Haunted Mansion Cast

Haunted Mansion Cast have always been some of the very best of the best in terms of keeping in character & going the extra mile. I was there last week and at the end of the ride, when you walk down the hallway before exiting the Mansion, there is a cast member only passage on the right hand side that is a bit hidden/tucked away. I have always glanced into that doorway just to see what's what. This time, there was a huge fully costumed cast member standing right there . . . within 2 feet of me . . . who, I swear, looked just like an evil Uncle Fester! He glared at me, showed his teeth & think he even crossed his eyes! He was, to quote an ill-used teenage phrase, awesome! Safe to say, I didn't stop & just kept truckin' down that hallway. But with a big grin. He made my day. Talk about pixie dust. Wish I had my nieces with me for that experience! Hope that the powers that be keep that man well employed for many years. He didn't have to put on a show but this time, pulled out all the stops for one visitor. Given how many recent reports there have been of poor cast member experiences, I wanted to post a thank-you to this one special MK employee. Wish I could have read his name tag. As you can imagine, I didn't stop to get the info!

The cast member only passageway I believe you're referring to might be the passageway where they have the handicapped visitors exit from. I've seen wheelchairs come out from there

ahahaha I know exactly who you mean!! He opened the front doors for us one night last week and we could hear someone in the back go "wow he looks just like Uncle Fester's son!" Which is totally accurate but made me feel kind of bad for him, since he could probably hear it and it might not be the most flattering comparison. But you can see why he got cast for HM!

That is a great story, I too love the cast at HM especially when they REALLY get into character. On our trip in January, my DD11, DD13, and I decided to ride HM. As we were walking past the entrance sign, out of nowhere, a HM CM popped around the corner and gave a death stare to my DD13. I have never seen DD13 jump so high in my life and of course DD11 and I both laughed our booties off . After all was said and done, DD13 laughed hard about it too. It was great!!!!!!

I love the Haunted Mansion guys! I feel like the folks at Tower are just as good though, I've had some fun experiences with that crew as well.

That wasn't really a cast member, it the Haunted Mansion. It really is.

That is awesome! Tower of Terror also has some amazing CM's in character. TJ was always our favorite at ToT! Anyone remember TJ???

My DD17 had a really funny experience with a HM CM. There weren't a lot of folks in the expanding room. Just a few. My DD and I knew where the next doors would open so we went directly there and turned around for the 'show'. I knew there was a CM in there with us but DD17 hadn't noticed. When the lights went out and came back on the CM was standing with his face an inch away from DD's. Freaked her out! It was awesome! She loved it.

We had a funny encounter on our honeymoon. We were wearing our just married buttons. The guy said to me in that HM voice "congratulations madam", tipped his hat to DH and said "and my condolences to you sir."

Hahaha! DH and I got the "my condolences" from the HM CM's during our disneymoon (we were also wearing "Just Married" buttons). I loved it! That CM you encountered was quite clever. I would have burst out laughing.

Yeah. The guy was awesome! I probably had a ridiculous smile on my face. The street players over in HS were pretty funny too.

Yeah, I agree...you usually get some really good CM's at the HM. I will say too our other best experience was the MNSSHP. That event really renewed our love for Disney. We went for the first time last year and all the CM's were fantastic. The parade was absolutely the best and the CM's from the parade interacted with us so much. It was one of the most memorable Disney trips we've ever had (and it was for our 5 year wedding anniversary too.) One of the HM CM grave diggers in the parade came over to us during the parade, gave us the creepy stare and pointed at our anniversary buttons. The mad hatter, Alice, and Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum even got out of the parade and stood on the side of Main Street and danced with us (we were goofing off dancing because that tune from the parade is so catchy.) It was absolutely fantastic and we can't wait for MNSSHP again this year!

I gave a hearty "Good Morning!" to one of the HM Butlers one day and received a cold stare back followed by "What's good about it!?"lol

Unfortunately all of the Haunted Mansion CMs were smiling and pleasant towards us on our last trip. It was the first time I didn't see one of them in character. DW and I were super disappointed.... This is not the norm, but it was very disconcerting. Glad to see that it was just a fluke and not a call from the executives.
