Hating The Police

I was a huge Police/Sting fan back in the day, but they haven't aged well for me. Also Sting went from being one of the coolest guys ever to sort of boring and middle-of-the-road. Having said that, I saw Sting perform with all those jazz guys (Branford Marsalis) and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.
A lot of 80s stuff hasn't aged well, there's a production issue and electronic drums that sound pretty awful now.

It's been over 30-40 years since '80s music came out. That's 30-40 years of dh playing all the same songs again and again.

He doesn't see why I am tired of his playlists.

We both grew up on the 80s. Heard it all when it originally aired and went to all the concerts. Once in a while is ok(last concert we went to was U2 2017 tour, and enjoyed it).

But I don't want to hear the 80s every day or week or road trip.

I also love Duran Duran, but, yeah, Hungry Like the Wolf isn't their only song! They had many other big hits. This is why I just don't listen to the radio at all anymore - I have all the songs I want to hear.

I hear ya. I love so many that you’ll never hear on the radio.

I still listen to the radio though. There’s an excitement feeling when you randomly hear a song you love. Not sure why, and maybe it’s just me, but I love having it happen.

I actually posted this to a group of friends on Facebook. We all love DD, and go to concerts together. It really made my day!

Maybe I won’t have to worry about hearing The Police on First Wave much longer.

Sirius sent me another e-mail demanding I pay up or else.

And it says I’ll be charged until THEY decide to deactivate my account or until I call to cancel.

I think my 6 month period for which I paid was up on something like June 23. I’ll call and explain that I’ve been a loyal customer for years and paid regular price all that time without threatening to cancel for a lower charge. Therefore, you will not charge me because YOU decided to continue providing me with service.

If all goes well, great. If not, watch out.

Think I was nasty via text to a real estate agent? That ain’t nothing compared to what a “Customer Care” agent will get if they try to pull any crap with me.

Never never ever get tied of Sting he could sing me the phone book and I would be like do it again I love his singing and try to catch him in concert every time he comes! I didn’t miss the Police tour when they got back together either - some groups you just love - feel same way about Big Bad Voodoo Daddy !!
but to each his own !! There are some singers I just can’t stand and will not listen to no matter what !!

I don’t know what it is, but for the past month or two, every time Roxanne, Every Breath You Take, or Don’t Stand So Close To Me comes on, I change the channel from First Wave to Lithium or Alt Nation.

I suppose I’m just tired of Sting and company.

I got tired of The Police by the mid 80s and bored with U2 by the early 90s.

Madonna started getting erratic in the mid 90s and went psycho by the early 00s.

Didn't his ex wife bring that up in court, that she felt it was a means to intimidate her? I totally got the creeps after I read that back when it happened.

Radiohead Creep is about a Stalker & so is Dave Matthews Crash.

When music plays in my head or out loud it reminds me of where I was and what I was doing when I first heard and it’s all good by me.

The Police are beautiful but I prefer Sting’s solo work and wish he had been able to work more with Cheb Mami. Great songwriter.

Nirvana would grate on my nerves during my first pregnancy and I would change the station. But when Billy Idol came on, I turned that up! Love it.

As far as Sting goes....I heard this song in Paris and fell IN LOVE with it!!! I wondered what happened to Sting...now I know!!!
