Hi, Last year when I was at Epcot I was going to get in line for Mission: Space, My DH rode it once and said that it was pretty cool and he didn't get sick so I thought I would try it, but then when I got inside the building there was a warning that people who suffer migraines should not get on the ride. I quickly got out of line at that point because I get migraines at least 3-4 times a month, I get floaters in front of my eyes and can't see anything and get nauseas and everything else, so I was wondering if anyone else who suffers from migraines has tried this ride? Am I just being silly and missing out on a great experience or should I really not do it?

I get migranes about once every other month, but they're not severe. I take 2 Excedrine Migrane pills and go to sleep for about five hours and I'm okay. I rode MS two times in a row and I was okay, only a little dizzy. However, if I were in your position I don't think I'd go on it unless you can take medicine like I can, take a nap and be okay when you wake up. I, personally, think it would be better to stay off than to risk going on and being in migrane pain the rest of the day.

I get migranes weekly and take a prescription medication for them. I was on Mission: Space last spring. It did not bother me at all.

I get migraines and didn't have any problems with M:S. My migraines are not severe so I would say it all depends as to whether you should risk it or not.

Good luck!!

My husband gets pretty severe migrains with the floaters, and all at least once a month. He has ridden M:S several times and has never had a problem with it. In fact, he fares better then I do!

He suffers from very severe migraines (multiple prescription drugs, etc.). He rode Mission Space and had no problem! I've read here that some people who DON'T get migraines got one from Mission Space---seems odd! But, we were ALL relieved that DH had no headache at all from it.

I get pretty bad ones - not a problem with Mission to Space - although at first when I got dizzy - I got a little scared and though I was about to have a bad one - but it was just the ride.

Last year I rode Mission Space WITH a migraine. It was my only chance and I took it. It made me feel pretty sick during the ride, and for a few minutes after. But then I was back to my normal self, migraine and all. I never even noticed any mention of migraine sufferers not riding. Did they mean don't ride if you suffer migraines or don't ride if you HAVE a migraine?

I get migraines, see a neurologist, on multiple prescription meds for them (both preventative and as they happen), and when I do get one have an aura and get nauseous/throw-up.

No problems with M:S:) Of course everyone is different... If you're not seeing a neurologist (which I'd recommend, drugs are your friends;) ), at least try to find something that you can take that will work if you do happen to get a migraine while you're on the ride.

my mother gets severe migraines about 5 times a month, and takes prescription imitrex for them, as otc medications do not help. she says that while she would not go on mission: space while she has a migraine (or if she had a bad one the day before), it has not caused or worsened any migraines. hope this helps.

I have horrible migraines, much like yours. I saw the sign too, but was determined to ride M:S. I did and I was totally fine. To be honest, will all the hype that has surrounded that ride, I was expecting a much more intense experience. I liked it a lot and I plan to ride it again when we go to Disney later this year.

Now, this having been said.....M:S is not for everyone. It's up to you in taking the risk. Disney put those warnings up there for a reason. Just because I was lucky enough to suffer no ill effects from it a year ago, doesn't mean that I will be so lucky this year. Only time will tell.

If you decide to ride, it's very cool. Listen to the warnings of what to do while on the ride and hopefully, it will not ruin your day. When you get off the ride, walk with you head up and look at the stripes on the wall. Breathe deeply and you will most likely be ok and not have a protien spill.

Good luck! Maggie
