I have tried repeated to get an ADR for Le Cellier with no luck. We have an ADR for San Angel Inn and I was thinking of stopping at Le Cellier before hand to see if they had an availability. If we were able to get a table we would not go to San Angel. Would I be charged anything??? I could call and cancel with my cell but it would be very last minute.:surfweb:

You would not be charged anything, if you do not show up for a Fantasmic package (you have to give your credit card info for that) THAT you might be charged for but not an ADR, I am sure people do not show up all the time.

I just think its common courtesy to call and cancel an ADR whether there is a charge or not, even if it is last minute. Perhaps someone walking in can then get to eat there. I think only the dinner show types get charged for no shows/hoop dee doo and castle meals (on DDP you lose credits). It is so VERY difficult especially during these renovations at restaurants and DDP to get what you want. I tried LeCellier too and no go for us either. I actually had to grab a late lunch (4pm) at San Angel to even have a reservation after also trying Rose and Crown, Cape May Buffet, San Angel for dinner and one other, I forgot after so many attempts (after losing Teppanyaki (done at the 190 mark) for their renovation/close down running late and learning of it here on the DIS :grouphug: thank goodness. I would have been very upset to have no reservation at all if I had learned of it at Disney.)
Good Luck, I have heard that some people DO get a seat by walking in. Guess you have to just get "lucky" Heres some pixie dust for ya :wizard:
Wherever you get to eat, have a good trip!

Calling at the last minute is still better than not calling at all. BTW - it's also worth calling at the last minute to see if there is an ADR available at Le Cellier.

Unless you had to put a credit card down for booking, you won't be charged if you don't show up.

Some ADRs (i.e. dinner shows and CRT) require full payment at booking, and if you don't cancel before the official cancellation time, you're out the full price. Some (i.e. California Grill and Akershus) require a credit card guarantee. If you don't cancel and your party doesn't show up for these, there is a per person charge that will be put on your credit card.

San Angel shouldn't be a place that required a credit card guarantee.

We had that happen at Spirit of Aloha dinner show. We had prepaid, and tried to cancel our reservation the night before. I think they have a 48-hour cancellation policy - because we called only 24 hours in advance to cancel, they wouldn't refund our money. We ended up going to the show, since we had already paid (and enjoyed it). But with regular restaurants where you don't have to give a credit card and pre-pay (like San Angel), you won't be charged. If you're lucky enough to get in at Le Cellier, just call to cancel your other reservation as a courtesy.

Hate to be a wet blanket, but you probably won't be able to get a walk-up at Le Cellier, though - it's the most popular restaurant at Epcot and very hard to get into (as you have already discovered). We were able to get 9:00 dinner reservations one day, by going to the restaurant right when they opened that morning - but by the time we got our food, it was about 9:45 (way too late for dinner for me - I don't mind eating later in the evening, but that's too late!).

While you will not be charged for not showing up to you San Angel Inn reservation; it would still be nice for you to cancel your reservation, no matter how last minute, so someone else could eat in your place.

Also I would advice calling the day of first, before just showing up at the podium. I've called last minute for adrs several times and have gotten in while people who were walk ups were turned away.

If you get in at LeCellier, you can ask the CM at the check in desk to cancel the SanAngel reservation for you.

There is no charge for missing ADRs except for a few restaurants, that have already been mentioned, (CRT, Akershus, Fantasmic dinner packages, California Grill, etc.)

Please cancel your reservation even if it is last minute. I totally understand wanting to try for LeCellier. However, there may be someone wanting in at San Angel Inn that can't get in because you have a table that you are never going to use. We did something similar at MGM in the spring and we had the check-in person cancel our other reservation for us.

Disney really needs to do something about the people who don't cancel their reservations. If people continue to make multiple reservations and not cancel the ones they aren't going to use, I don't think Disney will be far behind requiring a credit card for all ADR's. And with all the complaints about not being able to get a ADR, who can blame them.
