect this. I wonder if this is the flu?? Right now he's on the couch with saltines. desiab... Funny that you should mention the flu shot. I've been thinking about it myself. My mom is a nurse and personally doesn't believe in them b/c they don't protect agains every flu strain. I have never had a flu shot but have read in a number of places that pregnant women should consider getting one. My OB did not reccommend it to me, but I think I may call and specifically ask. What are you going to do?

Bambi... The sleigh ride sounds awesome. I look forward to your CL report from WL!

Happy Thursday!!! DS needs me now!

WoodysRoundup I am sooo sorry for your little one (and you!) Poor little guy:( I hope it doesn't last a minute longer...

BT CONGRATS on the Yosemite Suite:teeth: I think you've ended up in the perfect place at the perfect time of year::yes::

PD to all who need it:wave2:

Hello LL- How are all of you today?
I see Woody's DS needs a lot of pixie dust today:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: I hate those stomach bugs, but no, its not the flu. The flu itself has respiratory symptoms, high fever, aches, etc. I am going to go out on a limb here and say YES to you pregnant girls getting the FLU SHOT! Nothing worse than a pregnant girl with pneumonia, which I see a few of every year.
I'm so excited for #1 Hockeymom in Disney right now.
I'm still trying to switch my first day to concierge. Could I request some PD here. Please.
Hey I just got $500.00 bucks today in the mail for my NJ Property Relief-Watch how fast I can convert that to Disney Bucks:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Have a great day all.

 Big room wave to all the LL. I've been real busy with work so no time to post.

Majestic-she is BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for sharing!

Lots of P & PD to mmause!

To all you pregnant gals: I've got 2 January babies and I got the flu shot with both with no ill side effects. I think you need to be past your 1st trimester.

I best get back to work. I'll grab a coke on the way out of the lounge-the water's not safe around here. 3 babies are enough for me.

Tonight I go to my first Open House at school as a parent.

I can so relate! My kids have colds now and I'm hoping they'll be all better real soon and then just stay healthy til the 22nd.

desiab - I normally get a flu shot every year, and usually a pneumonia shot as well, due to asthma. I've never had a problem, nor has my husband, who also gets them every year. Can't comment on the pregnancy related issue, as I wasn't getting flu shots during the years I was pregnant. Side note: I'm almost afraid to get the flu shot this year, with the problems they've been having producing them, but that's just my own thing. I'm sure it's nothing, I'm just a little leery lately, what with so many of my medications being yanked off the market and health warnings issued!:worried: But, if your OB is recommending it, I would take your Dr.'s advice.::yes::

WoodysRU - Hey!!:wave2: Hope your little guy gets well real quick!! Nothing is worse than a sick child, huh?!

BT - SCORE!! So glad you've got your suite reserved! Can't wait for your report on WL CL!!:teeth:

lovesdumbo - Good luck at your very first Open House!! Our parent/teacher meetings are coming up, but DD and I are going to WDW!:earseek: Sorry, all teacher LL's! I've kind of given up going in the last couple of years, the teachers and I never have much to say to one another - luckily, my kids get really good grades. I've spent many a meeting with the teacher and I looking around the room until I say, "well, see ya next year!" (As you can see, I'm building up a good rationale for going to WDW instead of p/t meetings! Trying to assuage the guilt!);)

I am going to be canceling our Illuminations Cruise:( Everyone has backed out and now Jim said there is no point in the 2 of us doing it. I was trying to surprise him, but it didn't work out. I am going to have to think of another special surprise for him!

Anyone going at this time or know anyone going that may want it let me know before I tell Alana. I am kind of bummed, but did it in MArch with the girls.

Hope everyone is feeling better and all of our mommies to be are feeling great! I love knitting so send me adresses and I will make sweaters and blankets for the new little ones! That is my relaxation therapy so you will all be helping me out!!!

We are missing ours too! I was feeling guilty about DD missing 6 days of school then I got the calendar and found out she doesn't have school 2 days for the parent/teacher conferences. I spoke to her teacher and she said she's always looking for someone to meet at some other time. So I guess it works out well for all. I'm anxious to hear how DD's doing in school (tonight is not the night for that) as she won't talk about it at home (I hear more 3rd hand from my MIL & SIL) and she hasn't brought much home-I guess I'll see some of her work tonight.

Grabbing another coke (and cookie) to help me stay awake!

Ohhh, Kerry, that's too bad!:( You know, DD and I did it, just the two of us, and had a great time. But, that may not be something you guys want to do, just a thought. After we left the dock, I told DD we should have asked anybody in the lounge if they wanted to go with us - I'd been sick that day, though, so maybe it was best we didn't think of it!! Hope the rest of your plans go off without a hitch and you have a fantastic time, you deserve it!

lovesdumbo - Thanks!! You've given me a little relief from the guilt, as I do speak with most of the teachers throughout the year.*highfive*

Liz hope your new "baby" turns out as well as our first rescued wild kitties. They were 4 weeks old, bottle-fed like yours. We rescued a litter of four babies, and couldn't convince the mama to come along. India (now deceased) and his brother, dB, are the best, most loving cats we ever had.

KerryCM you are so sweet - what a wonderful gift for those babies! (the human ones, not the furry ones, though my aunt crocheted a throw for our cats!) A handmade gift is such a treasure.

Kerry, can you turn the cruise into something romantic for the 2 of you? Maybe with Alana's help you can arrange for some yummy desserts and a bottle of wine or champagne. Jim might not realize that it can be much more than just a boat ride. How about a portable CD player with a little Josh Groban in the background? :charac2:

Tammi

Woody, I hope your little one feels better soon! Those kind of bugs are just the worst! I hope you avoid it as well.

KerryCM, how about some chocolate covered strawberries and champagne waiting in the room after a romantic dinner out (perhaps V&A's, Narcoosee's, Artist Point, etc.).

Thanks to ALL for the well wishes for DS. As samnbilly said, these little ones are exposed to everything in school!!! He's a bit perkier now with just a low grade fever.

lovesdumbo, desiab.... To add to the confusion about the whole flu shot thing.....I spoke with the nurse at my OB's office today. She said that they are not offering the vaccine at their office but are encouraging pregnant women to get it if they want to. She did say that it indeed covers the strain (s) that they "think" will be most prevalent this year. She told me last year's flu shot didn't protect against the strain that was most prevalent. She also said it's very possible that even with the flu shot, one could still get sick from another strain not protected by the vaccine. She said the practice is making it a personal choice for patients and one of the reasons many pregnant women opt to get it is b/c being pregnant may hinder your ability to fight off infection as well. That's assuming the vaccine protects you against the appropriate strain. SO, I'm still confused but thought I'd pass along that info.!!!

How's everyone else feeling today??? I hope all our lizard friends are doing well.

Who is the next one in the lounge leaving for WDW????? :hyper::wave:

Oh and :wave2: to ead79, k&a&c'smom, johnsonet,VAgal, and everyone else I've seen around the lounge today!!

I have an OBGYN appointment in the morning, so hubby & I will ask some further questions about the flu shot and make a decision. I'll let you guys know what she says.

I also have a dilemma about the PS's that I made. Originally I made a few to include my sis-in-law and her family. Well, she called several weeks ago to say that she was not going. So I changed the PS's to just include my family. Last week she called to say they were going and she needs a ride.

You would have to know this sis-in-law, but I was not thrilled by the prospect, so I offered to let her borrow my new car to drive for the week. :earseek: When you are between a rock and a hard place you make the best decision for you mental, pregnant state.

Anyways, tonight she calls crying because she got into a car accident and wrecked her truck. Because of that she refuses to borrow anyones car and is determined to drive her wreck truck that has been in the shop three times this past summer.

Also, she wants me to add them back to all of the PS's that I originally had planned.

What do I do? I don't want to upset the IPO's by constantly changing our meals. As an alternative I offered to make similar PS's for her? What would you do?

KerryCM--I pm'd you.

samnbilly....

Sending "tried and True BT PD" your way!:wizard:

Hey I just got $500.00 bucks today in the mail for my NJ Property Relief-Watch how fast I can convert that to Disney Bucks!
I'm :rotfl: when I read that! LOL! what a great idea! ::yes::

I agree with you, steveanddonna....Kerry is so thoughtful and sweet!!!!:cutie:
And I really like Tammi's and kacsmom's suggestions!!!:lovestruc

I'm going to be out of the lounge this weekend until Tuesday!
I have to fly out tomorrow for a jewelry show and then back for my cancer fundraiser on Wed.
So, I've been fitting models and getting my "bullets" (apparel info) ready and in order!:crazy2:

Leaving out some chicken 'n dumplings, cheeses, crackers, corn muffins, mac 'n cheese, sandwiches, and lots of teas, sodas....for everyone!

Also, got that fabulous expresso machine (that hockeymom "borrowed" from the AKL CL) cleaned out and ready for making delish lattes and cappucinos!:drinking1

What do I do? I don't want to upset the IPO's by constantly changing our meals. As an alternative I offered to make similar PS's for her? What would you do?

desiab....
do not worry about bothering them! that's their job!
But, you need to explain to them the situation and get those PS's updated to include the largest number in your party size.
It's easier to "downsize" a PS and to "up-size" it when you check-in at the podiums.

And, as for the PS's that include a deposit, like CRT, they will apply the deposit to your meals of the "no shows" if that happens.
For example, we didn't go to my niece's CRT breakfast
(just ran out of steam!) and I had a PS and $$ down for 5 adults and 1 child. 3 adults and 1 child went and they simple applied the deposit for the 2 adults to the meal. So no $$$ was lost.
Hope this makes sense!:earsgirl:

Have a happy weekend, ya'll!!!!

I hope I'm not too late to say have a great time Debbie, hockeymom! I'm glad you're feeling well enough. I had that cold for about 2 weeks and the lingering cough was just diagnosed as asmatic bronchitis and sinusitis - not contagious.

Desiab and others, I am a big believer in the flu shot as my husband's oncologist always insists we both get the shot (because I live with him). The shot is a dead vaccine, you cannot get the flu from it. The flumist nose spray is only recommended for certain healthy people up to 49 (forget the low age) because it is a live virus. The vaccine that was stopped was the British-made (American manufacturer) Chiron. The French made Aventis Pasteur is fine and that's what you'll see. Because of this, they are putting strict guidelines on who is top priority - one of the things is if you have a chronic condition. The American lung association has info on their website. You cannot have the shot if you are allergic to eggs or have a cold. Desiab, if you decide the shot is right for you and you want it, officials are urging high-risk people not to wait. It may not be there for you next week. The CDC recommends women who will be pregnant during flu season to get the shot (meaning you are on the priority list).

For those not getting the shot, washing hands for a long time, rubbing them with soap to move the germs off is really important this year. And if you feel you have come down with the flu you can go to your doctor immediately and get a special medicine to help you get over it quicker. We all want to be healthy for WDW!!!

Thank you Bambi T for the cancer work.
:flower: :rose:

Kerry, PM'd you...

Putting out truffles and candied almonds for all the LLs...
