Has anyone eaten at Sci-Fi at MGM?

Our DS age 9 loves Sci-Fi. We think the food is just so-so. In order to make everyone happy we made plans for dessert only. The shakes and desserts are great so I think this idea will make everyone happy. :)

I can recommend it if you're ever there alone! Cos its dark, no-one notices you are alone and you can watch the movies whilst you eat :thumbsup2 .I was sat in a car with a family of 4 in front who were very nice and even offered me one of their deserts when they finished cos they were too full to eat it-unfortunately so was I. :sad2: Its a wonderful atmosphere-look out for the CMs joininng in with the film! and if the food isn't gourmet, well what do you expect from a theme park?

Your kids are going to love this place.

When people here tell you to stick to the burgers and onions rings, LISTEN TO THEM!! Pretty much anything else is awful. But the burgers are great.

It's a wonderful place to sit and relax when you need to get away from the rides. And I like having the seats separated from the whole family. Sometimes you just have to separate the kids. Dh sat with ds, and I sat with dd, and the teens sat together. This trip, we'll have an infant with us...not sure how we'll work that!!

Fun atmosphere, burgers and sundaes are good, everything else is real bad.

We usually eat at Sci Fi on our first night there. :thumbsup2 They've always let us order from the lunch menu during dinner times--we usually get the burgers.

The atmosphere is GREAT- :3dglasses -the kids will love it. We've always had great service there, but you WILL NEED ADR's for June. We always make them for July.

not sure you could actually say we ate there, not sure if it was actually food or just burnt shoe leather :confused3 :sad2: :sad2: :scratchin

Sci-fi dine in is a hoot. We always go. Mostly for burgers and shakes. You can't go wrong if you stick to basic food items.

The atmosphere more than makes up for it. I have never eaten in a restaurant like this anywhere before. It's a must.

So, I'm not the only one who thought that. Heh. I had ressies for Sci-Fi last Monday. Based on the UG and reviews here, we were making it a dessert only visit. Well, by the time ADRs rolled around, we'd been so busy we hadn't eaten since Chef Mickey's at 11(more like 11:20 by the time we were seated). ADRs were for 7:15, but we waited almost 15 minutes. So we decided to go ahead and get dinner there. BIG mistake. Although my dad loved the Rueben sandwich, my grilled chicken sandwich was literally like chewing on a piece of charcoal. My mom's wasn't quite as bad, but still not great. Only the very middle of my chicken wasn't burnt, and even that was tough. No time to send it back though because of Fantasmic (this was our only chance to see it the whole trip, and we love it). The hot fudge sundae was definitely good though. Aside from that, the only thing I enjoyed about that meal was the onion straws on the sandwich and the fries. Cool atmosphere though, and our server was really nice.

But of course, this meal was the second most expensive of our trip, 2nd only to Chef Mickey's breakfast. To quote Miss Piggy in The Muppet Movie, "Never before and never again!" (unless it's for dessert only). :sad2:

I've given the sci a few chances, but the food and service , along with the wait times have been pretty bad. I do not plan to eat there again unless I'm with someone who has never been because the theme is really great! :confused3

We took a chance in Nov despite the mixed reviews and we were pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed our meal, though it wasn't the best food we've had it was still good, and the theming was very cool. My only complaint was that it was so cold in there. They said it took a while to get the air conditioning adjusted since the place was so big, but it was freezing!
