Has anyone used the DDP while staying at a FW Cabin? Or place with kitchen?

Hi everyone,

I am trying to price out the DDP pros and cons for our upcoming trip December 2018. Our kids will be 2.5 and 4 and are so into the Fab 5, so this will be a heavy character meal trip. I am hoping for one character meal each day, including Mickey’s Backyard BBQ which is only one we picked that requires 2 TS credits. This is our last trip where we do not have to pay anything for our daughter since she will still be under 3, so I figure why not go all out on character meals lol

I am just worried about all the snacks and QS we’ll have with DDP. I wonder if we’ll use them? This will be our second stay in a FW cabin which has a full kitchen, and which I did use for breakfasts/snack-for-park assembly last time we were there. I had garden grocer deliver food. We were always people to bring in our own food but I guess would transition over to eating more in parks? Can I bring snacks back to cabin? prices for garden grocer were more expensive than regular grocery store so I’m not sure that route is even great. Any thoughts?

we did this in 2016 but did Hoop Dee Doo instead BBQ at the cabins. did bring breakfast stuff with us but it is just too far on park days to come back for meals we found. we did use some snack/counter serve at the take out part of Trails End. pack some Ziploc bags for bringing stuff from parks back and yes we did that

You can definitely bring food back to the cabin. We got a cabin for my BIL and his family (6 people). They qualified for the free quick service plan and also joined us for many TS meals. Bring an insulated backpack with empty Tupperware and an ice pack, throw leftovers in that and put in fridge.

Or load up on snacks and pack them in the fridge/freezer.

Ooh good idea!! I feel like there’s always so many things I want to try at the park to eat but I get so full, so maybe I can just bring them back to cabin for later!

We've never stayed at a cabin, but we have stayed at Villas (CR, BW) with a full kitchen. Like you planned to, we used the kitchen for breakfast and in-room snacks, and would often bring snack-credit snacks back to our room to enjoy later. True, we never used the kitchen to cook lunches or dinners, but the villas have always been worth it to us because we don't like taking time to eat breakfast at the parks...plus, I LOVE having the convenience of in-room laundry at the villas!
