PAT & Boarding Group Tracking Thread

Got this quote today from Disney Cruise Chat after changing our resort from All Star Sports to Saratoga Springs for Disney Cruise Transportation.

"No, it will not change your boarding group number as all Guests from the Walt Disney World Resort will have the same boarding group numbers."

We will be using Disney transportation to Port Canaveral staying at Bay Lake Towers and received BG 6 with PAT of 12-12:15. Daughter staying with us at Bay Lake but in a different stateroom on the Wish received BG 8 with at PAT of 11:30
I don't worry about any of that because I like to get there a little later when the terminal is less crowded but I thought I'd report the oddity.

Anything you'd like to share (positive or negative) about your embarkation experience? Just a FYI that by the time we arrived at the boarding area at 11:45 am, BG1 hadn't been called to board yet.

Things have recently changed, and multiple cruise groups have reported times/BGs in that range with resort transfers.

I was flabbergasted to get BG 5 when I checked in last night (well I guess technically this morning). I've never gotten a BG that high without taking DCL transportation. Add to the fact I did this on my phone on a Disney bus back to Pop Century and I'm super impressed!

Anything you'd like to share (positive or negative) about your embarkation experience? We could’ve boarded at 11:52am when our BG 5 was called, but we waited until 12:30pm when BG 15 was called so we could board with our whole travel party.
Anything you think new cruisers, or cruisers new to that port or terminal, should know? Apparently, we could’ve boarded right after taking our large group family photo in the PC terminal, but we waited until the last of our family group’s BG was called. So, I’d advise to go take your family photo before your BG is called.

Probably not that many Pearls on a run of the mill Wish sailing. But, I think the popularity (and knowledge) of using DCL transportation to get an earlier PAT/BG has greatly increase, which (I think) has a domino effect on what PATs are available for others.

We recently did B2B on the Wish, followed by the Treasure. All 3 groups showed that DCL transfers took up BGs 3-10. Many who had used transfers earlier in the year were surprised to get as high as BG 10. Some people then used the info reported, and switched resorts in order to get an earlier BG, and some locals decided to book the MCO transfers for the same reason.

thank you both for that feedback. Generally i felt on most cruises DCL was like 3-5 or 3-6. 3-10 is a bit much. For me...this is my last cruise to ever worry about that...as it will be our 25th cruise. NO more midnight check in or worrying about boarding group. BG 2 for life...or until they move the bar again!
