This was taken of the exit hallway after exiting the doombuggy. Look closely and you can see a ghost following someone home :hmghost:

Does anyone know the story behind the actual design? It is so unique. I wonder if old Walt used a particular haunted mansion he knew about somewhere as the design or if it was just something they came up with totally original.

Thanks, that was interesting, seems it was somewhat of a hodgepodge of several turn of the last century designs. Would love to come up on that out in the real world somewhere. I love big scary mansions.

That's probably the ghost my DD brought home. His name is Uga!

Ok I must be blind or maybe overthinking this but I can't make out the hidden Donald. Is it supposed to be a profile or front view or what????? :confused3

It's supposed to be a front view. The top is his hat .... then his eyes .... then his beak.

Maybe this will help you see it .....

Wow thanks! I would have never seen that!

You know...HM is probably my favorite ride, right there with POTC. However, the only part I don't like is the part where the man is walking with his emaciated dog, with its bones sticking out. So sad! :sad1:

My family has to agree with you on that one. My DS7 and DH were on the ride and it stopped right there in front of the dog. My DH told me DS kept saying, "poor doggie".

Oh, a CM scared my DSD when she got on the ride. We were behind her and after checking our bar he went and stuck his head in her buggy and said BOO!

Got thread, really enjoying all of the pictures.

go to my website and you will see LOADS of HM photos from WDW and DL. there are too many to share here. it's my favorite attraction, too. a true disney imagineering classic.

Ok this isn't the Haunted Mansion you all know and love but the pic is just so atmospheric I had to show you!

This is a pic I took of Disneyland Paris' Haunted Mansion (Feb 2006)

Gem - - Oooooo, I love that picture! So creepy! Looks like a real old, haunted house - not a theme park attraction.
