Has anyone used the Disney grocery delivery?

We are thinking of using the grocery delivery from Disney, any comments on it? Also, do you have to be present when they drop it off, or do they just leave it in your room? Does it come in a cooler?

The items that they deliver are from the resort stores. Limited selection and high prices. You may be better off using a off site delivery company or renting a car for a day.

You may want to try gardengrocer.com. My family used it last year and thought it was very convenient! They drop the groceries off at your resort at the time you request. The resort will hold the groceries for you until you request them and then they will have them delivered to your room.

Disney prices are the same as buying at the resort store, plus the selection is poor. You can rent a car for the day at the dolphin for under $40. You will save this easily by going shopping at walmart or wynn Dixi. To answer your questions you do not have to be present and they will put items in the fridge for you. Leave a tip in a marked envelope for better service.

We always use Wegoshop.com. They shop at where you want, deliver directly to your room and usually put up your groceries in the kitchen. They are very reasonably priced and very reliable. You will pay a lot less for groceries if you go through them than the Disney grocery service.

We have used the Disney service and think the selection and prices are just fine. The big advantage with using Disney is that you do not need to be in your room when the groceries are delivered. They will not just put them in your room, but will put everything away so that nothing spoils. A real plus for Disney groceries I feel.

Is there somewhere that I can log on and see the selection for the Disney groceries and do a bit of pre-planning? I have been on Garden grocer and I will have a look at wegoshop. I would like to have it ordered and there when we arrive.

We have used Disney usually for "first day" things because we may not to get to a store the first day. Consider prices way too high otherwise. They deliver even if not there and put perishables in the refrigerator. You can go to the official DVC site and then to the "vacation planning" section and you will find grocery delivery order forms and prices for each resort.

You think the prices are okay, I live in a high cost of living area and think the disney prices are outrageous. I used garden grocer in September, the delivery charge was $12.00 that was it. I got what I needed at much lower prices and I didn't have to be nor was I in my room. The groceries were left with bell services and I recieved a phone call telling me that they were delivered. When I went back to the resort bell services brought my groceries right up when I called, they kept the groceries cold and I got everything I ordered.

I've used the Disney service two times because I love the convenience of walking in my room and my groceries are in the kitchen, very organized on the counter or in the fridge/freezer. It was really nice during my last trip when our flight was delayed and we didn't get to resort until 11pm.

We were able to purchase breakfast and snack items for 4(2 adults and 2 teens) for less than $10 per day. Hard to believe you will be able to beat that by a whole lot, but I guess you can.

I know you might not believe it, but Disney and Garden Grocer are pretty much even on prices, I priced all the items at both places, and some things are less at Garden Grocer and some are less at Disney, and some are the same at both places. Disney also only charges $5 and GG charges $12 for their delivery. Now if you want ground beef, poultry, steak, etc. you can't order those from Disney. I really like how Disney will put it away for you, that's great.

You have to go to the DVC member page and download the grocery list

We have used Garden Grocer (all went well) in the past and are trying wego shop this year (we want her to get diapers, etc and want her to specifically shop at Sams Club).

If there was anything from Disney that we wanted, we simply bought it ourselves are carried it back to the room ourselves.

I suppose it depends what sort of grocery list you have--Disney didn't work for us. We ate in at least once a day and wanted more variety. Heck, Apple Juice alone was worth it--all we could get was a single serving (15 oz) bottle for $1.99 ea. We go through a gallon a week of the stuff.

Now if we just needed a dozen eggs, a loaf a bread and a half gallon of milk I wouldn't bother buying off property. I'd just pay the resort price and be done with it.
