Has the DIS taught me nothing? Spring Break at WDW! **Trip Report Link p.12**

My Nana has a golden doodle. Her name is Sophie and she is the sweetest dog ever! I love the pic where Winston is staring at at wall. Maybe he did something naughty and was feeling a little guilty!

Is Sophie as kooky as Winston? He's sweet too, although I've seen a very protective side of him too. But that's a work in progress :rolleyes1

Yeah for and extra night!:banana::dance3::cheer2::cool1::thumbsup2
You'll really like POFQ I think!

I'm so excited to try a new resort! I've stayed at so many (gosh, that sounds so snobby, but, I'm a Floridian and have been visiting since I was 10!). I just realized I will be able to cross off all the values and mods after this visit! I've stayed at some Deluxe - AKL (but just one night on a solo trip), CR, Poly, BC, BWI, and WL. So I think GF is all that's left! I think :confused3 Not really counting DVC resorts, except Saratoga Springs since its a separate resort unlike say, BC which is connected to BCV. Wow that was a rambling mess. :rotfl:

Sophie has a great personality. She always wants to be the center of attention. She is kinda kooky and she's always sitting on chairs just like Winston! Maybe being a little kooky is just in their blood!

The pictures of your dog lying on 2 couches at once and the one of him just staring aimlesly into the corner are too funny!

Hi everyone!

Totally off topic, but I am just so darn excited, I have to share. I went to a private college for undergrad, and despite my mom's help and being a student worker, I did have to take some student loans out. Then for grad school, I ended up again at a private university and since I was going to be a full time student, I did not work and had no money to even come close to paying that tuition so more student loans came my way. Anyway, one of my monthly payments was just out of control. So after a few months of sending in paperwork and having really frustrating phone conversations, I'm thrilled to report that they lowered my monthly payment by a significant amount! We are talking hundreds less than I was originally paying every month!

:cool1: :woohoo: :goodvibes  :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

That was me this afternoon after I read the later, and then called to confirm what I was seeing.

Now on to an even better topic - my trip!

With the addition of an extra night/day, I ended up switching some of our park days around which meant I also had to switch our dining reservations. Luckily, I was able to get both Via Napoli and LTT on the days and times I wanted. Score! :thumbsup2

I will say I used TouringPlans as my guide for choosing what park for what days – since its free for everyone to see at the moment, I don’t think I’m breaking any rules by sharing that. ;)

Saturday 3-26
Animal Kingdom
*we will be arriving in the afternoon which I know will be a killer heat wise and possibly crowd wise, but we really want a full day in all the other parks (or that option anyway). Plus there aren’t a ton of things that are “must-dos” here. I’m just happy to be heading back to AK after not going for awhile
*no ADRs

Sunday 3-27
Epcot
Lunch ADR at Via Napoli

Monday 3-28
DHS
*no ADRs as of yet although I have been wanting to try Sci-Fi

Tuesday 3-29
MK
*lunch ADR at LTT
*I know it seems odd to be doing this park on our last day but I really don’t mind. DHS/AK are probably my least favorite/least magical and Disney like, for myself so I like to end a trip with either Epcot or MK.

As I think it out and the trip gets closer, I think I will share what our goals and must-do’s will be for each park!

We will also throw a trip to DTD in some evening, maybe even 2. I just love that boat ride from Port Orleans to DTD. We typically are done with most things by the afternoon and then head back to the resort for a swim. Occasionally returning to a park, but more often wandering around DTD.

In Winston news , we are heading to the Vet tomorrow for his yearly check up! To most this isn't all that exciting, but it is for me for two reasons. One, I have the biggest crush on my Vet, even though he is married. A girl can look, right? :rolleyes1 Two, Winston had a lot of tummy troubles during his first year or so and wasn't gaining weight the way he should be. If his hair was short, I thought he looked like the sad, pathetic dogs in the ASPCA commercials. But now, he has been doing MUCH better and has gained weight, so I'm curious to compare his current weight to what he was on his last visit to the Vet.

Thanks for reading! :cutie:

I'm here!! Great start!!

First of all, Winston is beyond adorable. My BFF has a goldendoodle...her name is Abby....she is more of the apricot color and they totally love her!!

Secondly, I hear you on the weight loss battle. I have lost weight, but since we returned from the World in October I have stayed the same. I exercise 5 - 6 days a week which just about kills anything I would like to do, but it's what I have to do. Two weeks ago I started writing down everything I eat again....by the time we go in August I want to be down thirty pounds. I know it's do-able, it just takes a ton of discipline. I find now that I am over 40 this weight loss thing isn't as easy...now having said that, I have never lost weight the right way. I have never been committed to exercise like I am now. I'll keep you posted on my journey, the scale is broken at the gym right now, as soon as it's fixed I'll update you!!

I am so happy you're going for 4 nights....we are lucky that we get to go for 2 weeks....I always justify by saying 'if I have to get on a plane and travel thousands of miles, I'm getting my monies worth"....makes sense right:rolleyes1

Thank you for reading! And doing so so quickly!

Thanks for the compliments on my Winston! A couple of his siblings were apricot colored, but I got "assigned" Winston. I wouldn't have it any other way now :lovestruc.

When I was a senior in high school, my mom and I joined WW together and my graduation day I had lost 30 lbs and made lifetime. I did great all summer until I went away to college - from Florida to Indiana - and made all these great, skinny, can eat whatever they want friends. Every year I just gained a little bit more and then in grad school, the trend continued - with a couple periods of losing 10lbs and then it coming back. I'm really trying hard this time around though. I feel like its interfering with my life and how I feel about myself.

Our Disney trips have always been on the shorter side. Of course I'm lucky and live 2 hours or so away so its not a big deal to drive up for a weekend even, just to get my "fix". I also do not like flying very much, but if I am getting on a plane, its going to be worth my while to be at my destination for awhile so I totally understand your thinking!

Winston update:
We went to the Vet yesterday for his yearly check-up. And I am happy to report that he got an A+ on his report card. The (still adorable) Dr. said everything is healthy and in good condition, and looks great! We were there in August and he weight 47lbs. Yesterday he weighed in at 56lbs! And apparently he is also getting taller, even though he turned 2 back in October. I thought he was done growing height wise, and would just fill out as he aged, but guess not. So now I know when I have to pick him up and carry him to his crate because he is too stubborn to walk with me, I am carrying 56lbs! Think that counts as a workout?

I'm plugging along, even though I'm not quite sure how many people are actually reading/interested. But its still fun to talk about a disney vacation - even if its only to yourself!

In life news, in addition to an achy mouth and temp crown (which I get the perm on Thursday - nervous and excited at the same time), I now am on antibiotics for a UTI. Seriously? I'm telling you - I hit 30, and it has been all down hill ;) I'm playing "supervisor" tomorrow at work to a SLP intern. The other SLP I work with (her actual supervisor) is on vacation all week so I get to boss her around Monday and Friday. Not really, she's actually very nice and a good therapist so far, but I hope she doesn't mind my constant trips to the ladies room!

I went shopping yesterday and even though I told myself I wasn't going to buy anything, I ended up with a candle that smells so delicious! It's called "Beach in a Can". I live 10 minutes from the beach, but I can't go all the time and this literally smells like the beach - sunscreen, ocean water, sand. :cloud9: I also bought a new Vera Bradley bag. It was not planned and I had seen it in a store, but didn't like the colors they had. Well, I happened to look at QVC and they had the same bag, in the color I wanted, for a special price! Even with tax and shipping, it cost less than if I had bought it in the store! So my first vacation shopping purchase has been made! It is the new Lizzy style in Lemon Parfait. It's a crossbody bag - I think of it as a smaller version of the Saddle Up style, which I also have in another pattern. It's just the right size for a small wallet, hand sanitizer, lip gloss, gum and iphone.

I've been looking to invest in some new shorts as well and Old Navy has lots that I like, plus I have a gift card, but I'm hoping that my size will go down in the next few weeks so I'm holding off. I'll keep you updated on these important decisions!

Hope everyone has a great week! :cutie:

Oh please continue to write....I can't wait to hear all about everything! I love your bag....it's so cute! I don't know what's more exciting, buying stuff before vacation for vacation or buying stuff on vacation:lmao:

Hope you're feeling better soon...but hon, I gotta tell you ...if you think it's all downhill after 30...wait until you hit 40:rotfl2:

Joining your fun report. I think you will like POFQ, my DH and I have enjoyed our visits there. Plus if you are lucky and get a remodeled room, they have queen size beds. They have also add more storage place around the sink area. You might want to requested an updated room.

The food court is smaller than POR, but fewer people are staying there so the crowd is about the same. I loved the fact most of the time you are the first bus stop going to the park(you will have a seat) and getting off when returning. Plus the walking distance between things is not as bad, as the other mod. resorts.

Having told you why I love POFQ, I ask myself why on my next trip I am staying at CBR. I think I promised DH we would try something new.

Thanks for joining! I'm actually really excited to try POFQ - on our walks over there it is so pretty. And I definitely remember how jealous I was when the FQ guests got off the bus first. That will be a nice perk, if we share with POR as well.

I stayed at CBR when I was in high school, I think 15, and my mom and I really did not like it. Last year, we took my niece and nephew for their birthdays and stayed in a pirate room at CBR, and we now have a completely different viewpoint. It is a really nice resort, the main pool is beautiful and the food court had lots of yummy things I've never seen in other resort food courts. My main negative is it is HUGE! But people say that about POR and I don't mind it at all when I'm there. We were only there for 2 nights and I think we only took the bus once, so I can't really give a fair assessment on that. I don't remember anything bad standing out though.

I'm all caught up! You'll be happy with your choice of POFQ..if anything, for the size! I was so thrilled when I was able to get into POFQ with my AP. We would have been fine with POR or maybe even went for CBR but I'm thrilled to try POFQ and hopefully get the new rooms!!! We're not checking in till 7pm or later so I"m going to hope that we get a new room! I put building 6 on my request so we shall see. By then, I'm guessing 7, 6, 4, 5, and maybe another building will be done so the odds will be in our favor!

I love the doggies! My parents have 2 cocker spaniel-a-poos (it *** when I just say the shorten version lol!!!) so they are like minis of your dogs but really mine look like yellow labs and they shed like them too! Our old ****-a-poo was just like a poodle but short and fat :) but the new 2 we have (that we weren't supposed to get after the old one passed) are just like mini labs, cute but we hate the shedding!

I love the shirts you got! They would not fit me either :( I'm trying the whole weight loss thing = not going out for lunch and sticking to what my kids are eating at school but..ya. I need to get back into my classes at the gym but it seems like they are late = 8pm or too early for me or not what I want = yoga, yuck! I've been going to an aqua fit class with my mom and she seems to like it and is seeing results, I on the other hand think it's too easy esp. since I used to go to that class and then the kick boxing after that (when they still offered it :( ) Good luck on the weight loss! My goal was to be back into a swim suit I bought last year a tad too small but so far it's not looking so great and now I'm getting sick, grrr those kids!

Can't wait for more!

I don't know if its because I am staying there or what, but I have been reading TONS of trip reports/resort threads about POFQ and how much people love it - its making me so excited! I definitely am aiming for a refurbed room, don't mind too much about the bldg location since its small.

I love my Winston - and all dogs! In my opinion, if you breed something with a poodle, it's going to be adorable! I'm still trying to find a picture of a St. Bernardoodle (St. Bernard/Poodle) and a Sheperdoodle (German Shepherd/Poodle).

Ahhh, weight loss! I've been having a hard time getting back on track over the past 2 weeks. And I'm feeling stressed right now about lots of little things so its only adding to my desire to eat! My original goal was to lose 18lbs by our trip, but I'm facing reality that its just too much for such a short amount of time, but I want to lose something significant by then. Once I lose enough to notice results, I'm usually motivated enough to keep going.

Loved this gif, so I thought I would check in for a reason to post it :)

I love it...thanks!

Everyone, sorry I haven't been posting too many updates this week. I'm very busy at work and also just anxious about my dentist appt tomorrow to be honest. I know getting a perm crown is not supposed to be a big deal, but any trip to the dentist is a big deal

I'm starting to make lists of my must dos for each park - rides, shopping, food, etc. Will definitely share all of that with you!

Hope everyone is having a great week! :cutie:

:grouphug::hug: About the dentist! I thought about you and hope it went better than expected. :goodvibes I am looking foreard to hearing all about the plans. If only we could DIS everyday instead of work and do the mundane things of life, that would be fun! :lmao: (Okay, I can dream):cloud9:

Hello Readers!

I had my dental appt today to get my perm crown. They had told me it was "simple" and I didn't need novacaine, but my DSIL, a fellow dental-phobe, says she has always gotten novacaine just so she feels nothing. So the dental assistant is so nice and knows how nervous I get and she offered to give me novacaine - yes please! Then the fun began. The temp came off easily, but I think they had a hard time getting my perm on. I'm not 100% sure, but I think they had it on and then while he was cleaning around it, it fell off and somehow may have nicked part of my gum because they threw gauze in my mouth and I have a weird dent/nick in the gum above my tooth. It better heal and not get infected! He also told me that I have a "good chance" of having it pop out a lot, because only 2 of my back teeth on that side hit when I bite - the crown being one of them. Yes, I have a crazy bite. So now I'm in complete fear that it is going to just pop out when I least expect it.

The worst is that it is throbbing, as I expected it would. And the novacaine is just starting to wear off. And of course, they have a new dental hygenist intern there learning how to do everything and I was terrified she was going to mess up on me! I remember my intern days very well - I didn't always know what I was doing or do things right!

Ugh, getting ready to have some ice cream for dinner, read the InTouch magazine I treated myself to, and watch lots of bad TV to take my mind off my stupid teeth. I am so glad tomorrow is Friday and I get my intern back! She can do a lot of the talking ;)

OUCH!! Painful day at the dentist!

One of the kids in my class, his mom is a dentist and I always find it so ironic how when we have parties, she ALWAYS signs up to bring a sweet/dessert lol.

I feel the same way about the dentist that you do.....and don't you think if somethings gonna go wrong, it always go wrong with people who have a fear:confused3

I hope you're feeling better soon...and I hope it doesn't pop off!!
