We stayed there for 2 nights in July. The rooms were clean and actually a very decent, big size and the beds were comfy. There's also a free breakfast in the morning that consisted of cereal, oatmeal, muffins, danishes, juice and then a rotation of hot items. One day we had pancakes and scrambled eggs and the next was biscuits and gravy and hard boiled eggs.
The hotel is not within walking distance of the parks. It's past the convention center. There is the ART shuttle or you could probably walk to the toy story parking lot and hitch a ride there.
While the rooms were decent, the front desk staff was not so much (we had no problems with the maids though, our room was always perfect!). They were less than personable when we were checking in. Seemed kind of huffy to be bothered. We went to the spa one night and they were out of towels, so I went in and asked if they had more towels or if I should bring mine from my room. Again, a huffy attitude and it took almost an hour to get the towels out there.
We also found the clientele to be, for lack of a nicer word, trashy; Drunk idiots with a bottle of vodka and rum down by the pool the first day; People shoving muffins by the handful into sandwich bags; people letting their kids run amuck up and down the halls; we heard a lot of choice language at breakfast. I don't know how else to describe it without offending someone, but it wasn't what I would expect from a good neighbor hotel in the
Disneyland area. However, with that said, I didn't feel unsafe.
So honestly, if you're going all day in the park and not hanging out at the hotel, it's a clean, comfortable place to crash for the night. If you want to use the pool/spa, or take particular offense with a less than friendly front desk, I would look elsewhere.
