Have the code guidelines changed for 2008??

My question is this....

In the past as long as you check-in prior to the code expiring it was still good for youe entire length of stay.

Does this still hold true for 2008?? If I check-in on the last day a code is valid will it be honored for my entire stay??

It looks like codes are NOT going to be guaranteed for length-of-stay. I was playing around with AP rates this morning and there are weekends still at rack rate while week days are discounted, and then there are weekends where the discount is half what it is on the weekdays. Obviously the rules are going to vary from code to code and season to season, but I wouldn't count on your code being valid past the end of the offer dates.

No, this has all changed. The code/or discount is applied daily, so there are actually days were you'll see a discount, some days (weekends) were the discount is much smaller, and holidays--where you'll see no discount at all. Plus add in the new higher rates for weekends, holidays, seasons and it throws all of our former history numbers out the window. I have an AP rate for Jan. 26th. Its a Saturday, so the discounted rate is $69 a night. I always had a Sunday night and the discounted rate was $49. The days of securing a lower rate and taking it throughout your stay are gone now.

I better look at my res again.. I booked the free dining bounceback and am pretty disgusted as it is because they failed to tell me the correct rate with a 10 year old as it was. If she booked me past the end of free dining (which I think she did) to October 1 2008 I am going to be soooo mad!

Thanks for your response...but I am still a little confused....

I understand how it will be applied daily now corressponding to your nightly rate so I guess that means if I check in the last day a code is valid it will only be applied to that day, or will it still be applied to my whole trip.

I realize if it is applied to my whole trip it would change daily based upon my rate weekdays vs weekends.

I guess I just still need to know if I will only receive that one single day or the balance of my trip.
