I read the website, it seems like a good deal if you are going to a place that is on the list. what am I missing?

Nothing. Just make sure you're aware of the restrictions with any given certificate - e.g. Minimum $35/2 entrees; no Friday/Saturday; etc.

We use a restaurant.com certificate no less than once a month. Like the previous poster said make sure you read the restrictions. You can only use one certificate at a time and only go to each place with a certificate once a month. Once you start buying certificates they will send you discount codes sometimes even up to 80%.

I have used them a couple times with no problem. Also if you use sunshine rewards you get a %back into your sunshine rewards account.

I use them all the time. I usually buy during the 60 or 70% off sales, doesnt get any better than that! Just read the restrictions, like everyone else said so you know when you can go and how much you need to purchase.

Use coupon code CUISINE to get 50% off. Expires 5/18(today).

The one little quirk is that restaurants sometimes (or in my experience, often) drop out of the program, so if you haven't used your certificate you have to choose another.

I still haven't used a $25 credit I had with them from buying the '07 Entertainment Book, but I've swapped out restaurants 3 total times, with a total of 4 restaurants, as the first two I chose left the program. They are VERY good about letting you know that your certificate is no good, but it's still a pain.

So I'd recommend not buying in advance; only get certificates for places you are going to go to VERY soon.

Ive used the certs from restaurants that are no longer on the rest.com site. I think they would have to honor them since you bought them - like any other gift certificate. Theyre not coupons, theyre considered gift certificates. I buy them whenever they have the really good sales and have used them up to the end of the expiration date.

Nope they dont have to honor them. Took the family to a newer place that had opened. They had a lamenated one that said we will not accept anymore. I was ticked to say the least. I argued she had to take them but she said they sold to many and she wouldnt take anymore.

I did get my refund back from restaurant.com but I was pretty mad. I wanted to leave but dh said we are here we might as well stay...he just doesn't get the "point"!

So I am not sure if restaurant.com sold more then they were supposed to or if the restaurant wasn't expecting alot of people to use them.

Other then that I have had no problem.

I use them frequently for restaurants in my town or when on vacation. They are easy to use, just make sure you read the terms before purchasing. A few places add a gratuity , but not many. Sign up for their email discount codes. Nearly every month you get a code for 50-70% off the certificates!

I had this same experience. I didn't even know the restaurant was no longer participating until after I got home from our dining experience. I wanted to get more gift certificates from restaurant.com. When I put in that restaurant, they no longer came up. So, I guess, YMMV.

Thank you!!! I just got $100 worth of gift certificates for $20! Some had a minimum order, but with our large family, not a problem (which is why we rarely go to restaurants). :worship:

Same situation...I wanted to walk out also. But it was our favorite place to dine..so we didn't make a big deal about. I'm still upset.

How did you get a new certificate? I stilll have the one I can't use. I feellike I threw away $6..

Something like this

I get emails when the place closes, and they have a method of unredeeming and then redeeming it to something else.

Did you guys with the coupons create an online account? If so, I'd log in and see if it has any options for you!

It was beyond easy to do it the times I've done it, though frustrating b/c now I'm down to two restaurants I don't actually want to eat at!
