Have to get this off my chest, was I wrong?

We always wait.

The years we've stopped to take pictures no one ever went around us.

Honestly I never even thought to move around someone in line but I always figure it's TSM...ya gonna have to wait no matter what!

Taking a photo isn't selfish at all.

Expecting every other person in line to stop moving forward because you've decided not to - that's extraordinarily selfish.

Lines move forward. If you don't want to move forward with the line, you must accept that the line will move forward without you.

Not everyone has to stop because you feel like doing so...because you aren't that special and the world does not revolve around you.

I think that's what they meant.

I'll say it once again:

Why is everyone is such a hurry to go no where?

And, I disagree, it's not selfish to expect people behind you to stay where they are supposed to. I'm a Disney fanatic, and I don't support line cutting!

It's wider so people can see the display and maybe stand there and take pictures if they want to. That doesn't mean they expect people to be booted out of the line.

No one's getting booted out of line (more exaggeration, classic). The line's continuing to move while that person(s) chooses to stop and take pictures. I've stopped there before to take a picture but I fully expected the line to keep moving past me. Once I finished we just joined the line again - what's the difference? It's this, "You better not get in front of me!" attitude that I find childish. I've seen this same thing at HM after the doors open to the dune buggy room. People who were in the stretching room first but not close to the door trying to push their way up front because they were FIRST! Get over it people.

It is cutting in - we had it happen to us and I was furious- yes I got a CM involved and the horrid woman who did it got told to leave the attraction (or park -not sure as she was escorted by an CM).

In our case we stopped moving in a queue which still had over 1/2hr to go (we had already been in it for 45 mins) to do a blood test on my diabetic dd and then give some glucose, during which this woman and her 2 mates went past us.

I commented to her about her lack of maners, as did the people behind us and she then fired off about not having time to waste standing about. I said/did nothing more until she turned to my dd (aged 9) and stated if your ill you should not have got in the queue. At that point I got the CM as enough was enough. She was told let us through but after the cm left she continued to be agressive. Thus we stood it out quitely (as I did not want my girls upset further) but took great pleasure in reporting her just as be boared. ;)

At which point she was removed a under CM guard of honnor!

It's not cutting because the person(s) has stepped out of line to take a picture. Why do you think that area of the line is wider right at that spot? So people can take pictures and others can keep moving!

It's not a hard concept to grasp. All that woman did was show her kids that it's OK to throw a tantrum to try and get your way. Once again, pathetic.
Actually, it's wider there so that the person taking the photo has room to move back and get the family AND the Potato Head figure in the picture. If it was the skinnier line, there'd be nowhere for the photographer to stand and get a decent shot.

:earsboy:

while in line at TSMM, the people in front of us were taking lots of pictures as the line moved along. No big deal as it is a great queue! However, when we got to Mr Potato head, they and 2 other groups stopped dead and were posing their kids for shots. I walked ahead of them as we were not taking pictures. The woman had a FIT!!!! Yelled at me, tried to stop my DD from moving ahead too, complained to a CM, glared at us the rest of the queue. To me, it was one thing when they were just taking shots in the line but totally different when you start posing for multiple pictures.

Should I have waited while they finished their rather lengthy photo shoot? Really ruined the night for me. I suppose I should have just let her have her way but she made me sooo mad!!!!

I'd guess if she complained to a CM and the CM didn't say anything to you, then you were most likely in the right.

I mean, if the CM had thought that you had 'cut the line' wouldn't they have said something to you?

Okay, I'll ask again... if you were BEHIND this family in line, and they stepped out to take pictures and you happened to be right at that spot when they were ready to get back in line, would you let them into the line in front of you?

It's this, "You better not get in front of me!" attitude that I find childish.

Funny. I find the "you lost your place!!!" attitude to be very childish. Saying "they got out of line because they were only standing NEXT to the line, not IN the line" is pretty much the equivalent of holding your finger a millimeter from your little sister's face and saying "I'm not touching her!" :rotfl:

They aren't in a hurry. They're just moving with the line.

If you don't wish to move with the line, the line will move without you.

They aren't "supposed to stay" there because you feel like stopping. You're supposed to be moving along and not holding anyone up.

You just aren't that special.

Depends. If the CM didn't see it happen, it's hard for them to take a side. Because neither person is going to say "No ... really ... it was me ... I was wrong." They're both going to say that they didn't do anything wrong. So if the CM didn't see it happen, they can't really do anything.

Kind of like with kids. If one kid says, "Billy pushed me!" and Billy says, "I didn't push him!", who's telling the truth if you didn't see it?

Bingo.

Or to sum up this argument more succinctly: "Am not!" "Are too!"

If they're not in a hurry, maybe you can explain to me why it would be necessary to move around them only to move another 10 feet ahead in line, where, much to their surprise, they would still be waiting in line because they have not made it to the loading zone yet?

And, so, once again, I ask:

Why is everyone is such a hurry to go no where?

On #64, sounds like the CM reacted to the aggression that you described by the other guest, perhaps not the line order issue. :confused3

you're right, we really didn't get on any faster. It was the fact that she thought we should all wait for her that did it for me. Truly I am a nice person and just let people like her go rather than deal with it. BUT SHE MADE ME SO MAD!!!!

Remember, nobody makes you mad, you allow yourself to get mad.

Taking photos is no different than playing with the inter-active queues that are popping up everywhere. Would you expect people to walk past guests playing the games in the Space Mountain line if the line is backed up?

I feel like there is no correct answer here.

If I was taking a photo I wouldn't care if people were moving past me as I am stopping to enjoy another aspect of the attraction. But on the other hand unless we're at the the loading area, I'm not really delaying any ones ride. So what's the point?

Actually, the correct answer is "Disney should remove all theming from the queues. And everyone has to wear slip-on or velcro shoes so you don't have to stop and tie them."

If the line has moved forward and the folks playing the games have decided to stop there and play for a bit - absolutely.

I'm actually surprised by how many people think that they are so special that entire lines of people should wait for them.

Honestly, it is time to grow up and realize that although mommy and daddy may have put you first and waited for you, not everyone will be doing that. And you should not be asking - much less telling - them to all stop for you.

If you are in people's way, apologize. Encourage them to go around and keep apologizing.

Do not say, "YOU SHOULD WAIT FOR ME! I WANT TO STOP!" But if you must do that, please stamp your foot. We should get the whole deal.

If it's one or two pictures then no big deal, I would just wait. It's the ones where they have a big group and each person has to get their own picture taken that I take issue with. Heck, I even saw one guy whip out some collapsible tripod thing (maybe a monopod) so he could get just the right shot or something. Should I and everyone else have just stood there until he got just the right picture of each of his five kids? The "polite" picture takers will tell the rest of the line to continue on.

It's a simple thing for the picture take to just rejoin the line instead of holding up the entire line.

Wow!! I agree with the poster that said why is anyone in a hurry to just wait again. Maybe because I've been going to Disney forever I expect people to stop and take pictures. Everyone is excited and I love to watch people's first time seeing the attractions. IMHO there are tons of times people stop. I love it when people walk into MK for the first time and just stop and stare at the castle. I know some people are very upset when this happens and they have to go around them to run to rides, but honestly people need to chill. What about if a parent is comforting a crying/scared child in line and they don't move as fast as you would like. What about people who can't walk that fast. My best story that I love to tell is the time when my kids were younger and we were waiting in the Little Mermaid line. There was this family who pushed ahead of my family. I just let them go and told my kids that they were probably so excited and have never been there before where we are there so often we can certainly wait another 2 minutes. WELL, karma got them because they had awful seats and I heard them complaining after the show, but my family managed to get great seats. Sorry for the long post, but I think when you go to Disney you have to pack your patience. I just thought of another line, the one for Soarin'. I remember when they used to have those games you could play and sometimes people would stop (obviously Disney expected you to play them) and there were always people who would walk around them. I considered this line cutting and never did it. The bottom line is that Disney brings out the best and worst in people, but most times I try to believe that people are not trying on purpose to annoy me, they are just excited.

Enjoy The Magic!!

Been there, done that....I have moved around people doing the same thing. The guy had pulled out his tripod and the CM was yelling to keep the line moving...SO I went right around them and of course got yelled at by the picture taker.A quick minute or so doesn't matter to me, but when you are setting up for a photo shoot all while the CM is yelling to keep the line moving, well then I am moving around you.
