Team Miss Fits is nervous.... we have yet to hear anything one way or the other (are we in... are we out.... nothing)

Soooooooo before totally freaking, I wanted to know if any team that is IN has heard something back?? (we already have heard of some outs...) :(

Thanks!

My team leader said nothing about getting feedback from VMK about being in or out. He said when we entered we are in so this is new news :confused3 .

wow...i haven't talked to the lead person on my team .....hmmm I hope we have heard something...just curious...why wouldn't a team be accepted? Do you know?

Are they just going to say enter pick 2 teams and judge those two?

No but you may have read about a team being told they were out because they used a wrong room term... they didnt realise unitl they were sent a letter.... so not ALL teams that entered are in the contest... Does that make sense?

When I entered our team, I received an e-mail within 48 hours saying that our registration had been accepted.

I also received an email, mine within 6 hours, saying we had been accepted. We needed to resubmit (with staff permission) due to an odd circumstance, and i received the new acceptance within 48 hours. So I have gotten 2 emails of acceptance.

The Zeta team also got a letter of acceptance to the contest... within a day of entry- but we also submitted our entry early- didn't wait until the last day to send ours in-

I do think this even had some rather strict rules- nothing that couldn't be followed- but when you are thinking in terms of 8-14 yo's I could see times when my two kids who fall into that age would have lots of trouble with them.

For one- I know many "adult" teams had some difficulty coming together and making decisions- of things like team names, ride ideas and all.

And if you think of the teams who communicated ONLY in VMK to achieve this task- I'm amazed they were able to do so successfully- not easy to talk at all- and of course when you have a room on a popular list because it has all your team members in it- you will keep getting random people visit- I really don't see how some teams managed- if they didn't have another way to communicate- like IM, boards, email- which all should have been no-no's

But although I think this task was tough for some of the younger kids- I do think many will have achieved it- and that the rules- if nothing else were fairly clear- if someone chose to interpret them differently... well that was their decision.

I do feel sorry for the people excluded for minor reasons or because one team member did something like joined two teams...

But to get back on topic- I do know our team got a response letter. I was not the one who submitted our entry- but I would hope if this sort of event is repeated that when they create and entry form for it- that they make it more explanatory- where the rules are indicated on the entry form as you would fill them in

for example-
TEAM NAME (may not use any dictionary dancing, must fit with Base Camp for title of first room)

Team members and room names (no dictionary dancing, no team member can be on more than one team, you must have 6 members and no more than 20 members, may not have more than 30 rooms)
Then they could have empty entry spots for up to 30 rooms with team member name next to it... and the first room could already have had "Base Camp" entered in it...

and the form could kick back when you submit it if there are any names that are too long or team members that were already submitted- not sure if it could pick up on dictionary dancing lol...

Just my suggestion- I do know our team leader typed up her submission for us to look at and made many many corrections until a final draft was approved by all- but... we weren't working out our team information on VMK-

How many others (especially younger team members) would have thought about that or had the means to do it?

Okay- I've rambled on again for something as simple as a yes or no question from the original poster... I do hope that everyone hears something- one way or the other- I think not knowing at this point would be worse than finding out you were disqualified right away- and of course it would be even worse to sit all next weekend in your base camp never to have a judge show up...

ok, wait just one minute!!!!!!!
What was this circumstance? My team made the smallest mistake in the WORLD in the entry, and we got DQed!!!!!! (not offically yet, bc VMK got some messages, LOL)

And they let you RESUMBIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VMK is truly very unfair. Our mistake was typing the name of the first room "Base room" instead of "Base camp", tell me, why does it MATTER!????
If anybody made any kind of small mistake, they should let EVERYONE get a second chance.......

I think you missed the point. Berrygirl's team was originally Accepted! They had to make a modification to their accepted entry (she does not have to state what that modification was). As she stated VMK was aware, and then accepted their modification.

Unfortunately, not the same as yours, where your original was not accepted.

Thank you Dis for what you said above, and I do NOT have to state the circumstance, but it was NOT an error made on my part. We were ACCEPTED FROM THE BEGINNING and never deined and told to try again. We had to change something, and got permission to do so first. I will not state what happened because it has nothing to do with it, but yes we were accepted to begin with and never denied becasue we did not follow the strict rules spelled out. We followed all instructions to the tee and therefore we were given permission to make the change BEFORE the deadline.

We also received an "acceptance letter" from VMK within 24 hours of registering.

I'd check with your team leader, if there are any doubts as to whether you are in or out, to see if an email from VMK was received by them after registration.

Ok.. it seems we fall into the catagoy of not hearing ANYTHING from VMK either way.....

Hmmmmmmmmm.......

Ya know at this point, I dont even care if we are in or out, I just want to know one way or the other!!!

Soooooooo any team not hear ANYTHING at all yet??? ANd are you guys freaking too!!??!!!

Wow. I'd have to say you were lucky that you were able to get the permission. In the rules, it said that no changes would be allowed after the team information had been submitted.

Maybe there is hope for this other team. VMK can bend the rules if they want.

Yes I was being sarcastic about only "2", meaning only a few teams. VMK is known to be unfair and rude at times even though they say they are friendly to help.

no response for Base Camp Team Trivia.

rejection will prompt me to unplug.

Team Yensid got an a entry accepted e-mail within 24 hours of entry. Only problem is since nothing usually goes according to plan we have had to make modifications to our ride since we sent in the entry form. Hope they don't make us follow the information on the entry form to the letter. Anyone else in the same boat (Room Name Changes, Adding or Deleting Rooms, etc.)?

I'm a big nervice since my leader has not been on all week :worried: , I sent him a PM asking if he's gotten anything back from vmk saying we are accepted. We have some PRETTY good rooms I'd hate to see the creativity go to waste. :worried:

I, as the leader of our Everest team, received a confirmation email.

Yes we were lucky. Without explaining the entire situation, which i refuse to do, I will say that this was not just a "can we please change this" or a "oops we made a typo" situation. I was able to resubmit the day after registration started, so maybe that is why(it was within 24 hours of our original registration). Of course VMK can bend the rules if they want, it is up to them. I am really hoping the other team gets a chance.
