We are driving to WDW in Dec. with our DSs 4 and 7 and our DD 61/2mo. We kinda know what to expect from the DSs because we've driven to WDW before with them, but we have know idea how DD is going to handle it. :confused3
Has anyone else gone on extensive (for us 22hr) road trip with a baby around this age? How did it work out for you? How far were you able to drive before they had had enough? We are planning to leave around 5p and drive mostly at night for the first day, so we are hoping that she will sleep most of the time. We are planning on at least a 2 day drive, leaving Thurs. night and arriving Sat. morning or afternoon.

Hey Not So, :wave2:
Our first trip we drove down (24hrs)with a 7,2 and 6mo. I was breastfeeding at the time so I sat on the back with 6mo baby and she was fine. She enjoyed singing, :rolleyes1 had her favorite toys, I would put on puppet :joker: shows for her. For the boys I made craft bags(the birthday party goodie bags) with the craft projects all cut out, :artist: they just had to put them together.(glue sticks are a good thing) When we would stop to get gas I would walk around the gas station with each one. We also purchased a tv for the van and that kept them entertained. We watched :happytv: Nemo at least 10 times. About 15 hrs into the trip we did have to take a break from the drive and walked around a walmart for awhile. That was more for the 2 year old than the baby. I would take note of the things that are most soothing to your little one and try to recreate those moments as best you can in the car.
Hope this helps

I have an 8 daughter & 4 year old son. When my daughter was 6 months, we drove from Maryland to Colorado. We pretty much drove straight through taking turns driving, and spent the night in Nebraska at a hotel. She did great...MUCH better than expected. The only problem I had was on the way back she was teething and nothing helped! Keep in mind that you have two small entertainers too. Bring some puppets or stuffed animals and they can put on a show. My daughter used to do that for my son when he was young...it was a help when he just couldn't take any more! GOOD LUCK!!!
