have pins to trade at WDW, how do you carry them around the park?

I've bought a few pins for ds8 and I (and ds3, dh, & dm) to trade at the park during our Sept trip. I've never done this before and I was wondering how do you carry them around the park? We don't have many, but a laynard seems like it will bother ds neck and be a pain on rides. Can we just keep them in our fanny packs? (I think each person will have 3 pins, at most)

We're just trying this for something fun to do and I think it will be give them some nice "personalized" momentos from the trip. Afterall, each person, individually, will choose what to trade and what to keep.

After trip I think I'll put them in a framed display in each kid's room with some other souvenirs. Or (is this a new one to you?), my DS and I could display them on our archery quivers. Yep, our family is "into" target archery and "everyone" puts pins on their quivers. It's kind of cool. I actually have an archery olympic pin collection (framed), but that's getting off the subject.

How do you recommend we carry the pins?

Thanks for your suggestions.

If you are only gonna have 3 each then you could use your fanny pack or a hat. But don't be surprised when you see them become 4. 5 and then 6. It is like chips. Ya can't just have one.

You may want to talk with Dom13. He is very much in to archery as well. He posts here and moderates pinpics.com

Some of us carry around pin bags full of pins which can be very heavy.
Others wear a vest full of pins to trade, but that is like being a walking lightning rod.
The only caveat is that the pins sometimes fall off of whatever you have them attached to (hat, lanyard, vest) etc.

some use pin backpacks also...
they are quite convenient for having your
hands free and they fully zip closed
so you don't lose any and it is still easy to
get on rides...

but, since they are so novice, until their
collection grows, I'd say either a fanny
pack or a lanyard for now...

have fun!

We actually found that craft foam boards worked really well. They are light enough that you can fill about 50 pins on one notebook paper sized sheet. They fit really well into a tote bag or backpack.

We wore our lanyards to the park. We kept our extra traders on a board so that we could refresh our lanyards through the day and put the keepers on another board. We kept the pin back Mickey heads in a ziploc bag.

There are various thickness' of the foam available. We found that the 1/4" is not quite thick enough, but if you get the thin sheets with the adhesive, you can easily attach them together for the perfect thickness. The pins really stick well into the craft foam too. I have held them upside down with no drops. The best part is that these boards are dirt cheap and easily replaced.

I hope this helps. Maggie
