***Official September 2026 Thread***

2-14 September, taking my boys, it's their first time in Disney World! Looking into renting DVC points actually for a studio as now we have kids, could use a little kitchen!

I went last year Sept 23-30. Great time of year to go, and I'm thinking of going again this year-thinking so much that I even wrote the 7 month date for September 20th on my calendar, and I've been looking at airfare for the latter part of September. Right now, airfare from our airport is so high, I've only looked. But I wanted to tell all you September travelers what a great, low-crowd time you've chosen.

How was the heat back then? Tolerable?

It seemed to me that it was warm, but not overly hot or humid. The weahther was so pleasant that when we returned, I looked up the weather to see how it compared to the average. Turns out that it was actually a couple degrees above normal. That was towards then end of the month. Several years ago, I remember going to WDW the first week of September and thought it was really hot then.

eeek we are going early September! Should have done some weather research before we book flights.

We have gone the third week of September the past 8 years (minus this year we took a cruise), it has always been very hot every year. We are from Georgia so we are fine with it, but expect temps in the 90’s for your feel like temps. The bright side is there are indoor attractions and shows. Stay hydrated, definitely use cooling towels or fans, enjoy the water rides. With the shorter lines you don’t have to worry about standing still in line and just baking for long periods of time. It’s very hot, but it is fine as long as you anticipate it and take a/c breaks when needed. I wouldn’t trade the short lines for cooler weather.

We often go in September. It rains often which helps with the heat as it cools things off for a bit.

We love the lower crowds & the lower costs of going in September (hoping again for free dining like we had last September!)

I'm okay with heat but hopefully the kids (that's including my husband) will be okay too. Need to stock up on fans and cooling towel!

Last year we went in September but didn't book a Bounceback and now we are thinking of going back again. Hoping for discounts!
There were so many Halloween parties it really affected our plans~ we booked one~ but aren't going to this year.
Some days were brutally hot! HS is awful on hot days!

Disney announced a great Summer discount that runs through September 15th today that is better than the bounce back.

We have a bounceback we booked last September. The Cool Kids Summer deal is just as good as that bounceback! In fact, we can save $150 with the new deal vs the bounceback for the same package.

I think it being better than bounce back rates depends on the dates/hotel. Yesterday I compared the new discount price to four bounce back reservations we have and the bounce back was still about $100 less per night if not more. Granted they could have increased the hotel rates between when we booked some of those bounce backs and now so the discount doesn't look as good, but two of those bounce backs we made 2.5 weeks ago so not that long ago.

We ended up switching to the Cool Kids package! We were able to switch from standard pool view at Pop to preferred pool view at Pop (our favorite category!) and we saved $40. (We were unable to get a PPV room with our bounce back).

September 13 - 20. Currently booked at our Home Resort BLT. Hoping to possibly switch to either BWV, BC or Poly when my 7 month window opens.
