Have a bad feeling about gasoline....

I am going to get the 1/2 tank I need to have a full tank. I've been enjoying watching regular go down, down, down (to $2.38 here--way too much still, but a big improvement), but today I noticed that diesel shot up to $3.28. Last time Diesel went way up, regular gas followed soon after--not that high, but a good 25 cent jump.
I was hoping that since Hurricane Wilma is not heading toward the refinery area, this would not happen.
I hope I'm wrong...but I'm going to get gas!

I bought gas for $2.45 this weekend. With the hurricane coming, I'm sure the oil companies will use that as an excuse to once again gouge us out of some money, even if it goes nowhere near any refineries, they will say deliveries were interrupted (or some such crap). Might as well fill up, now.

Ours went down 20¢ overnight on Friday. It's currently 2.49.

DH says that the diesel fuel price is so outrageous because everyone is currently filling their tanks with home heating oil. So, there's a gouge to make huge profits.

I feel very sorry for the Professional Truck Drivers - imagine the hit their wallets are taking!

I filled up twice last weekend in Mississippi for $2.36 per gallon , and it was so nice! What I couldn't figure out was, it wasn't cheap ANYWHERE else except that 70 mile stretch. It was still $2.89 in Tennessee before the state line, and as soon as we crossed into Alabama, it went right back up to $2.87. Only little places like Walnut, Corinth, and Iuka, MS along Hwy. 72 had the cheap gas.

Gosh, what I would give to pay $2.38 a gallon. Even $2.78! Both DH and I drive diesel trucks (we are not professional truck drivers) and we are paying $3.25 a gallon. I saw it drop $.10 and then go right back up.

I'm in NW Ohio in a suburb of Toledo. I did go and fill up, but I am hoping the home heating oil theory is correct and gas keeps dropping. My dream is $2 a gallon by Christmas.

i'd give my front teeth for $2.38 a gallon! it's $2.71 here now and i'm sure once wilma blows through this weekend, it'll shoot back up to almost $3.00 a gallon.

Ours is about $2.70 and that's the cheapest it's been since Katrina hit. It's been slowly going down over the course of the past week.

Now why did you have to go and tell them - folks will just be rushing to move to Oklahoma.

By the way gas down the street at the 7/11 is listed at $2.15 for regular, was $2.15 yesterday, $2.27 this morning and back to $2.15 on my way home from work. Feel bad for those who filled up this morning thinking it was going to start climbing again.
