Have Fun Rvusa

I got about 10 mpg when we left MI in December and got up to about 10 1/2 once I got out of the heavily "winter blended" fuel. Our trailer is about 9,000# loaded and we had 5 adult size people in the truck with a fridge, an Amigo scooter, a full cooler 4 or 5 cases of water and soda, a bike and some misc tools.
I went about 225 miles on the Interstate with about 25 miles on 2 lane a few weeks ago and got 18 1/4 unloaded, when the winter fuels leaves in the spring the MPG goes up about 1 1/2.
8 MPG isnt too bad for a new truck, it will get better.

Did I read this correctly Scott??? NO BEER OR KUNGALOOSH in the cooler????

:rotfl2:

I have now been in this forum for a few days and I kept reading posts containing "Kungaloosh". I had no idea what any of you were referring to, so I googled it. The mystery has been solved. For those of you - like me - who have no idea what this is (which does not appear to be many). Here is the recipe:

Old Kungaloosh Recipe -- Circa 1997
1 1/4 ounce vodka
1 1/4 ounce Malibu Rum
3/4 ounce Midori (melon liqueur)
2 tablespoons pineapple juice
1 splash cranberry juice

Mix well.

New Kungaloosh Recipe -- since 2000 or so

1 cup Daily's Strawberry Daiquiri Mix
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum
1/4 cup blackberry brandy

Toss it in a blender with enough ice to make it slushy.

It sounds like a pretty strong drink!!!:upsidedow

Just finished one very good but I am more a beer type a guy :thumbsup2

We are going back to FW at the end of this month. I am going to bring the ingredients and see if we cannot mix one up. It is a pretty large group and I am sure most of us were not aware of this drink. It may become a regular item to be packed for each trip in the future!!!

The kungaloosh mixins were the first thing unloaded and blended!!!

We are here, got here at about 11, the site wasn't ready, at about 12 they said go ahead from my friend, he went back and there was someone on it. My site which hadn't been released by mousekeeping was empty. So he came out to the lot and sat with us. At about 1 we called again and they gave us 2 different sites about 10 spaces apart :sad2:. I told them I am hadicapped, and would like to be near a cs, we are as far away from a cs as is physically possible at this place. We are in site 1815 which is on the inside clear at the back next to the canal. OH well did I mention we are here!! We set up everything, and put out all the decorations. Then we went looping in the cart, and down to t e to get a mug.

We are going to dhs tomorrow, so I am gonna go to beddy bye. I will be around the camper all day wed, wife willing. So I will update everyone then.

Talk to "yins" later
John

Captain Morgan:

In 1944, the Seagram Company started producing rum under the name Captain Morgan Rum Company.

Seagram CEO Samuel Bronfman purchased a distillery named Long Pond from the Jamaican government. Among the buyers of raw rum from the Long Pond distillery was a Kingston pharmacy named Levy Brothers. The Levy family had been purchasing raw rum, adding medicinal herbs and spices, aging, and bottling it. Bronfman liked the rum product and bought the rights to it.

In the 1950s the United States federal government and the government of Puerto Rico created a number of economic incentives to create jobs in Puerto Rico. Taxes on rum entering the United States produced in Puerto Rico were less than from other countries outside the United States. At this time both Seagram's and the Bacardi family built large new plants near San Juan.

In 1984, Captain Morgan Original Spiced rum was introduced to the United States.

Captain Morgan is, by volume, the third largest brand of spirits in the United States, and the seventh largest world-wide. In 2005, 6.5 million 9-liter cases were sold. Most Captain Morgan rum is sold in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and in continental Europe.

Distillation process
Captain Morgan's Rum is distilled from sugar cane. The combination of the type of yeasts employed for fermentation, distillation method, aging conditions, and blending determines the characteristic flavor of rum. Made with molasses, water, mash and yeast, Captain Morgan Original Spiced rum is distilled in a continuous still. Once distilled, the clear spirit is aged in oak barrels for up to a year, adding a golden color and character to the rum before the flavors and spices are added. The brand’s taste is achieved through a proprietary recipe, which is blended into the rum mixture at the final stages of production, making use of spices indigenous to the Caribbean Islands.

A lifetime of drinking.............fun AND informative!!!

Indigenous Carribean spices mixed with sugar! No wonder I love it. So is rum the reason we acquired Puerto Rico?

Sure I just dont know how to send it threw the computer. I pour it in one of drives but it just stays there :confused3
The closest I can get to this is making the cup holder slide out of the front of the computer when I press the little button - Conveinent little gadget. It says CD on the front, I figure it stands for cups and drinks.

Good one, Gonzo.:lmao:

By the way. Even though you're from all the way up in Ohio, you have got to the "Fort goingest" dude I've ever seen.:thumbsup2

It's a lot easier when you are single and only have to pay for one person. I really feel for you guys who have to pay for tickets, lodging and food for larger families.
As you can see I try to go at least once each year, besides I have to eat up about 3 weeks of vacation and 6 personal days each year.
