Never saw a unit or stayed in one and we just closed on a BWV resale.
We stayed at Pop Century in July and fell in love with WDW all over again (both DH and i had been there, not together though, in the past but not stayed on property). Decided we want to go to WDW every other year but stay deluxe instead so that we can have a bigger bed and be closer to the parks. We particularly loved the Epcot resort area when we walked over to there from the WS to explore a little. We first looked into BCV (we actually went into the lobby of that one and it was breathtaking, as were other deluxes we saw). We saw the Boardwalk area although we did not go into the lobby of BWI/BWV.
Once I began my research this summer (remember me everyone? I was waiting until Spring 2009 to buy...well I am now a DVC member!!!

), DVC began to make more and more sense for us. I played with numbers and when I saw how much a 10-night stay costs in any deluxe resort in TODAY'S money, I was stunned at what I could buy for about 4 times that amount, and have WDW vacations for over 30 years more! Our kids are little so we have plenty of time for family vacations to WDW ahead of us. I looked at
points charts, and discovered that it costs fewer points to stay in a standard view at BWV than to stay in the same size room at BCV. We are not particular about the view, and would stay in a standard if it costs us fewer points and would allow us a longer trip. Then I noticed that for resales, BWV were selling for less money per point. Now, one may argue 2 points with me...one, that maintenance fees are slightly higer for BWV than for BCV...two, that BCV has Stormalong Bay, a pool area to which, even as a DVC member, you cannot pool hop. However, the price was still significantly lower than BCV, the lower points cost for the room was VERY appealing, and we are sure we will be much more than satisfied with the pool at BWV! Plus, we could walk to both Epcot and DHS from BWV. Music to our ears...no buses or car to deal with for 2 of the theme parks!! And, we also knew that in order to make sure we could take advantage of the lower point cost rooms at BWV we would have to be members there and be able to book the room 11 months out. We tend to book our vacations a year in advance (unless like in the past, my TA talked me out of it and we waited a few more months and booked the same thing anyway), so this was perfect for us.
So, even though we never saw a unit or stayed in one, we took the plunge. I have full confidence that Disney will not let us down and that we will enjoy all of our future stays at BWV!
