Hi-- I was just wondering if anyone had gone to the TRi-Circle-D Ranch and Farm at Fort Wilderness. We found this under the WDW.com recreation site. It said they have horseback riding for kids (over 9) and pony rides for the younger kids-- has anyone gone here?

The site said it is where Cinderella's ponies live.. .sounds fun for any horse loving kid!

thanks!
jen

DD8 has loved the ponies for the past several years! She knows them by name. Our last visit she kept asking for "Snowy", however, she was busy with several weddings that week. All of the ponies are very tame. A parent guides them around the petting zoo area. It's a lot of fun

We love it.. and we are for sure going back this time... the rides are 3.00 ea... they are very neat.. you guide the pony that your child rides... very neat for only 3.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I heard in October its going up to 4.00 I think!

I have also done the horse back riding too.. and loved it for myself! Very neat and they tell you all kinds of neat things.. one of my family members actually rode the hours that Sleeping Beauty rides in the parade! Very neat experience.

Are great, our grandson loved them.We loved seeing him and all the little ones on the pony's. :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:

I have a niece (4) who is a HUGE fan of horses. I'm going to try to get her on one of the pony rides, I just hope she doesn't chicken out because I think she'll really love it. I think I'm more excited about doing this than anything else this trip. LOL

We arrive early next Sunday after flying overnight. We probably won't want to waste a park day on a day we'll all be tired so I think we'll hang out at the Poly pool, maybe ride some of the watercraft, and I was thinking of taking my DD to FW for a pony ride. We took her when she was 2 1/2 (her first pony ride) and she loved it.

Does anyone know what hours they do it?

I think they close at 5:00, but not sure what time they open. My 3yo loves to ride the ponies, but a warning in advance, the child must wear closed toe shoes. I don't know why they won't let them do it in sandels. :confused3

Thanks everyone-- I just called. They are open from 7 am until dusk everyday according to 407-WDW PLAY. thanks again for your advice! jen

they probably wont do in sandals because they dont want their toes stepped on. It only takes one stomp, to learn to wear boots around horses.....believe me... (I own 2 horses, and every barn Ive been to has a closed toe rule)

Actually, I'm pretty sure it is the adult who is leading the pony who has to wear closed-toe shoes--but for the same reasons. I've seen them 'not notice' though, but we always wear tennis shoes when we head up to do the pony rides.

Not trying to contradict but DS4 was there in August and rode Snickers with sandals on.
He had a great time.

Beware, though. They have a height and weight restriction. DD was way too tall (55") and heavy (85#).

Yeah, it's the adult that is supposed to wear closed toe shoes... but we're usually in tevas and they don't say anything. :confused3 If our toes get stepped on it's our own fault. I grew up riding, and I know how much it hurts!!
