Hi

Has anyone used them are they any good? Do they have seat back TV. We might have to use them to NYC unless BA or VA drop thier prices. :sad2:

We flew with them about 3 years ago. Didn't have any problems with them. Can't remember our plane having seat back tvs but as I said it was a few years ago. Food was particularly good, it was American and not British.

Hi

Thanks for letting me know. We flew with Delta in 92. They were good, but the entertainment was rubbish back then, but it probably was on all airlines.

I managed to find some cheaper flights with BA and VA with Airline Network and Ebooker so fingers crossed I can book the flights soon. We had to pay out for another car, so it has knocked our savings a bit.

We flew with them in Oct 05 and changed at Chicago...We had a 3 hour plus delay flying out, but they held up the connecting flight in Chicago as there was about 100 fellow passengers also connecting to go Orlando...As I can remember, we had plenty of leg room as much as you can get in economy..you could check out there website for seat pitch...food was good..yummy Chicago pizza...and staff helpfull...would fly with them again

We have always flown American-until now.

Our last trip in January was suppose to be an eight day trip, they cancelled our 6:30am flight and never gave us a real reason-weather was fine. We ended up with a 2:50 pm flight the next day that was then postponed to 4:45pm. Everyone was very rude and unhelpful and when they rebooked our flight they put me DH, and DS (7) all over the plane. When we asked to at least have our son sit with one of us they were very rude and acted like we were inconveincing them. We ended up being 34 hours late, so basically lost 2 days of vacation.

Then to top it off they lost 2 of our luggage on the return trip. I swore I would never fly again-after that week I was completely drained. But as you can see I am already planning my 2008 trip.

When I got home I wrote a huge letter about the way we were treated-not complaining about the delays because we understand that happens. It took two weeks to get a reply that it is basically my tough luck. My hsuband said he does not care how much we have to pay for airfare-we will never use them again.  :headache:

We flew with AA to NY and Boston a couple of years ago. They did not have seat back t.v's then just the drop down ones in the middle of the aisles. The flights were good.

I think BA and VA are getting crazy with their pricing. we have to look at other options also:(

I have flown with them to NY a couple of times from Heathrow, and to Chicago also from Heathrow, had seatback tvs all of those times. They did used to have much better legroom than BA / Virgin, but I think the were phasing this out over the last year or so?

We had a technical problem over the Atlantic 2 years ago, spent 7 hours in Gander - not fun in February. AA were frankly rubbish - because they had no presence in that airport, we didn't get offered so much as a drink. Luckily, they took US$ and we had cash, but they basically abandoned the passengers until we were told to get back on the plane.

I would fly with them again however as generally they have been fine, and this was, touch wood, a one off blip that doesn't generally occur :goodvibes

I flew AA in Xmas '05, I found them one of the best airlines I have flown to the states (and I have tried alot of them;) ), they had good legroom, good food and very helpful staff. Just great:thumbsup2

We flew with them to New York a few years ago and had no problems.

Hello, we flew with them to Miami in 2004 and found the service excellent with 34" legroom and good meals and seatback screens, however when we flew with them to NYC in February last year, they had phased out the extra legroom, the service was still very good but the meals were poor especially the breakfast which was abysmal, however the price of the flights were much cheaper than Virgin and BA

Hi

Thank you for your help! I am so excited I booked my flights with BA for a tad more than AA. I am so stupid I cant seem to book AA since 9/11.

Another thing we liked about BA the flight includes drinks and all entertainment etc.

Fingers crossed we will not be delayed.
