Have a Photopass Question? Ask me!

Once I purchase memory maker do I need to do anything to have the pictures scanned on my party's MB go into my account? No one has their own MDE, I control them all, but we likely will often be separated. I bought MM when I bought the tickets and ordered the bands, but nothing has arrived yet. Thanks!
The friends and family need to share with you for you to view photos scanned to thier bands. If you have shared with the friends and family they can see what's scanned to thier bands and photos scanned to your band.

They only need to share with you if they have their own MDE accounts. Since it sounded like the other poster was managing all of the memebers of their party under their account, nothing else would need to be done in order for the photos to be seen.

It should automatically appear in your account if you have MM. Mine took a lot longer to appear than the other photos from the same day. I would give it at least 24 hours before worrying about where the pictures and video are. If they never appear, you can try to call PP and they may be able to locate your missing items.

We're here now and was told the MK system that makes ride photos automatically appear is down -- has been for "several days" -- you have to have them linked at the end of the ride. Don't know how to do that yet for 7DMT...

If their system is down, the only way I would know to get the photo from 7DMT would be to call them or email them about missing photos- they can find ride photos just the same as they can find other missing photos.

How long does Disney keep the photos? For example if it's 2 weeks after a photo was taken and I discover it's missing after I'm home and going through everything...assuming I had the approximate (via another post suggesting notes taken) location, time, and date, would they likely be able to retrieve it for me through a phone call?

I read just about the entire thread and if I have missed it I apologize but does MM allow for random (not posed) shots throughout the parks? I am on the fecne on buying it but if I know the photographers can take random pictures then I am in. Thanks, learned alot from this thread. pixiedust:

I am new to MM. We have 2 rooms each with a different reservation, I have linked them and we were able to book our FP+ together. I ordered MM and linked it to me. If our party splits up in the park, can I still get their pictures (ride or other) even though I won't be with them? Thanks!!

The only place where you could get a non-posed shot is at a meet and greet. I honestly don't know if all photographers do it, but I have seen PhotoPass pictures that were taken while the guest is interacting with the character, and I have some of mine that are like that.

If they're linked to your account, then their pictures can be added to your account.

I would think they probably could....all photos are there in accounts for 45 days after they are taken, I would think they could also locate the photos up to that point as well. They found one of my photos one week after it was taken with no issues. It may be more difficult after a certain time, but only because there are then more photos to go through and becase they will want details such as what people were wearing, what time the picture was taken, and the location of the picture- I don't know if my memory would be good enough to remember all of those details after 2 weeks had passed!

Yes, as long as you make sure that if you have multiple MDE accounts, that all account owners have authorized the option to view/purchase photos.

1. Memory Maker can be purchased in advance, online, and linked to our MBs through MDE.

2. When I purchase the MM, I should order it in my husband's name since he's the account manager. To link my Magic Band to the MM, my name needs to be in his Family & Friends list.

3. We can view the pictures taken in certain locations in the parks while we are on the trip, the 30 day clock doesn't start running until we are home and download a picture. Where exactly can we view these pictures? How are people viewing them on tablets etc?

4. We are arriving next Monday -- friends of ours are arriving November 7th. If we don't download anything until after their trip (home November 14th) -- we can share this MM so long as their MBs are linked under my husband's Family & Friends list right? Can we still view our pictures (at home) before their trip is over without starting the 30 day clock (as long as we don't download)? How many days do we have to begin the download process -- is that the 45 day figure that was referred to?

5. MM includes all Photopass Photos, ride photos, and restaurant photos.

What am I missing that I need to know?

If you you are on his MDE account only, you are fine. If you have your own MDE account, you also need to give permission to view/purchase photos or your photos will NOT show up in his account.

In the parks you view them at the photo stores. Online, you view them at mydisneyphotopass.com . You can view them through the website on your tablet.

You need to make sure that they are also have the view/purchase photos allowed on their account as well, or your husband will not be able to see their pictures, even if you are linked as friends and family. You can view the pictures without starting the 30 day clock for downloads. You have 30 days of downloads, though, so you don't have to wait until your friends return from their trip to start downloading....just make sure that the 30 days leaves enough time to make edits to their pictures as well. Your pictures expire 45 days from when they are taken, so you have 45 days to start downloads. Keep in mind, though, that downloading the pictures does not extend the life of the picture in your account and it will still disappear at day 45 even if you are only on day 1 of your downloads.

5. MM includes all Photopass Photos, ride photos, and restaurant photos.

I would like to say that we just got back from a trip where we utilized the MemoryMaker. We couldn't believe the varying degrees of "professionalism" from the different parks. We encountered some very rude photographers and some extremely pleasant ones. The varying degrees of the quality of the photos is also extremely disappointing. Some look great while others are cropped strange, colors blown out, too much flash compensation, etc. We were only a couple (2 people, no kids) so we weren't asking for different pics or anything, but the photographers seemed to blast 3 consecutive shots and brush us along. Most didn't give time to even get ready for the pictures. I have some looking at the ground, eyes closed, not smiling. At least give some sort of ready set shoot before just clicking the button. Are the photopass photographers trained in the use of the cameras and basic photography? Or are they handed a camera in the morning set to shoot a certain place (indoor, outdoor, night, etc.)? I swear that the AK exit photographer the other night didn't look through the viewfinder at all, depressed the shutter 3 times quickly and was done. First 3 we weren't ready so asked for a couple more. She proceeded to take 3 more rapid fire, flash not even cycling and they came out dark and crappy. It was as if we were bothering her asking her to take a picture. Out of 6 pictures, maybe one looks decent and even then I'll have to use Lightroom to adjust it. I had mid range expectations of the photopass and still am disappointed in the throw away pictures.

Two questions: I have read conflicting info about Memory Bands automatically linking up with ride photos. I had read that as of June 3rd, 2014, they linked up automatically and you didn't have to visit the photo booth after the ride. Which is correct. Do you or don't you?

Secondly, I read somewhere on this board that I phones cannot view their Memory Maker photos online. Would I be able to view my photos on my Kindle Fire? I was hoping to not have to bring my computer along on our trip, but I want to be able to check that my ride photos linked up properly.

Thanks!

We had trouble with the photos showing up using the MBs. We decided later to write down the numbers of the ride photos incase they didn't show up. We had two Splash Mountain photos not show up. They found one of the two so far. I think if the rides encounter a delay (both times we rode this happened) it throws off the link. We have an incorrect picture in our set and one that was missing completely. Hoping they can find the second as I've sent a lost photo request.

I purchased MM online, it is linked to my husband's MDE account. I am listed under his MDE as family -- and that he manages "me" (in Disney only, wink wink). He added our friend's family (mom, dad, 3 kids) as family to his MDE account. It shows that the mom manages all 5 people. It shows that mom can view all of our plans and can view & purchase our PP photos.

Now, in Mom's account, my husband (not me) is listed as family, and that he can view her plans, and view & purchase her PP photos.

Do each of us (husband and me, all 5 family friends) need to show in our respective MDE settings that we can all view & purchase PP photos? I just want to be sure if one of the kids rides a photo ride alone that the kid's magic band will get picked up by the system. This will be their first (and probably only) trip to WDW as a family, so I don't want to mess anything up.

So, I guess what I'm asking is whether all of our names need to be in both MDE accounts with settings set for permission to view and purchase PP photos in order to be sure we're getting all the pictures that could possibly be taken. Also, just to be clear, my hubby & I are going next week. They are going November 7-14.

Thanks for all your help!

OK if I am going to the world and staying off site can I link MM to a magic band from a previous trip? I would also have tickets to link just not sure if they will be regular tickets or annual passes yet

TIA

You can't link anything to a MagicBand really. The magic band is linked to your my Disney experience. The memory maker is also linked to your my Disney experience account. If you have an old band, you can use it to collect photos. It's just a PhotoPass card you wear I your wrist.

I remember reading it somewhere, but can't find it....I am looking at my photos in memory maker and some of them are blurry. Is there something I need to do or can this be fixed? Thank you so much for your help!

Did he add them to his account or just link them as friends and family? If they have their own MDE account(s) and he also put them on his account there will be issues (maybe not with MM, but with something Disney) because he would have created multiples of the same person in the system. If he just linked them as friends/family, then ignore the above :).

Now, in Mom's account, my husband (not me) is listed as family, and that he can view her plans, and view & purchase her PP photos.
Same thing here. If everyone is linked as friends and family, each person who is the owner of a MDE account should be able to see the others through their account.

Only the owners of the MDE accounts need to give permission to view/purchase photos. The owner is basically giving the permission for any people they manage on their account. If a person does't have a MDE account, there won't be an option available for them to give permission.

So, I guess what I'm asking is whether all of our names need to be in both MDE accounts with settings set for permission to view and purchase PP photos in order to be sure we're getting all the pictures that could possibly be taken. If you have created multiples of people by just adding them to your MDE instead of inviting them to plan and share, it is a much more simple thing to fix than it used to be a few months ago (I know from experience). Just call tech support and they can combine the multiples.

I don't think there is anything you can do if the picture really is blurry. I remember people posting that they thought the picture was blurry by the thumbnail on the site, but when they clicked to open the photo, the acutal photo wasn't blurry. It was explained that the higher the resolution of the photo, the more difficult it was to load so you don't see the photos in full resolution.

How soon do the photos show up in your MDE account? I would like to share a couple as we go along so just wondering. Thanks for all the info!
