Has anyone had Disney cancel ADRs?

We have 2 ADRs booked for 12/30 for 2 different size parties because we couldn't get our party of 8 on one reservation (they didn't have room).

So now we have a party of 2 ressie and a party of 6 ressie for 10 minutes later. We've guaranteed the reservations with our cc.

Do you think that this situation is subject to the 'double booking' cancellation policy? We tried to get the CM to add a note to each of the bookings saying that each one was for one party of 8.

TIA....

Take deposits at all restaurants of $10 per person.

Set that as the per person minimum. The other issue Disney has is the "eat dinner here, have dessert there" folks. And while that is fun, when they are having problems getting everyone seated for dinner, dessert only reservations should be discouraged.

But they shouldn't call to ask you. That would be a very expensive service and that money has got to come from somewhere. I don't want to pay more for my food because other people have two reservations.

1st time double booker here.....

Ok....I agree CC should guarantee all ressies....

I double booked 2 nights....

MY mom was not sure if she would be able to come this trip....cause
she is moving....

So 2 nights I booked ressies for myself and DH...just in case mom
came....so we would have time alone....

I also booked dinner ressies for us if mom didnt come....
Of course I am cancelling the other 2....

This trip with free dining....I had to "cover myself" because
everything was getting booked....

Of course with changes to ddp next year....I don't think we
will have this problem....

OF course CS locations will be jam packed

I have had my ADR cancelled and without warning! This was two years ago during the week from Christmas to New Years. I had a ressie for dinner in the early evening and then had a ressie for dessert late in the evening at another restaurant. I will never do that again! Dessert isn't worth it. What Disney does is they cancel your earlier reservation and leave your last one. I would have been eating at 9:30 ( this is when we were going for dessert )at night because my dining ressie was cancelled. I was lucky because I had called to check on my ressie to see if I could add a person to it and found it was gone. A nice CRO locked my ressie so no one else could cancel it.This is NOT a new policy. Disney has been doing it especially when it is a crowded time of the year. Beware!

I had called a few months ago to check all of my ADR's and several of the ones that I cancelled were still showing! I had cancelled the Kids Pirate Cruise and that was still showing in there, plus 2 Fantasmic packages for same night, same restaurant! I think it is a good idea to call and reconfirm all of the outstanding ressies prior to leaving to ensure no surprises when you arrive there.
