Have 527 Days Until Our Vacation, But I Need Some Disney Magic Now!*22 DAYS TO GO!!!!

An I Spy Bag? No I haven't made one yet, but the kids each recieved one when we went for our Wish Trip. Some day I am going to have to try one. I also want to try one of those cryon role ups.:thumbsup2

I spy bag, yeah you knew what I was trying to say! :thumbsup2 I think my DD would be interested by one, but I am not positive. I am sure not sure I could make one. :confused3

The crayon roll ups are neat too! that is something I'd like to make for the next airplane ride. I also need to make or find a pouch necklace thinggy for the GAC. that is at least partly waterproof... :rolleyes1 don't want another splash mountain!

I am looking forward to seeing your Tink bag... :)

They don't look to hard to make, and I am sure that the ladies on Disboutiquers would help me if you wanted me to make one for her. The only problem is that I know two of our three are broken. (Mia actually put her finger through the plastic window within a few days. I ended up putting packing tape on it until just recently) If I can find the other on I will let you look at it and see if she would like one.:thumbsup2

I got my GAC pouch/protector at GKTW, maybe you can give them a call and see where they get theres or if you can maybe buy one from them. :confused3

So I wanted to apologize for not being here for a couple days. I have been working on my bag. TRying to figure out the pattern I wanted to use took some time. Than working on the applique (with 4 kids running around) took more time than I thought. It's easier than I thought it would be, but I kept being pulled away from my work. And than finally when I sit behind my machine to start sewing, the part of the machine that you slide the bobbin in had disappeared. Grrrrr!!!:headache: I found one at JoAnn's so I am off to start sewing. Hopefully I will get it done tomarrow and I can take a picture to show off.

I have already got a request from my DD to make her a bag with the water fairy on it (what ever her name is), I told her she can help me make it. :goodvibes

Went to Goodwill to see if I could find her a cheap machine to start with, but the only machine they had was already in the hands of another shopper.:sad2:
Oh well, they tell me that they get them in all the time, so I will just have to keep checking back.:hippie:

It sounds like you are making some awesome progress!

The Ispy bags are fun! I've never made one, but I've worked with vinyl quite a bit, and I highly recommend that you have a walking foot for your machine. Otherwise the vinyl sticks to the foot, and it gets to be a swearing session...

If you're planning to get a machine at Goodwill... Please go to www.sew-classic.com - Jenny has some amazing resources for buying attic fresh machines, and how to restore them. Also, keep an eye open for duds - not every machine is a good machine to own - and I would hate for your dd to get frustrated with her very first try.

:)

Thanks for the advice D. I will definatly look at the site before I go back to check it out. I want my DD to love to sew as much as I do and getting a bad machine will not help that. My Great Grandma taught me to hand sew (I used old underwear to make outfits for my barbies) and I have loved it ever since. Unfortunatly I didn't learn to sew until I was in college and took a theatre practicum class. My instructer had me sewing lines on paper to get me used to a machine. :lmao:

That's awesome that you got to sew in a theatre class!!! That would be so much fun... It's good that you love it - if you didn't love it, it wouldn't be as much fun. I've found that it's such a huge creative outlet for me. :lovestruc

:surfweb: for your bag...

I hope to finish it soon. I had a little trouble with part of it and had to put it down for a minute so I wouldn't get to fustrated. Getting close though.:goodvibes

You really do crack the whip around here, don't you? :rotfl2:

So I am very excieted to announce that I finished my first bag and applique EVER!!!!!:yay::dance3::woohoo::banana::worship:

Can you tell I am excited.

I know I promised to be done yesterday, but I had some problems so I had to rip part of it apart and refigure it. It's not as perfect as I would like it to be, but it is good for a first try. Plus I know what to do diffrent next time. Plus next time I will add a pocket inside and an adjustable strap.

Hope you like.

OMG!!! You did an AMAZING job!!!!! You should be so proud of yourself! :lovestruc

D~

OMG I love it Corrine!!! It's soo adorable!!!!! /jealous :cloud9:

Thanks Ladies, it makes me feel good when others admire my hard work. :goodvibes

I will take more pictures of it, but my camera's battery was out and I had to take a picture with my phone to get this one. I do want to show you all other sides and the inside as well. :goodvibes

I already have two other people who want one. Mia wants one and the DD of the mom who might come with us wants one. The only problem is Mia wants the new water fairy Raini, so I need some fabric (if I can find it) with the pixie hollow faries on it. The other DD wants tinkerbell so the fabric I already have should be fine. But first I have a big give to finish.:lmao: Ahhh, so busy.

And than in 6 days (which will be our 500 tentative days till Disney Party) I will start sharing with you some memories of our 2009 Wish Trip.:thumbsup2

Lol Nah. We were thinking more of European tour. So many countries we want to see there

So I know I gave a brief introduction to the cast of characters, but I wanted to tell you a little more about us wonderfull girls who are going to WDW in 506 days.:cool1:

Mia-

This is one of my favorite pictures from our trip in 2009. I don't know who I like more in this picture; Mia for her extra bit of personality or Liam for his sick acting. :lmao:

Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom
Favorite Princess: Repunzel
Favorite Fairy: Raini
Favorite Costumed Character:Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck
Favorite Ride: Splash Montain
Favorite Disney Movie: Tangled
Favorite Color: Pink and green

Mia is currently 6 years old but as I have already probably said she will be 7 almost 8 when we go in 2013. She is currently in 1st grade and is doing pretty well, but like most parents I wish she would consentrate more in class. She make friends very easily but also can be very oppinionated and passionate about what she thinks is right. It is not unheard of to have her running into her room when I disagree with her. Funny thing is that she acts like this more often when her brothers are around, She is a perfect angel when it is just her and me. (OK maybe not a perfect one.:rolleyes1) so hopefully we have a trip that isn't full of melodromatics.:confused3 My momma always told me that I was going to get a mini me when I had kids, and she is it. Overly dramatic, sometimes emotional, oppinionated, and loving any excuse to put on a pretty dress.princess:

Had to include this picture because it is one of my favorites from this trip. I was actually told to submite this one to Disney to use in there addvertising.:confused3

Than there is me,
Corrine (not to original with my screen name)

Like most moms there aren't alot of pictures of just me, so you will have deal with a group shot of our 2009 visit to MNSSHP. Had a blast.:thumbsup2

Favorite Park: Still Magic Kingdom. Love the other parks but MK has that special magic.
Favorite Princess: Belle
Favorite Fairy: Why Tinkerbell of course:goodvibes
Favorite costumed character: The big man himself, Michey Mouse
Favorite Ride: It is a tie between The Haunted Mansion for dark ride, and Tower of Terror for thrills.
Favorite Disney Movie: Beauty and the Beast
Favorite Color: Purple

I am a mom to 4 kids, as I already said, but really there is so much more to me. I majored in theatre when I was in college and actually was there on a theatre scholorship. I took every class I could including voice lessons, acting, stage craft, makeup, and a theatre practicum class. ( I was only one in the class and got to choose my own subject. I choose costuming.;)) I also worked a Six Flags Great America for 5 years in which my final season I was one of the people back stage who helped the actors do their quick changes. It was helping making holloween costumes for Fright Frest that I meet some people from the Ren Faire. I auditioned the next year and got a part in the cast at the Bristol Ren Faire in Kenosha, WI. I was part of the cast for 8 years making no money, having to provide my own costume, and absolutly loving it. . .for the most part. I am a very creative person. I love to sing, write, act, sew, paint, make jewelry, and read. I am proud to say that I have some talent in everything that I just wrote about, but am not vain enough to think I am the best at any. (but wont contradict you if you want to say it.:lmao:

So that's a little bit more about us, I will talk a little more about the rest of the family when I do my mini TR including why my son was able to make a Wish Trip in the first place.:thumbsup2

So just a little bit of good news. Besides putting money aside from taxes for the trip I decided to put aside $20 dollars each week to make sure we had enough money. So today was the first day that I put money into the Disney Fund, so the grand total is now. . .

$20.:yay::woohoo:

Who is Raini? :confused3

Love the intro Corrine! :cloud9: I have the "curse", too! "When you grow up, you'll have a kid just like you!" :lmao:

Grats on starting your saving! It's a great feeling to get started on saving!!! :goodvibes

:lmao: I know Raini is not a fairy that everyone knows. I think she is part of the books.:confused3 Mia got a Disney Fairy paper doll set for Christmas and when I asked her what character she wanted on her bag she said she wanted the water fairy with the white hair. It took me a while to find out who she was, but here is a picture.

Pretty isn't she.:goodvibes

So I am not the only one who had the curse.:lmao::rotfl2:

Yes it's a great feeling to be able to have at least some money put aside, even if is only a little.
