Has anyone NOT been seated with a Landry's card? (Yak & Yeti, TRex)

I tried at 60 days+ and wasn't able to get reservations at Y&Y or T-Rex. I have tried calling both restaurants to make reservations but no one picks up at T-Rex, and at Yak & Yeti they said no phone reservations allowed. I am hoping we can still be seated day of with the Landry's card, assuming a reservation doesn't come up between now and our trip at the end of June. We were planning on a midweek (Wednesday) early ish dinner at T-Rex and a Friday dinner at Y&Y. Has anyone actually been turned away at either restaurant with the Landry's card? If they are busy, do they just tell you to come back? How does it work if the restaurants are pretty full?

Thanks in advance! This is new to us. It will be the first trip we are getting the card.

We just made a reservation over the phone at Yak & Yeti, so I would call back. When you ask to make a reservation, let them know you are a Landry's card holder. They told me they were only accepting reservations on the phone for card holders.

To answer your other question, we have been turned away from T-Rex twice. Once was after Hurricane Matthew and another was a regular day. Both days they said they were too busy to accept Landry card holders. Another time, they accepted the card, but they weren't pleasant about it. They want reservations, but they would seat us as a "one time exception". We haven't been back since. We have never been turned away from Yak & Yeti or Rainforest Cafe in AK. All these times we were a party of 2-6 with 6 being the max they will seat per card.

I have never been turned away but they gave me an odd time to come back so we decided on QS at Y&Y and made a phone res from the park to Rainforest it was a perfect time at 445. We had dinner and then ran over to FOP at 5 till 6 and made it last minute.

That’s very odd that you were told no phone reservations allowed at Yak & Yeti, that’s how I made my reservation (no Landry card) a month ago for the trip I just came home from. Online bookings were full (it was 35 days pre-trip when we booked our vacation) and they gave me no problem at all getting me the time I wanted. know several others that have done this also. Maybe try again and see if the first person you spoke with was mistaken, or maybe find out if this is new procedure?

Also, keep trying T-Rex several times a day, eventually someone is likely to answer. When I was calling restaurants to try and make reservations there were a couple that were like that, it took about 5 days but Ifinally got someone to answer and made reservations (albeit, it was not T-Rex so I can’t speak of them specifically)

We haven't gotten our Landry's card yet. I will get it and then call Y&Y back to try reserving. I don't know why no one ever picks up at T-Rex! I have called at least 30 times. We are only a party of 4, so at least we are under the max of 6 to try on the day of if a reservation doesn't open up.

I was calling the T-Rex restaurant number instead of Disney Dining. I understand that sometimes there are additional reservations available at the restaurant that don't show up in the Disney system (or at least I read that somewhere - who knows if it is true) so I was trying to reach someone to inquire. In the meantime, I keep checking MDE a few times a day in case something opens up there.

I must have been lucky last week because someone answered at T-Rex the first time I called. They still had plenty of availability less than 30 days out. I would keep trying to call.

Yes, that’s what I meant. Continue trying the restaurant directly. Some of mine answered the first time, others took a week with 25+ tries until someone eventually answered. I made more than half my reservations by calling restaurants directly because nothing was available with MDE by the time we booked our last minute vacation. Most non- Disney owned restaurants will allow you to reserve over the phone.

The Landry card should not matter, I and others I know do not have one and Y&Y still made the reservation over the phone with no issues.

I made a yak & yeti reservation over the phone recently, (prolly 2 weeks ago-ish) and they asked for my Landry’s number before they would take the reservation.

Thanks for posting this-although I've been admitted within 15 minutes of presenting my Landry's card three times at T-Rex, we are planning on showing up at Yak & Yeti when they open about 11ish in late June. My fear is always that someone will say "sorry!" All those times a manager came by our table and asked about our experience. My thinking is that the Landry's card is gaining in popularity and they may have to modify their policies.

They did ask me if I had a Landry’s card before taking my reservation and I said “No, but if I need one to make a reservation I can get one.” But they said no, they just ask first. Not sure? May be dependent on who answers the phone also.

I wish Beaches & Cream was non-Disney owned so we had a workaround to get those sundaes! I will keep trying. In many years and many trips, I have never experienced anything like this. I am hoping as the dates get closer and maybe park hours are extended that more reservation times will open up.

On our trip in November 2020 we were able to walk up to Yak and Yeti and were seated immediately for four. No wait, no Landry’s card. Two weeks ago we tried to walk up to TRex, and they were not accepting walk ups, at all, as the people behind me had a Landry’s card and the hostess said they were fully booked. There was a long line of folks outside waiting. It was Spring Break, so I figured that was the reason. We have had very little luck lately at Disney Springs finding any last minute reservations at any of the restaurants. Last night, the only thing available was Paradiso 37 and it was for a very late reservation. So, we just grabbed a few snacks and headed home.

A reservation popped up at Rainforest Cafe so I snagged that for now. If I can't get through at T-Rex at least we have that! I actually think the kids will prefer the menu at Rainforest Cafe. They have just been to T-Rex in Disney Springs before so I thought of it as a mini tradition.
