I have scrutinized quite a few of these companies as DD is getting married in the spring and we don't have an unlimited amount of money for her wedding. What I learned is that most of these Chinese-based "companies" are actually clearing houses. They post photos of designer dresses from here in the US and say they'll make that dress. Turns out many of these places don't even have a factory/workshop. They put orders out to bid and hire the lowest interested party. What I've been told is that if I ordered several dresses from one of these places, there is no guarantee that they'd even be made by the same factory, much less of the quality or style in the photos. No way I'd take that kind of a chance on a dress for an important occasion, especially as if it IS wrong, how are you going to replace it? You need to buy another dress or pay for alterations, probably at the last moment, and you usually cannot get these companies to refund your money (and custom dresses aren't returnable/refundable, no matter how they fit). Let's face it... If it seems too good to be true, it usually is. (We ended up ordering through Azazie. They have a "try-on" program where for $10, including shipping both ways, you can order the dress you are interested in and try it on at home. Dresses have been of consistently high quality, well-made, pretty much true-to-size... and I bet we've tried on about 15 dresses between myself and the bridesmaids.)
