Have the rooms been updated at Kidani?

I know they are doing exterior renovations but have the rooms been updated? This is our home resort but we have not stayed there in a few years? Also, has the pool reno been completed?

Last AKV room refurbishment was only soft goods in 2016. They are due for a full refurbishment in 2024.

I see that BLT - also due in 2024, is already officially scheduled, I hope they aren’t going to push AKV out to 2025 .

I hope not either. I am glad to see that BLT is a go for 2024....if any resort needs it, it is most certainly BLT....we love the resort, but it needs attention badly!

I wonder, do they remember that AKV opened before BLT? They seem so haphazard with their schedules.

We were at BLT in October in a 2BR and the room was in great shape. Sometimes it is simply the room. Immediately following the last AKV soft goods refurb we had a Club level room that had the wallpaper peeling off in the bathroom.

We were there in beginning of Feb and both pools were up and running. The room we were in was not renovated, but there were not any problems either, except it did not have all the kitchen articles that were available in OKW.

Still no official announcement for AKL room refurb. Hopefully its announced for next year. Rooms are starting to look pretty dated and a little jealous of the standard rooms now lol.

AKL needs refurbish before BLT. So far disney is skipped over us...I wish there was a way to force them... I feel like they are not fulfilling the akl contracts choosing BLT over us.

PS so far as I know, there’s no refurb schedule in the contracts. In fact, when DVC first opened in 1991, the plan was for soft refresh after 12 years and full refurb after 25 years. The 7/14 schedule wasn’t set in place until around 2015-16.

Ohh I soo felt for BRV owners. They were soo getting screwed. They should have not been jumped over. I wish there was a way to enforce them to keep the schedule.
