Has anyone done either the Wishes cruise or the illuminations cruise? We have the wishes cruise booked, but I think I might want to cancelle and try for illuminations insted. I think we would get just a good of view of wishes from the beach of the GF or even the Poly, But won't be able to see Illuminations with our guests unless they all have park passes, (in which case some of them won't) Any suggestions?

That's a great point... If i wasn't planning on doing an epcot dessert party i'd definately do the cruise there.
Since i am planning that dessert party im looking into a wishes cruise but i have watched wishes from the beach at the Poly and it was very nice.

My DH surprised me with a wishes cruise on our honeymoon. It was fabulous. The show is even more amazing watching it from the lagoon rather then in the park! The only downside is that the music in the park isn't quite loud enough to be heard clearly during some partsof the show out on the lagoon, but it was still a wonderful show. You also get to see the electric water pagent, and get a tour of bay lake and the seven seas lagoon, including a drive by of the wedding pavilion.

We did an Illuminations dessert party the night of the wedding, and that was wonderful too. You can't go wrong with either show, I think in the end its just personal preference.

We used the Grand One yacht for a cruise to watch the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks, after our wedding reception. The yacht was fabulous - our guests all loved it. We both prefer the MK fireworks to Illuminations - I guess I'm one of the few who is bored stiff by Illuminations. Yawn!
Which is good for the Illuminations fans, b/c there's one fewer person to fight it out with for a good viewing spot :) Wishes is much more moving, to us.
Cheers!

We did one for our anniversary one year. You get a pontoon boat and are under the bridge in France with a great view of almost all of the show. The biggest difference for me is on a Wishes cruise you get a great view of the show but none of the story, and with Illuminations you can hear everything, including all the songs which I happen to love. You can order cakes, drinks, snacks etc. to enjoy on the boat, and our driver actually took us on a cruise down to MGM also as they are on the same waterway. Both are fun though, depends on personal preference.

This may sound crazy, but do you get a stiff neck by watching Wishes from the boat. I can see wear it would be easier to watch illuminations by boat because the fireworks are on the water. Just wondering?

We did the Wishes cruise, it was great but so cold that night (March 22, 2004) We were all bundled under blankets and it was so cold no one had more than one drink.

Meranda - No stiff neck from watching Wishes from the water. You are far enough back that its not a problem :)
