last trip we ate at some places that are now serving whole wheat buns. Does anyone know what cs places serve the whole wheat or have they all started to??? TIA

Sorry to tell you...all Cs has switched to the wheat buns. This was a HUGE deal and still is here on the boards

Because of my health that is good for me I won't eat any bread unless it is wheat. I would hope they give choices when it comes to white or wheat bread. :)

Yes this is a huge problem especially for people who have an intolerance to wheat

Though anyone with a wheat allergy would also have an allergy to the white buns as well.

Disney does offer gluten free for those with wheat allergies.

I'm glad they are whole wheat, too:)

Well as long as your happy about it.......

IMO this wouldnt be a big deal if most of the time wheat wasnt so dried out and flavorless. Or if they just gave a CHOICE. But alas, it looks like the food police have once again gotten their way.

I was going to mention this too, it doesn't matter if it's white or wheat bread, mil can't have either unless it's gluten-free.

1) I don't eat wheat bread-buns-rolls.
2) I think the texture is like sandpaper.
3) Just ask for non-wheat buns when I go to WDW.

That is a true statement. White buns are still made with wheat flour. My son outgrew that allergy around age 4...thank goodness!

We had the burgers this past week and the wheat buns did not upset us at all. They were fine.

They all use the buns but they are not whole wheat they are multi grain. They are still mostly white flour taste bad yet are only mmarginally healthier. They do have things in them like rye and sunflower seed and have cross contam issues for people with nut allergies. The pizza crusts are also multi grain and I think some the waffles have also switched over.

They do not have any nuts. They're the enhanced buns/bread and not really a true wheat or a true multi grain.

I am very disappointed in this. My kids are not going to eat wheat buns. Can I still ask for a white bun or not? :confused3 I only like the wheat buns on chicken but I am going to eat a greasey hamburger I want the white bun.

I talked my brother into taking his daughter to WDW last week. It was their first visit. He came back with a lot of negatives- especially about the food. He said the burgers were the worst he's ever had and from now on, he'll drive to McDonalds for his burger when they get hungry :sad2:

Okay, what do you guys think about this? We figure when we're on vacation (and especially eating hot dogs and hamburgers) a whole wheat (or whatever Disney calls it) bun is like drinking diet coke with a Whopper..right? So, how about if we all take turns bringing in a package of our own white, squishy buns, asking for hot dog/HB without bun and sharing the rest of the package of buns with fellow DIS'ers (one more reason for the lime green Mickey heads from Home Depot)? Perhaps we could all just travel in packs....oh, no, no, I'm losing control here...

Dh and I only eat wheat or multi-grain buns/bread, so we're lovin' the change. I do think it would be nice if they offered a choice to people.:goodvibes

They do not have any nuts.
You are right they do NOT have nuts in the bread but they are NOT safe for nut allergic individuals. The previous buns were safe. The tiny fraction of multi grain stuff they put in the new enhanced "healthier" buns isn't safe for people allergic to nuts which is a total pain to deal with since it is now all buns, most breads, all pizza crusts, and apparently waffles now too. It made it insanely difficult for me to eat now to the point I had to eat at our resort CS each day in the afternoon when we took a break and they made me something special on the special rolls they had for a specialty sandwich that were still not multigrain.

There is no choice of buns they are all the same multi grain as are a bunch of the other bread products. At the CS places that serve allergy safe foods they do have a white tapioca bun that is gluten free but it tastes really bad and you have to wait 20 minutes because they are stored frozen.

Does anyone know the reason Disney made this change? Since it's still mostly white flour I doubt it has to do with the food police as mentioned earlier. My guess would be that for some reason they're cheaper. Other than that I can't think of a reason for Disney to make the change, unless it was from consumer demand and even then Disney normally doesn't listen.
