Have a ? about Nicotine Patch

This is way off topic but I have a question about the nicotine patches. Just a little background. My hubby used to smoke and he decided that he wanted to quit smoking so he started sipping snuff instead. (VERY VERY GROSS habit). Anyway we have decided that it is time for him to quit. What I want to know is has anybody had any experience with these patches and if so which one worked the best. Thanks for all the help.

You have to select the patch that corresponds with the number of cigarettes he smokes per day. I believe the highest dose is 21 mg but I am not sure. Walmart has a brand called Equate which is equivilent to the brand name. Users sometimes complain of bad dreams or nightmares. Don't know why.

I quit for about a year, and then started up again . I used the Nicoderm CQ patch and it worked well on the physical cravings. It's the physcological things that you have to worry about(morning coffee and a smoke, after dinner smoke, etc.). Heed the warnings on the package though, I had some freaky dreams while I was using the patch and some skin irritation.

Thanks for all the info. I am hoping that it will be easier for him to quit since he doesn't actually smoke but uses snuff instead. I will be glad to not give anymore money to the Copenhagen Company. Not to mention it is a nasty nasty habit. And don't get me started on the spit bottles.
