2025 Wine and Dine

I feel robbed as someone whose been perfect for the 10k
Because the 5th anniversary obviously was virtual due to the pandemic and now the 10th anniversary medal doesn’t even say anything (unless it’s on the ribbon) and imho the Olaf medal from the 2019 W&D 10k was so much prettier looking

Wasn’t thrilled when they announced the themes and I’m definitely not wowed by the medals, but I have learned they always look better in person and I love W&D weekend. I’ve been doing the challenge since 2017, no reason to stop now, these will just go in a box with many others.

I always get a finisher photo wearing the medals. I might actually skip that this year so there’s no photographic proof of me being anywhere near these hideous monstrosities. I thought the themes were the worst I’ve ever seen, so at least the medals are on brand.

I have to say, perfect for the challenge, but overall these medals are underwhelming. It also drives me nuts that you didn't have to do the virtual in '21 to be perfect, but they counted that year. Oh well, one more for me so I can actually run 10 years and then I might drop down to just the 10K.

It sucks that perfect isn’t for all distances since we’ll be perfect with the 10k virtual in 2020 included

One of the least attractive sets of medals I've seen in my 20+ years running Disney!

Why they allow sloppy, clip-arty designs like this to represent their very expensive events to the broader public is beyond my comprehension. Cheapens the runDisney brand and experience going forward.

They are phoning it in on this race and it shows. It looks cheap. Does not inspire me to spend money.

Given that merch is such a huge part of the runDisney experience, I wish they'd consistently (!!!) put their better graphic designers in charge of the artwork for race weekends. They seem to go out of their way to make things ugly sometimes!

Anyway, to be more positive: I'll save money on merch this time around! Still looking forward to the races!

Soo how are everyone's restaurant reservations looking like?

Mine window just opened this morning.
I wanted to try and get into some of the new places like Geo 28 or the Beak and Barrel but nothing was opened for the times we were there.

We fly in Friday. So we have 5pm Saana on Friday. Staying at AKL so keeping it easy for us and man do we love that restruant.
Then Saturday booked 9:25 breakfast at Garden Grill as part of their Concert Series. So we will be able to see Smash Mouth at the 5:30 pm show and then we will head back to resort for bed time. It may be a little of a rush to get to it at 9:25am rez after the run... but I loove a big breakfast after running the 10k and it was the only breakfast time open. I never been to that restaurant soo should be fun. And super excited to see Smash Mouth!! I looved them when I was a teenager. I almost booked the Sunday night one but then saw Smash Mouth was only there on Friday and Sat and Sunday some local country band comes in.
Sunday we have no food reservations. Keeping it open to see if we can squeeze in either one of the two new places with a last min cancelation and of course their is just eating and drinking around the world.

I also scheduled 4pm photo session at MK for my medal pics on Sunday. I did that for my Dopey and now I will always do it. It is still pretty affordable and I love just having my own photographer and getting all the medal pics done at once.

Booking the dinner reservations makes me realize how close we are!

We didn't get either of the reservations we wanted, so signed up for *********** alerts. Unfortunately, our MNSSHP day is the first day of our trip, October 23rd, and we really wanted Beak and Barrel reservations for like 11:45 PM. There were none available. We also wanted Space 220 Lounge reservations at any time on Sunday, but no dice.

Yep I am going to sign up for alerts too.

We are staying at Wilderness Lodge, so reserved Steakhouse 71 (it's an easy boat ride to the Contemporary) for celebration dinner on Sunday. Also reserved a big breakfast at Whispering Canyon. Probably have a dinner from Geyser Point one night. We thought about doing the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue, but not sure that everyone with us would be up for that. Other ideas are Tony's, Jungle Navigation Skipper Canteen, etc.

We are actually there for our fall WDW trip the week before the races, so we booked ours already. Not a lot, as we try and hit the F&W booths at Epcot as much as we can. We also have a big group of family members who pop in and out all week, so it's tough to coordinate who all wants to go where. But DH is addicted to the fried chicken at Prime Time and I HAVE to have the salad at Brown Derby, so we did book those. We also managed to snag V&A for the two of us!

I generally don’t book reservations as I’m not a sit down person, but I think I may book Sanaa lunch on Monday afternoon. I’ll be 1 night at AKL and leaving later Monday, so it makes sense to have a nice meal before heading to the airport. Otherwise, I’ll wing it as usual. Have 3 nights at Swan, so hope that gives me a chance to hit F&W at off hours so it’s not so crazy—unlikely, but I can try.

I also don't usually book ADRs. In fact, I'm not sure how it works. in MDE it shows that starting tomorrow we can book dining but is it just for the first day of our stay that will be available? It looks like the rest of our trip would still be greyed out? After all these trips to WDW, I can't believe I don't know how this works!!

Thank you. We are staying on property. Do I just go thru my MDE and I'll see our whole stay as available to book? Is there a time of day that the reservations open when it's your day?
