..to go on the Sunrise Safari?

If codes come out, I'm hoping to book 6 nights at AKL in August. Can't afford concierge for the whole stay, but would love to do the safari.

Has anyone ever booked concierge for one night to do the safari, then rechecked into a regular room?

At this point it can be done, although I've heard several times that they were going to require minimum two or three night stays to take the Safarai. The last time I was there they were discussing the possibility of not requiring minimum stays, but not allowing one nighters to make advance reservations, so you'd take your chances on a space available basis.

it's sounds to me like you're saying it's doable, but there's some stigma attached to it -- although not overt?

No--that's not at all what I'm saying. I'm telling you what I've read on these boards and been told by the AKL concierge folks.

Personally I don't give two hoots what you do. It doesn't affect me at all. I'm just trying to warn you that if you book it this way, the policies could change before you get there.

Your best bet is to call the AKL Concierge directly and ask them what their policy is on this. They are very nice and I am sure would be willing to answer your question.:D
