What can you tell me about it???

I am sure I can save a significant amount of money but am still kind of leary!!!!

I used them years (2) then I switched to BJ's (wholesale club) because they were cheaper. I never had any problems with them. I just ordered online and would get the order within a few days. They used to send the nice holding cases with screw on caps with each order. Any other questions I'd be happy to help

Thanks Christy!

I guess I am just worried about getting them and something being wrong with the lenses it's self but I guess if you used them for 2 years well that's a plus for me!!!

Is there anything else you can tell me that maybe I wouldn't think to ask???

I haven't used 1-800-Contacts but I have been using www.aclens.com for years and have always been very happy with them. For my type of contacts they were cheaper than 1-800-Contacts

Another vote for aclens. I've been buying my daughter's contacts there, and they've been fine. Diana

I use 1800contacts. As long as you have your prescription from your doctor, you shouldnt have a problem.
I used to use the regular contacts and when 1 ripped, my contact doctor(I have a regular opthamolagist too) told me I had to wait 3 weeks for an appointment. No way was I wearing glasses for 3 weeks! I then went to Lenscrafters, got an exam and they ordered me the disposable ones. Ever since, Ive been reordering through 1800, and have had no problems. This was over 3 years ago.
My only complaint is that I have gotten a few contacts (maybe 4 over the past 3 years) that are a little ripped on the edges. My guess is that is the contact company's fault and not 1800. Ive never tried to get replacements because I figure its not worth the aggravation, so I cant tell you how they would handle that. But otherwise, I always get them delivered very promptly and exactly what Ive ordered.

I had checked 1-800, but found that Wal-Mart was actually cheaper for my toric lenses. Maybe I will have to recheck the sites again.

I have used them for many years now and have never had a problem. I found when I was living in the US that when Wal-Mart was having a sale that they were cheaper, but otherwise I would order online, especially since they often times give you an instant rebate and free shipping. Now that I live in Italy it is a plus for me because I can order what I want, when I want and the shipping is always fast. I can't complain about the service I have received to date.

I think I am going to have a problem because i ordered the contacts through the doctor last year and got a years supply but i never received a hard copy of the prescription, I am just taking the numbers off of the boxes.

Will I have to get another exam or should they just give me the prescription????

Thanks for all the responses, they are helping me out greatly!!!

You should call your doctor and ask for a copy of the perscription. Depending on what state you live in he might not be required to give it to you though. I know here in California they are not required to give you a copy of your contact lens perscrition, only your glasses. A lot of doctors give it to you anyway though because it's good coustomer service. Also most contact lens perscriptions are only good for one year, so you might have to make an appointment for a new percription anyway. I hope this helps!

I have ordered online several times and just used lensworld.com and they were ok. Slow on shipping them, but they said they were out of stock on my left eye ones and had to wait for them. As for the prescription, I just took it off my contact lens box, my eye doctor kept moving around and I got sick of it and just ordered some one day and have been ordering ever since. I use disposable, btw. I can't do the long-term ones as I'm allergic to the once a week cleaning solution (those enzyme tablets). Of course, maybe you don't need those now? I don't know, it's been a long time since I had those. Good luck!

I used 1-800 and had no problems.

Once I did open up a lens that was folded over on itself and I couldnt get it right, so I called them and they told me to send it back and they sent me a whole box of lenses(6) to replace it. I was very pleased with that!!

I have ordered contacts from them for a few years. I do not have my prescription, I just took the numbers off the box and if you order online there is a place to put your eye doctors name and phone number. I don't know if they really check. I have never had a problem with my contacts. I also go through mypoints to get 700 points with every order.
