Haunted Mansion expanding

I disagree simply because early in the year is when there is less park attendance and historically there have been more refurbs then. I do not think they would be willing to close HM during the summer months at all.

Like Joseph821 mentioned, I would place my bets on construction in that area happening before April or late April at the very latest. If they are smart, they will do all they need to do on that zone at the same time. (New areas, train station fix, etc). Not too worried about the train closing for the new Splash, I think they'll just put a covering on it.
I agree with you, thanks for chiming in. I used to think not much went down for refurb during the summer, then this year happened. They had extensive summer refurbs of major attractions in both parks for an extended period of time. It used to be that almost no refurbs happened during July.

I do hope HM is not down for very long, nor the train. I think some people might lose it if the regular mansion is only open for a few months before the overlay is re-installed! ;)

Another question to the board: Will this affect the HM Holiday overlay in 2024?

I doubt it, I assume they want this done by this so the Q doesn't go so far out into the walkways like it can
That makes total sense...what I also wanted to know: do you think there is a chance of no overlay and just the regular mansion for 2024 because of the new changes.

I think we could see an overlay, which would interesting

No info but I could see them adding the man eating Reefer in the Greenhouse for sure

Honest moment.

As a Splash Mt fan, I do get jealous of all the HM fans getting EVEN MORE stuff while my attraction is in ruins. It's like picking the Angels as my favorite baseball team. They have the very best and yet somehow I get let down.

Splash was my favorite ride

But Disney just....didn't want to push the ride any more. So for sure the new version will be getting a TON of merch, I bet the Pooh Corner will have a whole room for PATF merch.

I wish they would make a new meet and greet area for Jack and sally closer to haunted mansion during the holidays. Maybe this could accommodate that. The current one is nice but difficult to find for some and kind of in a cramped area.

Brilliant! This is such a great idea, hopefully including more shade in the queue since much of it ends up in the direct sun at certain points of the day.

I'm not seeing the fountain in the park area sketch concept, I hope they still have/incorporate it in the new design.

Do you think the existing fountain will be moved or reconfigured or shut down?

It looks weird to me, maybe I'm having a hard time visualizing. Are they moving it up against a brick wall and creating a place for people to sit near it?

Edit: maybe I'm seeing it now, it just takes a bit to look at the outline in the background.

I see what you mean. Personally, it seems to me like the current fountain is getting removed and a new one installed (one that is against the Mansion's queue new outer wall ). The gazebo with the band looks right about where the current fountain is too. BUT that is using the concept art as a base, it might just be that the artist forgot to add it or that it's slightly out of frame :confused3

Excellent observation @starlite_

It will be interesting to see how the concept art translates into reality!
