Ok this isn't the Haunted Mansion you all know and love but the pic is just so atmospheric I had to show you!

This is a pic I took of Disneyland Paris' Haunted Mansion (Feb 2006)

So how does Dis Paris compare with the Magic Kingdom in Orlando?

HM is my most favorite right at Disney World. I hadn't heard the story of the bride's ring. I'll have to read that "story". I also didn't know you can take pictures on the ride.

Ok, that's creepy because it kinda looks like Madeline's house. You know, "In an old house in Paris all covered with vines ..."

A few different views of DL's done up at Christmas. I have more, but I can't find them right at this moment...

to answer the wedding ring question from before...its on the right side at the very end of the exit, just before the pavement changes...approx. one foot out from the wall. go past the crypts and look for the pavement to change from concrete to the pavers, if i remember correctly.

HM in DLP is pretty much the same as WDW, apart from the facade of the building and the fact the ride's in french! It wasn't until I came to WDW that I heard the real HM story! :rotfl2:

DLP itself is quite similar to MK in WDW. I think its a bit smaller, it doesn't have Splash Mountain and its Space Mountain is a thrill ride more along the lines of Rock and Roller Coaster, it has inversions and goes about 70km/h.

Its not as clean as WDW as they haven't banned smoking so there's lots of cigarette butts around :sad2:
And its castle is Sleeping Beauty's castle and its pink.

I do love DLP but just not as much as WDW! Although you can walk from all the Disney hotels to the park and the Disneyland Hotel is the entrance to the park which is pretty special!

I dont like DLRP in the least because I believe that the plot behind Phantom Manor is very stupid (no offense to you). You are wrong about their castle, it is called la chateu de Belle and it is Belle's Castle not Aurora's at least that is what I heard. And I think smoking should be banned COMPLETELY from Any Disney Theme Park or Hotel.

No offence taken about your opinions on the plot of the Phantom Manor :confused3 I like both of the versions I've been on but they're not my favourite in DLRP or WDW I just posted the pic cos I thought it had a creepy atmosphere!

It is Aurora's castle and its called 'Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant' which is taken directly from Charles Perrault's original title for the Sleeping Beauty tale.
It roughly means "The castle of the beauty sleeping in the woods". It even has a dragon in the cave underneath the castle which is really fun!

I agree about the smoking I hate how dirty it makes DLRP look and how ignorant people are about smoking in front of others.
I don't think you should write off a whole park because of one attraction (Phantom Manor) DLRP is nowhere near as good as WDW but we Europeans can't afford to fly to USA that often so we need something to quench our thirst for Disney! :rotfl:

My DH and I love the ride so much that during our first trip('03) we bought the HM soundtrack and has been on of our favorite CD.

We love the Haunted Mansion in WDW and found DLRP's Phantom Manor equally as good (although hearing the "ghost host" spiel in French was quite funny to us!) :rotfl2:

I have to agree with madgem about the castle in DLRP- it IS Aurora's ;) - and the dragon in the "dungeon" is awesome! :)

As I promised, here is a picture of me (left) and my brother cheshirecatpinman.
