Wondering if anyone has done the Halloween carriage ride at Fort Wilderness. What did you think? Can you tell me a little bit about it? I'm thinking of booking it for our family on our next trip. Would you do that, or something else "Halloweeny" instead? Already done/doing MNSSHP.

UPDATE Set. 2013: Haunted Carriage Rides at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will not be returning this year. The seasonal 25-minute rides, which were themed to "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" and featured the Headless Horseman, were discontinued in 2012. No word if the change is permanent.
It was my understanding that they no longer offered the Haunted Carriage rides at Halloween. For your sake, I hope I'm wrong, but I believe they did not do them last year.
We camp at Fort Wilderness over Halloween and last year they did have hayrides that came around several times each night - think bigger type trailer - they rode through some of the campground loops including ours, to see the campers' Halloween decorations! The Fort is really cool around Halloween with the decorations that campers put up. We will be back this year with my parents and will have our sites decked out!
My daughter just reminded me that they also had carriages that would come around to see decorations too! So maybe they are doing that now instead of the story of Sleepy Hollow. The hayrides sat about 30 or so, the carriages more like one family. They came around several times a night.
Yes, but my point was to let the OP know that the hayride would allow them to see some pretty cool Halloween decorations, which would be something else fun to do for the holiday. Which is what it sounded like they were interested in. Come on by and check it out.
I think going around to see the decorations would be a great thing to do. Where would I go to catch either the hayride or carriage ride? Are there also trams that drive through the loops of the campground?
Also, what would be the best way to get there from another resort?
