Has anyone used Murray Hill Transportation?

I am deciding between Tiffany and Murray Hill Transportation for our trip in two weeks. Has anyone used Murray Hill? Thanks :earseek:
 
Yes, we have used them twice. Once last June and again in December. We used to always use Tiffany but then I discovered that I could get a deluxe stroller booking with Murray Hill for $20.00 for the entire week! Well that sold me. Actually this last time, the owner actually came out to meet me. He had another run so he walked over to us and introduced himself and thanked us for using his services. We requested a car and received a van. Very comfortable. There were 4 of us. Yep, going to use them again in June and November. Their prices are very comparable and there is also a discount coupon at the bottom of their website. Hope this helps you to make a decision.
 
I used Murray Hill in October and would have to say they were just okay. I had a very hard time locating my driver in the baggage claim area...had to call MH and tell John where I was and he then called the driver who came to me. Then on our return trip, I think the driver took the long way to the airport because another person that we were waiting with at WL arrived at the airport before we did even though we left WL with our driver first. Her driver had not even arrived yet when we left the resort.

Also, we did NOT get the photo stop. I asked if we could have it on the return portion of the trip since DH and I arrived separately, but no mention was ever made of it.

I don't think I'll be using them again.
 

We used Murray Hill for our trip in December and we will never use them again. They were basicly fine. They picked us up at the airport fine and they picked us up at the resort on time (that was no problem). What we didn't like was the driver. He didn't speak more then 10 words to us. Unknown if he knew english or not. The driver was nice but very silent. I know at times when you leave the resort your exhaused and you want silence but this person didn't even try to give us any conversation:(. We have had Tiffany and they were great. We never had a problem with them. I think next time we will go back and book Tiffany.
 
I see some of you didn't like Murray Hill. If you had any problems, did you contact John about them? I would call and tell them how you felt (or email him). I'm sure he will take care of you. No company likes to get bad referrals. Just my opinion. :rolleyes:
 
We have used them on several occassions and plan to use them again this summer, I would reccomend!
 
We used them in December and were very pleased. On the return trip we needed to add 4 more passengers to the van and since they didn't have enough room, they sent an extra car and driver to pick them up. They couldn't have been more accommodating! We would definately use them again.
 
We used Murray Hill last May and they were excellent. To be honest, I could care less if the driver doesn't talk as long as he does his job and isn't rude!!
 
I used them in September and they were great. The first pick up was by John himself, he was waiting at the baggage claim and already had some of our suitcases! We did the grocery shop and he was very attentive. The second driver wasn't has nice (polite but not quite as personable as John) but we were OK with it. He was on time, he helped with the luggage and got to our destination safely. That's all I'm looking for in a driver, when they have a good personality I think of it as a plus. I'll definitely be using them again on my trip. HTH :cool1:
 
We have used MH trasnporatation for the past 6 visits. They are always accomodating. If for any reason you were disatisifed with thier service they will want to know. Please dont hesitate to call them.
 
We used them in November and had what I considered to be a Major problem. While it was taken care of in the end, there was no way to rectify it at the time it occured unless we wanted to miss our plane.

We were a party of 7 with 1 suitcase and 1 carryon apiece. We also had a double stroller and a car seat, they provided us an additional booster seat. We paid the extra fee for a VAN. They sent a vehicle with only 7 seats meaning if you count the driver we were one seat short. The driver told us MH does this all the time. There was not really enough room for our luggage and definitely not enough room for us. The driver said he had spoken to MH but they insisted he be the one to pick us up as they did not have another available vehicle. So, we did the best we could. Made sure the kids had seat belts and had to carry a lot of our luggage on our laps, under our feet, piled to the ceiling of the vehicle. We were VERY unhappy, very uncomfortable and very dissatisfied.

About a month after we got home they refunded us our money for that portion of our trip but I feel they compromised our safety and to me, no money can replace that. We will NEVER use them again.

When it was happening MH called my cell phone wondering where I was. They apparantly dispatched a van to pick us up but he arrived 15 minutes AFTER we had already left. We had no way of knowing he was coming and had we waited we would have missed our flight. The owner of MH was quite rude telling me I should have waited, how was I supposed to know to wait? He didn't contact me until 15 minutes AFTER we were already picked up. I didn't really feel like we had time to call him and argue about it, we would have missed our flight. As it was we made it to our gate with only about 5 minutes to spare.
 
I remember reading a post from you right after this happened. I am glad to know they at least refunded some of your money! You are absolutely right that no amount of money is adequate for jeopardizing your safety, but I am glad it all worked out in the end.

There are only three of us that need to fit in our Town Car, with an average amount of luggage. I think we will be ok on space, so I hope nothing else goes wrong!
 
Another somewhat dissatisfied MH customer here. I do intend to e-mail them but will wait a couple of days. I booked our RT van transport from MCO/Swan for 1/3 and 1/11 online in early December.

We had a flight change 8 days before arrival and when I e-mailed I got no reply, went to the website for the phone number and saw a notice that their e-mail staff was on vacation for the week after Xmas and returning 1/3 (my arrival day) ....it said to call their dispatch with any bookings or questions. So I called in the new flight number and arrival time (earlier) and also cancelled the stroller rental we'd booked (DIL decided to bring her own) and was told by "Tony" that I was all set. I also sent two e-mails assuming they would get them upon arrival at the office on 1/3. But we arrived in baggage claim on 1/3... and no driver with a sign for us :( Called and spoke to John and it was apparent Tony had not recorded the change. John offfered to give us the $20 deluxe stroller rental for free for our inconvenience, but when I said that I did not need the stroller (and that was part of the change phoned in) he did NOT offer to take the $20 off the fare, but said someone would be "right there". Then about 5 minutes later he called back and asked us to make our way down one level to Ground transport and we would be met at a certain spot number in about 20 minutes. So we lugged ourselves and all our stuff down and eventually a very personable driver (Karina) and van arrived, we did our grocery stop at Publix, and began our excellent vacation.

With that glitch in mind I called MH yesterday to confirm a 9 am pickup this morning. I was assurred that there would be no problem. I wrongly assumed that with the mix up on our arrival that the driver would be prompt and we had checked out and were waiting by 8:50 am. At 8:55 I called MH and was assurred by John that the driver was on the way. At 9:05 I called and told John I was very nervous about this after what had happened at arrival and that we needed to be at the airport promptly (flying SWA and needed to check in for the open seating thing), and what assurrance could he give me as to when to expect the driver? He said he could not reach the driver but had talked to him at 8 am. Because I was anxious and pressing him he then he said he'd call ANOTHER driver who was "5 minutes away" .... well 5 minutes later at 9:10 the "first" driver arrived...I told him he may want to call John to cancel the second dispatch and that I'd called because of the time...and he asked ME "what time is it?" I said "10 minutes past the time of our pickup, which normally wouldn''t upset me but since our pickup on arrival never showed I was nervous"...and he then says "sorry, it wasn't my fault" :eek:

So, although things worked out OK in the end, I do not think I would book again with them. I had used Tiffany several times for towncars in the past with no issues at all, and decided to try MH because of a better price...but I believe I'll probably go back to Tiffany or try FL Tours next time!
