Has anyone seen Nine? Or known anyone that has?

I was really looking forward to this film but while it's getting nominations for various awards, it's not doing well at all in the theater. I have yet to talk to anyone IRL that has seen it. Seems the other blockbusters that came out at Christmas overshadowed it.

Is it because the movie is bad? Or just overlooked?

Anyone seen it?

my 19 year old niece was so excited to see it. she went by herself, but hated it. said it really stunk. too bad, she was so excited. she said she would have walked out if she wasn't seeing another movie after nine ended.

It was ok. Nothing special. I didn't love it and didn't hate it. I wish I had been familiar with the musical or the score beforehand, as I usually am. I went with my best friend and she thought the same thing. I did like how Rob Marshall incorporated a lot of the same techniques as he did with "Chicago" (i.e. some of the musical numbers being more of a dream-like sequence rather than a "Let's just all burst into song" type thing.)

DH was just telling me tonight that a business associate of his saw it and hated it. :confused3

I'm going tomorrow to see it. I was going to wait for it on DVD but my friend wants me to see it with her. So, girls day out!

I've heard it's quite the stinkbomb, but I'm still going to see it when I can. 2 hours looking at Daniel Day Lewis can't be all bad:love:

with all the talent in that film I expect great things. But all the previews of it remind me of Moulin Rouge, a movie I hated. I loved Chicago though.

I haven't seen Nine yet. I was going to because I loved Chicago, but after hearing everyone's reviews I'm nervous about wasting a movie ticket on it.

I, too, was dying to rush out and see it. But because of the bad reviews...........I'm waiting for the video;)

Yeah I saw it! I may be the only person who liked this movie. It's very dark but I thought it was interesting. My friend on the other hand, hated it. She asked me if we could walk out 20 minutes into the movie! She had the expectation that it would be singing and dancing the whole time, which it's not. Surprisingly, the only performance I enjoyed was Kate Hudson's Cinema Italiano. It's the only "upbeat" song. But overall, I liked it. Was it the best movie I've ever seen? No. but it wasn't the worst either.

My brother's GF mentioned this since she we saw Fergie perform and is in the movie as well?
She was going to see it but heard it was awful.

I'm a big fan of movie musicals in general.

Walked out about half way through this clunker.

Boring...no plot...didnt care about anyone in the movie...Judy Dench's singing.

Had high hopes for this after seeing Rob Marshall's Chicago.

Big disappointment.

It's no Chicago, but DH and I enjoyed it. Some sections are stronger than others and the story is a litte convoluted.

DH said Penelope Cruz's very sexy opening number was worth the ticket price! Our reviewer said he didn't think he could ever get tired of women in bustiers and fishnets, but that this was overkill.

Dh and I saw it last night...It is a total clunker, stinker, bomb....we didnt like it at all. The only bright spot was Kate Hudson's song and dance. We were really disappointed especially considering all the headliners that were in this flick. I would wait for it to hit cable...I wouldnt even spend the $$ on renting the dvd.

Aw, so disappointing to hear! I LOVE Moulin Rouge, and enjoyed Chicago a lot, and really was looking forward to something similar.

It'll be a Redbox movie for us - thanks for saving me $20 in movie tickets!

With everyone saying it's awful, I'm probably going to love it. Can't wait!!! I really like weird, quirky, dark, musical stuff. Daniel Day Lewis intrigues me. Kate Hudson is from good song and dance stock so she's gotta be entertaining. Penelope Cruz just looks lucious in the trailers. How could it be bad?
