Has the DIS taught me nothing? Spring Break at WDW! **Trip Report Link p.12**

First... I hope the pain goes away quickly for you!

Second... YAY, you're going back to WDW! :woohoo:

Third... I totally understand the scheduling thing; while I can vacation rpetty much whenever, Leo's at the age where I don't want to pull him form school. (You know - it's different for Floridians; whereas a NY school might happily excuse a one-week absence for student to go to WDW, Florida schools are NOT HAPPY with that idea. ;) ) So... guess who might also be there during Spring Break? :faint: Luckily, Touringplans doesn't seem to think your time or mine fall within the BIG Spring Break period, so maybe we'll be okay? Here's hoping!

Fourth... I'm not a dog person. NOT a dog person. Except when it comes to poodles. :lovestruc I have no explanation, but they just seem different and I adore them. SO I'm thoroughly enjoying the Winston pics!

Fifth... WTG on the weight loss! I know how hard it is. And FWIW, I currently own 3 full sets of Old Navy shorts, each set a different size. I'm terrified to let any go, lol! :rotfl:

Sixth... I'm excited to hear about Via Napoli! We haven't been yet.

Seventh... nah, I'll stop there. I'm sure I'm missing lots of things, but I'm here and caught-up, so I'll save it for future updates!

So glad you stopped by - I feel like I have DIS-royalty on my TR!

Thanks for the *hugs*. It is actually feeling a lot better today, pretty much no pain. Just feels odd, like it's getting used to my mouth and vice versa. Hopefully that trend continues!

I know I'm partial to poodles, having one (well, part one), but I do think they are very different than other breeds. They have a presence about them or something. A "Je ne sais quois", if you will. My DSIL also is not a dog person - doesn't matter how nice, how little, how cute - but she even loves my mom's standard (Winston is still growing on her ).

Ahh, the weight loss has been stalled with my teeth drama the past 2 weeks. I was pretty much eating whatever I wanted because my mouth hurt, then when it felt better, I was stressed about work/school so I ate whatever again. Then once I was feeling back to normal, I went yesterday and am starting all over again! I may have had some starbuck's ice cream for dinner last night :rolleyes1 But I have no more excuses now that my mouth is slowly feeling better so hoping for a good week and a nice loss next Friday. :thumbsup2

Old navy shorts (and pants) have the weirdest sizing! I bought 3 pairs of the same exact shorts, same size, length, etc. One fits great in the waist but very loose in the legs/crotch area; one fits perfect all over; one fits tighter at the waist but perfect everywhere else. Crazy. I actually bought pants there, again same size, and one pair wouldn't even button, but the other one was perfect. I guess thats to be expected though - its not exactly saks 5th avenue

Hi everyone! Thank you for the well wishes on my teeth! :goodvibes I'm feeling better - see my reply above...

Hope you all have a great weekend! I'm planning on hitting the bank and then blockbuster after school - to rent Paranormal Activity 2! I'm a complete moron and thought that it came out a few weeks ago and made a special trip to the video store just to pick this up, only to realize it wasn't out yet . I did end up renting SATC 2 and Easy A - both decent, but I'm also easily amused. But this time, I double checked and PA2 is out for sure so I'm hoping they still have some copies left. I LOVE horror movies, especially ones about ghosts and hauntings!

Epcot holds a very special place in my heart. I have always enjoyed visiting the park, I think because I enjoyed the rides, and as a kid none of them were very scary or adventurous. I have very fond memories of riding Horizons and World of Motion over and over again. Honestly I would love to have those two rides back instead of their replacements, but I get Disney’s reasoning behind it.

The other reason I love Epcot is because I used to work here:

In 2002, I did the Summer Advantage college program – arrived the end of May and worked until just after the New Year. I was an attractions hostess in the Wonders of Life pavilion (RIP). If you remember back when it was actually opened and functioning, there were 2 shows called Cranium Command and the Making of Me – I did the spiels for those shows!

“Welcome to the Making of Me! Please watch your step as you enter the theater and move all the way down those purple benches, to your left. We ask that you refrain from eating, drinking, smoking, video and flash photography during the show. Thank you and enjoy the Making of Me”.

Thrilling, no?

Cranium was a tad more exciting as I was able to “talk” to Buzzy, the annoying boy/robot that controlled the kid’s brain.

Here I am in my snazzy costume!

Anyway, because I worked there, made a lot of friends there, and visited the park numerous times with said friends, it’s very comforting to me. It’s my “happy place”.

And because I just remembered I have all these old pictures on my photobucket account, here are a couple shots of my mom and I on a cruise back in 2008 (my grad school graduation cruise!)

Cool I found you again. I read your first page and then lost you. Sounds like you will have a great trip planned.
Hope your tooth feels better soon.
Love your doggy pictures:lovestruc

Great update!!! I must admit, even though I worked at MK INSIDE THE CASTLE, I still really enjoy Epcot. I'm not sure if I can say it's my favorite, come on, can you really beat a castle but if anything it's a tie for sure. AK on the other hand, I could have done without = working hot summer outside with just fans and water bottles did not do it for me but I did survive and had a pretty horrible tan that I attempted to even out on my days off!!

I'm jealous of the cruise! My mom and I both agreed that when she came to visit me the one time I was working in WDW, we should have done a cruise instead of a girls weekend with the GF Spa, Tea, Cirque, Halloween Party, shopping, etc. Oh well, live and learn! My hope is to go back seasonal, teach, and then be able to take a cruise without having to deal with WDW's FT/PT vacation bids at the start of each year!

Happy Valentine's Day Eve!

Since tomorrow is a busy Monday for me, I thought I'd post this today! I don’t have a human valentine, but apparently, I do have an admirer...

On Friday, when I checked the mail, I saw that Winston sent me a valentine! Not really sure why he mailed it since he lives with me ;)

Cute, huh?

The inside - what nice handwriting he has!

Hope everyone does something a little special for themselves or someone they love tomorrow! :lovestruc

OT: Tomorrow is my observation/evaluation at work. I get observed and evaluated twice a year by a woman downtown who couldn't identify me by name from a line up. But it has to be done. Send good thoughts that she likes my therapy activity (or a "lesson" as she calls it :sad2:) and that the kiddos in that group are cooperative and on their bestest behavior!

Hi there! Saw your post on my PTR and thought I'd join in on yours. I am almost positive I saw yours earlier but I guess I didn't post! Oh well. Anyway, looks like we'll be there at the same time. March is going to be awesome. :thumbsup2

I love your new Vera bag. The style and color are both really cute. I agree with you that it's like a mini saddle up. Great for the parks!

That's cool you used to work at Epcot! I miss the Wonders of Life pavilion. It's too bad it just sits there for most of the year now. :sad2: I think the part I miss most from there are those bikes that you could ride through Disneyland and stuff. hehe

pixiedust:pixiedust: For tomorrow!!:lovestruc Happy Valentines!!

Thanks!

I remember those bikes too. Sadly, even when I was there, the pavilion was slowly losing things. Only about half of the bikes worked and some of the other shows, I think Anatomical Players, had already stopped showing. I know they use it for special events and things, but it just seems like a waste of space for it to be sitting empty most of the time.

Good luck on your evaluation. I am sure you will do a wonderful job.

Thanks!

I appreciate your good luck thoughts. But I didn't need them since she had to reschedule  Honestly, in the fall, she cancelled on me 3 times and ended up having to ask my asst. principal to do it (talk about a blessing!). I know she is busy with big deal district things, but it is so frustrating when it happens over and over. Honestly I had a feeling it wouldn't happen - my intuition this morning was just telling me she wouldn't be coming. So...she is going to attempt to do it in 2 weeks. We'll see :rolleyes1

Also, Happy Valentine's Day! Just another day at work for me although a couple of my kiddos gave me lollipops and fun dip :confused3. Unfortunately, while the thought was there, I actually hate lollipops and eating sugar just doesn't do it for me. I'm a chocolate gal. But I do appreciate them thinking of me, they get so excited giving things to me. :goodvibes Besides Winston, I am my Valentine , and I bought myself a Kindle last night! It arrives Wednesday (thank you free 2 day shipping) and I am soooo excited.

Hope everyone has gotten their week off to a good start! I've got lots of student meetings this week and then a 3-day weekend so I'm heading down to my mom's house! I'm excited to go "home" since I haven't been down there since the Christmas-time. Thanks for reading! :goodvibes

I love my Kindle!!!! It's so easy to carry around!! I like to read at work on my breaks and having to carry around the huge books that I tend to read got to be a hassle..but I love the Kindle!!! Happy reading!!

Yah for a Kindle :cool1:
Sorry she canceled today.

For what it is worth I gave all my kids teaches a heart shaped box of chocolates

I am totally enjoying your PTRpopcorn:: The dogs are adorable:) Can't wait to read more!

First, I am praying the tooth is completley healed and sitting in your mouth, behaving itself forever!
Second, NO FAIR for the evaluator to get your nerves and emotions up and raw (I would be so nervous waiting for the day, and then to have her cancel...argghhhh!). Maybe your Asst. Prin. will get to evaluate you again!
Winston is the best Valentine a girl could have...always faithful, never breaks your heart...warm and cuddly and incredibly cute!
I am with you on the chocolate...I can see the little ones dancing and excited though to give you their presents! :yay:
I don't have one; however, the Kindle looks like one great gift!
Praying the day is a great one for you, the week is half over, which means you are that much closer to Disney!!!!:woohoo::yay::banana::woohoo::yay::banana:

Yes, forever is the key word! I do not want this thing falling out  Why he even told me it could come out easily seems like the stupidest thing he could have said to me, of all people. :confused3 I'd rather live in blissful ignorance when it comes to things like that.

My Kindle should be arriving today - very excited and already have some books I'm planning on getting. It's perfect timing - I'm just about finished with the book I'm currently reading :thumbsup2

My supervisor has cancelled on me or just not showed up so many times over the past 2 years that its become a running joke at work and with my family. I tell them that she's coming and they all laugh and say, "really?" or "let's see if she shows". Its frustrating and annoying - if I cancelled or no showed on her, I'd never hear the end of it. But I gotta do it. Next year is my last year of having 2 evaluations a year and then I will only have to worry about her coming one time. What really frustrates me (uh-oh, I'm getting on my soap box) is that she isn't even a speech pathologist. She is a teacher. Teachers are not speech pathologists and vice versa. I don't "teach" and I don't do "lessons" - I give therapy to children who need extra help with something, be it speech or language related. Yet she evaluates me based on the criteria they use to evaluate classroom teachers. Last year she told me I asked too many questions :confused3 Well that's what I do. I ask them questions. If they can't answer it, I ask it again a different way. Or give them a prompt. Then I have to go back and explain why its the answer and make sure they understand why that is the answer - because they are language impaired! If they could always answer it 100% of the time, they wouldn't be seeing me. Okay, stepping down now...:rolleyes1

I'm home having a "ladies' day" if you know what I mean  so I thought I'd get some updates in...

I received the Vera bag from QVC on Saturday! The pattern looks a little different than I remember it looking in the store, but still cute and very spring-like! For a small bag (I am a LARGE bag girl most days), it really has a lot of storage and compartments. It has 2 cell phone pockets and lots of zippered compartments on the inside and outside that have places to put credit cards, ID cards, park tickets and room keys! All in a safe, easy to get to package! I’d take a picture of them, but it’s too small to really see the detail so just take my word for it! And if anyone else out there is a huge VB fan like me, I read on facebook that they will be opening an outlet in Orlando!

I also purchased new pairs of my favorite Reef Sandals. I have always had a black pair, but they are getting a little gross. Plus they might have teeth marks in them – nope, not mine. So I got a new pair of black and since I had a “coupon”, I also bought a pair of chocolate brown! I didn’t get this exclusively for my trip, but I will be bringing one, if not both, pairs for DD, resort and pool use. Being in Florida, I always wear sandals of some sort. Every. Single. Day. And while I don’t usually wear these particular shoes to work, they are extremely comfy for weekend and after work shoes!

I’ve also been gradually adding items to my online shopping bag at Old Navy. I may be going a little overboard, but I’m putting in everything I like, then going back and getting rid of things I realize I don’t actually need. I was hoping I could be buying things in a smaller size for this trip, but since I haven’t lost anything in 2 weeks, I’m thinking it will be hard for me to drop that much. But I’m stilling chugging along. At least I know the things I have now will look better on me at a lower weight. I really need to get serious…it’s almost a month away!

I'm calling this Our “things we’d like to do this time” list (don’t want to have too much pressure that we must get it all done!):

Soarin’ – my mom and I both LOVE this ride

The Seas – the ride is definitely cute, but I really like looking at the sea critters. Swimming with dolphins and sea turtles is on my bucket list, and this is as close as I’ve gotten so far even though I’ve been snorkeling many times – only every see fish. Although I did see a spotted eagle ray in St. Martin last year! Pretty cool.

Spaceship Earth – a classic ride IMO, always have to do it

Pick-a-Pearl – this is a huge maybe. I was tempted on my last visit, so I may look again and see if there are any pendants that “speak” to me and the prices. I always wear a necklace with simple charms so it can’t hurt to have another one.

Japan – to replenish my lucky owl collection (I used to buy the lucky cats, but the owls are WAY cuter – and of course, more expensive)

The boat rides in Mexico and Norway

A WS film – we usually skip these, although I’ve seen the France movie a few times. I think part of the reason we skip a lot of them is because you have to stand up. We use the movies as rest! Maybe we’ll check out Canada since in 2012 we will be doing an Alaska cruise, and one of our ports will be in Canada!

Universe of Energy – we’ve skipped it the last few trips. I like it but hate that it takes up 45-60 minutes of your day!

Food – this one I can’t predict. I’m expecting a yummy meal at Via Napoli so probably will not eat tons after that – but maybe a grey goose slushie would go down nicely for “dessert”. I’m over the margaritas (at least the classic flavor) – had a very strong one over the summer and it has turned me off completely. I may also need to get some of the candy pecans. They sell the almonds everywhere but they are too crunchy/hard for my delicate teeth (not really, I just don’t how they feel) but I love the pecans and can only ever find them in Epcot.

And of course look at the beautiful flowers during the Flower and Garden Festival. My mom and I went last year in April because we had an extra day left on our ticket. Just for 2 nights and only went to Epcot. I took way too many pictures of the flowers, so I will close this update with some of my favorites:

Great pictures and great plans....Epcot has become my favorite park....I feel the most relaxed and holiday like there!!!:lmao:

I have also been lurking on Old Navy! We have one that's 2 miles from my house and it seemed like last year when I was going to the gym 5 days a week, I was in Old Navy every weekend buying new clothes..now, a different story and some of those clothes no longer fit! I'm starting my diet tomorrow I think, or this weekend, or Monday haha. We'll see! Tomorrow marks 30 days till the trip so I think tomorrow is good!

I LOVE the photos, they are GORGEOUS...Epcot is one of our favortie places. We love it! I also like your sandals, very comfy and cool looking. Have I mentioned we think speech pathologists are AWESOME?:banana::banana: We have known a LOT of them, because of Lisa and David...

I hope you are feleing better today and have an amazing day with your "children" if you are working. This made me think of you after your last update. :)
