Has anyone ordered everything on the menu in the dining rooms since it's free?

Not sure if anyone has done this before but we got to the end of the meal and DH was so full when our server asked him what he would like for dessert he replied, "Nothing, Thank you." Our server brought dessert to our table and set a plate in front of DH and they had taken chocolate syrup and had written, "Nothing!" on it! :rotfl2::laughing::lmao:

On my last cruise, the first night, my wife ordered the three-piece dessert sampler. I said, "I'll have the same thing."
The server brought a plate with "Same Thing" written in syrup.

It's not often that I am speechless, but I was for a moment at that time!

I've had multiple meals both because i've ordered 2 and because our server insisted i try something other than what i ordered. The second is very common at Palo. On our wedding cruise I and a friend ate 7 and 6 lobster tails respectively one night. With that said another friend of ours, who is a picky eater, orders 5-6 things on the menu every night to barely touch them because "he can" and we find it very annoying to be that wasteful. I have no issue with trying some new things or even pigging out while on vacation but to order items just to waste them just doesn't sit right with me. Maybe it's because i'm old school but i just don't like wasting food. (stepping down off soap box)

I am right there with you:thumbsup2 and it is fun to try something new and if you do not like it it is ok to not finish it. But to order 5-6 things and "sample" them is SO WRONG :sad2::sad2::sad2:

I agree with your attitude 110%!
And your friend who orders all he can because he can. Well.... I think there are some ***** names for him, being ridiculously greedy and he is only making himself look foolish to the crew serving him and a sideshow of how extravagant he think's he is and demonstrating his lack of restraint in common sense and good manners to other Guests around him.

I'm sure no one was impressed by his efforts, just embarrassed on his behalf!

I don't see how a criuse ship could logesticly manage to donate food and ensures it safe.

However WDW donates to a number of shelters about 1/2 ton of cooked, but unserved food a week. Teh sheklters have a syatem with trucks picking up the donated food a few times a day.

That has been noted in the news and written about a number of times.

Disney cruise by any means cannot do this, due to the time the food would be left out.
I have only been to WDW once so I cant comment about their food but Disneyland doesnt donate food.
I am clearly talking about food still behind the counter that has never been served. Food that has already been served just not eaten.....uhh yeah clearly not sanitary.

I'll bet he chain-smoked on his verandah, too - just because smoking is allowed! :sad2:

We have been on three of our five cruises with our best friends. On our last cruise, our husbands were sooooo looking forward to the scallops, because they remembered how much they enjoyed them from the last cruise. We had the late seating, and they both ordered their scallops. When they were finished, they asked if they could order another to split, trying not to be greedy. The servers insisted that they have their own. After those were brought and devoured, they were lamenting that they were gone, so the server offered to bring them more. They agreed happily.

I am not even exaggerating. The servers brought out this HUGE bowl of scallops, I think there must have been about 25 - 30 in there, and sat it down between them. Our husbands ate nothing else, but spent the rest of our meal chowing down on those things. We thought they were both going to be sick, but they were two very happy guys. No little scallop died in vain that night.

My husband as already started dreaming of the scallops for next year. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

When my daughter was 10 months old, we brought a TON of baby jar food on board, because even though she was eating some regular food. we wanted to make sure she had what she needed. I think we opened one jar the first morning, but didn't touch them again. She tried all sorts of new foods and the servers were great about bringing her out things to try. I hated when they'd bring a full meal, since we knew that she wouldn't eat all of it, but they insisted. She loved the mixed veggies, and she was (and still is) obsessed with fruit, so every night when we sat down, they already had a banana peeled and cut into small pieces for her.

Looking back now, I guess it is good that she doesn't have any food allergies, as a ship in the middle of the ocean would have been a very unfortunate place to discover one. No one in our family has/had any though, so we weren't as worried as maybe we should have been.
